  1. 0-0. Sunderland through to Wembley most likely to play Charlton.
  2. Meanwhile two big fish are floundering in the League playoffs, Sunderland and Portsmouth. Pompey are 0-1 but playing at home so should win by enough. Both finished behind Luton Town and Barnsley. If they can’t do better than those two it suggests neither is ready for promotion.
  3. Despite Abraham and Grealish, Villa are dull. Derby are mote creative and dare I say it, have momentum. Villa have greater potential than any others in the league, even the Sheffields, but successive owners and management can’t tap into it.
  4. I want to win so I would be picking my best forward, Defoe. On the other hand Defoe has done what he was brought in to do and deserves an early rest so it’s Alfie to prove he is the second best with the prospect of being the best.
  5. Villa are the bigger giant by quite a bit. They are also sleepier by quite a bit. Derby aren’t out of it yet. Leeds have had some bad home results.
  6. I have a feeling about Derby. Leeds can be flakey at Elland Road. 7/2 would tempt me if I were a gambling man.
  7. speirs won’t read anything on this board to justify what he says. On some others the discussion is less about just compensation for victims than it is about crippling celtic’s transfer budget. However, his admonition of Rangers supporters would be better as a footnote to an excoriating condemnation of the separate entity like no other.
  8. Baggies win 1-0 but Villa through on penalties 3-4. Serves West Brom right.
  9. brown was running towards Flanagan for what purpose, I know not. Flanagan only fended him off. brown is a small man so Flanagan’s movement was approximate to brown’s face
  10. Charlton and Stoke are currently has-beens. Brighton have never been anything notable. Football League Division 3 South is where I rate them.
  11. Well done City. Hard luck, Liverpool.
  12. Flanagan sees or senses brown running at him with arm raised to pull him away or barge him. Flanagan fends him off.
  13. Stein was a robust performer, could dish it out plenty but no sneaky stuff.
  14. On the contrary. Fight ‘til the day is done. Just no fists, no studs and no girly shirt tugging.
  15. Yes but lost form and got only two in his third game.
  16. I hesitate to differ from the Honourable Member for Ladbroke Hill but here goes: Brighton 0-0 City Burnley 1-1 Arsenal Palace 2-1 Bournemouth Fulham 2-0 Mags Brendan Blues 2-2 Chelsea Liverpool 3-1 Wolves United 3-0 Cardiff So’ton 2-0 Town ‘Spurs 1-2 Toffees Watford 2-1 Hammers Liverpool champions. Championship Play Offs: Villa 2-2 WBA Derby 1-0 Leeds
  17. Easter Road. Fitting place for the great man to score such an important goal for Rangers because he had been one of the trinity of great Hibs centre forwards, Lawrie Reilly, Joe Baker and Colin Colin Colin Stein.
  18. There’s always an upside. Rangers would have to take the field first to uproarious acclaim. Then celtic could walk out alone to a very suitable reception showing exactly what we think of their achievement.
  19. ‘Spurs v Liverpool is a cracking tie. Arsenal v Chelsea not so much.
  20. Glory, glory Tott’nham Hotspur!
  21. I think Compo should go first in the EPL predictions next season..
  22. Wolves are ideal opponents Too good for Liverpool to be complacent and an attacking side so there won’t be any stubborn ‘bus parking. The downside for them is that Wolves might just be good enough to win.
  23. Brilliant victory. They deserve to win the tournament.
