  1. JB was a disaster. Most knew it would be. Rosseter and Niko were risks worth taking. BOTH breaking down was bad luck.

    Old Firm

Agree about the "old firm" nonsense. Who'd want them as partners? Lennon's Leith Hibs maybe. Strange transformation there. Up to fifty years ago celtic were Hibs' worst enemies.
  3. Neither, just reckless.
  4. "Keep your wallets in your pockets may be the best advice." Isn't it always?
  5. Angus FC would do just fine. Mona Gussies. Angus v Dundee City would be a cracking fixture.
  6. "In any case, we can play some decent enough football, had 21 shots tonight, 11 on target. Again, our achilles heel is and remains not converting enough chances. This time, it almost shot us in the foot again." - dB. Our Achilles' Heel is our inability to defend a lead.
  7. Succeeds in Norway. Fails in Wales.
  8. 0 - 1 Town after seven minutes. I thought Pep was some big hotshot. Does he not know to pick defenders? Doesn't need them. 3 - 1 HT. 5 - 1 FT.
  9. Get on your coat and hat, Boab, and off to the match. You'll regret not going when you can't. And when the boys run out, give a shout, for the famous Glasgow Rangers
  10. Nat Lofthouse, Tommy Lawton, Willie Thornton (think of all those Waddell crosses) didn't suffer from dementia as far as I know nor does Jimmy Millar. Another great header of the ball, Willie Bauld of the Hearts, died very young but I don't know what he died of. Jeff Astle of WBA died at sixty and he definitely had brain disease which at the time was related to his football career. On the other hand I can think of plenty defenders who liked nothing better than heading the ball clear for ninety minutes who thankfully are still with us. Talking of the fearless Jimmy Millar of the Rangers wearing number 9, go to youtube and look for "Jimmy Millar of the Rangers" by the Followers. These days, nostalgia is even better than it used to be.
  11. Wednesday faltering but Town back on the rails. I think Newcastle will win.
  12. Sporting integrity. The prosperity of the greater celtic hegemony is integral to sport. You're a brainy bloke, dB. Surprised that you're surprised.
  13. Jawohl, dB. It's just too easy to let your mind wander from Pardew to Christine Keeler. Getting it back again may take some time but you're right.
  14. As expected Liverpool lost. 3 - 1 Leicester.
  15. Funny how our memories have no bother with the photo.

    Best Gers XI

True. But add on Harry Davis, Alex Scott, Davy Provan, George McLean and Jim Forrest and you've got a five year squad.

    Best Gers XI

I've done this dozens of times and never picked the same XI twice but here goes. Goram. Caldow Gough McKinnon Cox Laudrup Greig Gascoigne Baxter McCoist Hateley Can't believe I've chosen McCoist and Hateley ahead of Millar and Brand. And no Wullie or Ian McColl. I'll be back in the afternoon with something different. Then again at night.
  19. Good team. Lost 3 - 4 at Villa in a league " decider".
