  1. Im all for it being brought back - its the one song that really gets the stadium rocking and makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. From what i've been told , the song is 100% banned and its due to the words . Changing the words wouldnt be too hard , but there would still be too many people singing the old version and getting us into trouble with UEFA again. I dont think this song will ever be brought back. Pish! Simply The Best has been played in full again recently but you still get idiots singing f**k the pope and the IRA.
  2. Mendes deal looks to be back on http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/hea...brox_bound.php
  3. I hate to bring rumours from Follow Follow over to Gersnet , but i wondered what peoples thoughts were on Real Radio's comments tonight about a player from one of the 2 Milan clubs signing for us? I know its a true case of 'believe it when i see it' - but im really intrigued to be honest. Roughie said there will be news from Milan of a midfielder signing and hinted it is a very well known player.
  4. Surprise surprise eh? I've got a feeling he'll end up there too. Celtic will probabaly be alot easier to deal with.
  5. 'Ally McCoist jetted out to Athens last week to look at a player who had been recommended to them by an agent, 23-year-old Olympiakos star Konstantinos Mendrinos. But Mendrinos only came on for the last 20 minutes of his side's 3-2 defeat to Uefa Cup opponents Racing Santander and Rangers have no further interest.' Had a look at him on youtube and he seemed to be alright. Attacking midfielder with a good shot on him. Seems strange to drop interest just because he only saw 20 mins though?
  6. It must be down to amount of games won in all competitions or something. Ourselves and Celtic win a large majority of their league games every year. Still alot of pish though.
  7. We'll miss Novo's energy tomorrow i reckon. We dont seem to have any urgency in the team without him. Dont think this game will be pretty to watch. Taste of things to come unless Walter gets cash to spend.
  8. Rangers just about to start their first friendly against Munster, hope we dont see this starting 11 at all this season. Alexander,Whittaker,Dailly,Weir,Papac,Beasley,Thomson,Adam,McCulloch,Darcheville,Miller. Normally pre season is quite exciting , hearing how the new signings get on. We've only got a couple of new faces and only 1 of them is in the squad. Still early days i suppose

  10. My thoughts exactly. Ferguson ,in my opinion , has been surrounded by mostly average players for the past 3 seasons. Some less than average even. I realy dont know what more we can expect from Barry when we've been playing some very poor football for 3 seasons and a dull 4-5-1 formation in more recent times. If we had a bit of movement or creativity in our team then we will get the best out of Barry.

    Dean Furman

I thought John Browns Clyde would maybe get first dibs on any young Gers.
  12. Same as Evertons new kit, apart from the scotland badge and different shade of blue. If thats the one then i like it. Prefer it without red
  13. Not a Kenny Miller fan at all but i agree with this comment.
  14. I would love us to sign Maloney ,exactly the kind of player we need in our team. However ,i think the odds are heavily stacked against us here. Now that Celtic know we are rumoured to be interested in him ,they will pull out all the stops to sign him. Its a safer move for Maloney to go back to them anyway , he's cetain to become a hate figure with the Celtic support if he sogns for Rangers. Especially as he was their player of the year not so long ago and was popular witht he fans. Our only hope is that he perhaps doesnt like Gordon Strachan (fair chance of that) and fancies working with Walter and Coisty again. Im keeping my fingers crossed for this one
  15. I dont know if any of the youngsters could have been risked much this season but next year i'd like to see Fleck and Furman get a dozen or so games each. If Furman doesnt then i dont see him hanging around much longer. He must be about 20 years old now and wont fancy another season in the reserves for the 3rd year running . Alan Gow and perhaps Buffel should have seen more action this season IMO , could have made a difference in the league fixtures we dropped points in after UEFA cup away games.

    CL qualifiers

After this season im put off Europe. Getting to the Champions league groups ,making some money and then getting knocked out will suit me.
  17. I agree in some ways here - but the fact that O'Donnell died so young and took ill during an actual match made it all the more shocking. The situation was the perfect excuses for the Tims to call the game off though - no doubt about it.
  18. We'll be punished for this in some way but i doubt we'll be banned. Possibly be made to play some games behind closed doors.
  19. We are all ashamed of what went on but i've no doubt that the idiots starting the trouble probably have never even been to Ibrox in their life. The final being in Manchester made it easy for any tom dick and harry to travel down ,claim to be rangers 'fans' and have an excuse for a party. IF True Mancunian is what he says he is then fair enough. I have every sympathy . But i feel its a bit pathetic to come on here and give it the 'your not welcome' patter. The blame doesnt lie with anyone in these forums!! Wouldnt surprise me if this guy was infact a Timposter getting a dig in.
  20. I know - i went on to BBC radio scotland online and theres hee haw ,even though theres a 'listen live' link on bbc sport. Pants!
  21. Here here Fletcher looked more effective imo
  22. Barry Ferguson should worry about his Scotland slot, warns Craig Brown Mar 27 2008 Scotland skipper Barry Ferguson has been warned his days as an automatic pick are in danger by former boss Craig Brown. The Rangers midfielder missed George Burley's debut game as Scotland boss after withdrawing through injury. And with Stephen McManus standing in as skipper, and the Celtic duo of Scott Brown and Paul Hartley performing well in the Scotland midfield, Brown has warned the 30-year-old he may find his time as a first-choice player under threat. "I said before the match that, of the seven named call-off players, I don't think any more than two would be first-choice players anyway," he said "He will obviously have to consider the reintroduction of the captain Barry Ferguson, but of the others, I think they'll have to fight for their places. "The two central midfield players, Brown and Hartley, did very well, so even Barry might find it difficult to be an automatic selection." Stop talking out your arse Craig Brown!! We might have accepted your comments if there were better players than Paul Hartley or Scott Brown to select. Neither of these two played anything more than OK ,Gavin Rae looked more at home in the midfield i'd say.
