  1. Big Sam out. Big Warnock in. Lacazette plays well enough but not at that price. Vardy I’d have ahead of anyone now that Aguero’s getting on a bit.
  2. Very poor. Tierney a standout. Terrific left winger. Not so good at left back.
  3. Everton at home needed extra time to beat Rotherham 2-1. In the old days it would have been the exciting prospect of a replay at Rotherham and a disappointing 1-4 defeat. Chorley beating Derby 2-0 approaching halftime. Blackpool must have a chance of beating West Brom but the tie of the round is Arsenal v Newcastle United. Old time FA Cup pedigree, that one.
  4. Correct. I once heard Bob Crampsey say what I had often thought: “They (the Europeans) even run out of the tunnel better than we do.”
  5. Nijinsky. Best player in City’s best team.
  6. @Gribz spake and lo, it came to pass. There’s always a first time.
  7. Repeat of last year’s is it?
  8. £40M goal from Tierney against Albion. Baggies in big trouble. Their players stand flat-footed in both penalty areas.
  9. BSRT is 100% right in his OP. One season early in the NIAR Rangers were miles ahead in January but frittered away points for a nervy ending. Might have been 88/89.
  10. Nine conceded in two successive home games. Albion going down unfortunately.
  11. Aye. I regret to admit I’m in my second infancy. I don’t have the mental resilience to cope. I’ll likely be be same for Pittodrie.
  12. I saw none of the play, heard no commentary and only looked in here when I thought the match must be over so my opinion is based on nothing. So, from that position of ignorance, the strike pair must be Roofe and Itten. Hagi must play. He provides ball control and effective passing. He’s not a sprinter. He gets pushed around sometimes. Ian McMillan wasn't Morgan the Mighty but he won games.
  13. Jock Aird left back, Burnley and Scotland “had everything except ability” according to Docherty. He had a reasonable record as a manager.
  14. Cardiff City - blue to red controversially in 2012 but back to blue a couple of years later.
  15. The corrected version: Everton 2-1 Hammers Utd 2-0 Villa ‘Spurs 3-1Leeds Palace 2-0 Blades Brighton 2-1 Wolves WBA 0-2 Arsenal Burnley 1-0 Fulham Magpies 2-2 Leicester Chelsea 2-1City So’ton 1-3 Liverpool OGS on the up again. Or is it just because the players have decided to play?
  16. Ask her to keep her scissors in her handbag until I’ve seen at least 55.
  17. It’ll get dark.
  18. Nae bad, ma loon. Don’t skip off again. Chelsea Boy, compo and I are running this on our own with sage interventions by Rousseau.
  19. Good photo. You’re younger than I thought you were.
  20. Throstles thrashed by Leeds 0-5. @Rousseau will be dancing in the streets.
  21. I agree but I suppose there’s a risk that the other guys are infectious and might smit your own players.
  22. Games coming thick and fast. 29 December Brighton 1-2 Gunners Burnley 1-1 Blades So’ton 1-2 Hammers West Brom 1-2 Leeds United 3-1 Wolves 30 December Hotspur 2-0 Fulham Mags 0-3 L’Pool
  23. In those days I had no dislike for Dundee United. McLean’s team had a perfect blend similar to that of their fellow citizens twenty years previously.
  24. Are bookies to be trusted?
  25. Beaten by the Arsenal at Emirates? Chelsea should stay home, stay safe. Monday’s results will be: Palace 1-2 Leicester Chelsea 2-0 Villa Toffees 2-2 City
