  1. The collar can’t decide if it’s Jim Baxter or Tiger Shaw.
  2. You’ve jinxed it now, alex.
  3. The treachery of predictive text, alex. Many’s a time one of my literary gems has been torpedoed by the little bugger in the ipad.
  4. A vault face Stewart may well have but it’s safe to say the vault is pretty empty. Fall out the predictive text, 26th.
  5. The table shows a huge gap between 4th and 5th places.
  6. Toffees unwrapped.
  7. Why, yes. I remember it well. Seems like the other day. Same date 1964 LCF Jim Forrest 2, celtic 1.
  8. The Hibs had a go and got their reward.
  9. A dedicated stats thread is an excellent idea for the learned soccer scientists. I’m an actual-baw-in-the net stat man. It’s an age thing. I’ll look in, though, for a bit of extra bewilderment.
  10. Who cares about EPL diddies? But nonetheless: Villa 1-2 Leeds Hammers 1-3. City Fulham 1-1 Palace United 1-2 Chelsea Liverpool 3-0 Blades So’ton 0-2 Toffees Wolves 2-0 Mags Gunners 2-0 Leicester BHA 3-1 WBA Burnley 1-4 Hotspurs
  11. The stramash? What is this “the stramash?“ Hungarian food n’est ce pas?
  12. I doff my bonnet to you that you were able to find so many off the top of your head even with one or two repeats. M. Poirot? He is real isn’t he? Eddie Merckx.
  13. Which club? A club like no other, obviously..
  14. If it goes ahead up to five clubs might leave the EPL. The remainder might not want a full twenty but looking at Championship clubs it would be surprising if Rangers and possibly another Scottish team weren’t invited to the new UKL.
  15. For God’s sake, man, I’m still trying to forget.
  16. Unwatchable but understandable if your job is not to win the league but to avoid relegation. The earliest exponents of this art were Stein at Dunfermline and Waddell at Kilmarnock at least when playing against Rangers and the second force in football at the time, Hearts.
  17. Strange season. Villa beat Leicester away, ‘Spurs 3-0 up but Hammers score three in the last eight minutes.
  18. History suggests he could be right. On the other hand we’ve seen a Rangers triumph followed, diddy team style, by inability to hold the advantage. I’m hoping today is the day when Rangers move ahead in the long march to victory, this time remembering that they’ve to do it again next week and the week after and the week after that.
  19. Only one game matters this week - God, I wish it was over - in the meantime, here’s the trivial stuff. Everton 3-1 Liverpool (Are the toffees hard or soft?) Chelsea 4-1 So’ton City 2-3 Arsenal (Showcase of soccer science) Mags 2-2 United Blades 2-2 Fulham Palace 3-1 BHA ’Spurs 3-0 Hammers Leicester 3-1 Villa West Brom 0-0 Burnley ( Relegation battle) Leeds (new Wolves) 2-1 (Old) Wolves
  20. In the week ahead of the derby. Masonic COPFS and Orange Press conspiracy orchestrated by the dark forces of Rangers PR guys.
  21. That must end any notion of Rangers or any other team in Scotland joining the EPL. If there were to be a greater reduction than two of the league members there might have been a chance of a new UK league of Fulhams, Burnleys, West Broms and the like ejected from the EPL and Sheffields and Birminghams etc from the Championship. They might think Rangers would be a desirable asset.
  22. I voted Kent
  23. It would be surprising if the scandal were confined to one club. It’s not even confined to football. But one club seems to have had many more perpetrators than others.
  24. Nothing to do with Hollicom. Everything to do with institutionalised prejudice of which very little is unconscious.
