  1. Didn't Bocanegra retire after a career ending concussion?
  2. This Look where MacLeod's assists/goals have come from, his game sense, passing plays. Over the last two season when the Black, Law, MacLeod midfield partnership was established against lesser opposition, all three rotated freely throughout midfield & attack. Law has clearly been the bigger disappointment through his inconsistency, despite a great engine and scoring ability. (Can anyone explain how he manages to disappear in games?) MacLeod in contrast is gaining valuable experience and confidence from his free rein, long may it continue. Well done to Strachan for recognising the emerging talent. Keep up the good work Lewis ...............
  3. A week ago Saturday at Dumbarton with the absence of Black, MacLeod did play, in the middle of the park, and was unimpressive IMHO. Last Saturday he played on the right side and in the second half was the only offensive threat/spark in a dismal display. I don't care where he plays as long as he plays. He is a gem with a very bright future. I hope he stays and becomes a legend. Truly sick of this 'playing out of position' pish, give it a rest ...............
  4. Sad to say but, I believe there is too much 'rubbernecking' & politicking going on, on BOTH sides of the fence. Bill Shankly : "If you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win." What ever happened to the REAL fans.............
  5. Check the Gallery photos on the Rangers website. Counted 10 players, must have been a few subs!? Foster, McCulloch, Mohsni, Wallace, McGregor, Law, MacLeod, Boyd, Miller, Shiels
  6. I don't recall seeing one goal Boyd scored last season for Killie, only remember Boyd when last at Rangers. Was he just as heavy & slow, looks so unfit & out of place walking about. Know he had an op in the off-season but he looks weeks & weeks away. As boring as a bollard to me I'm afraid. Might be able to bank a few shots off his arse but not even a bench starter in my book. Miller is just the opposite, lively, speed to burn, head in the game, linking up with anybody/everybody, driving the team on. Breath of fresh air by comparison. Clarke &/or Shiels (different player this year) deserve a place ahead of Boyd or Temps, otherwise we'll need more than a miracle against The Hibees or Herts ............
  7. For what it is worth - I followed a discussion on this very subject on Twitter re Britney's comments on Kings 41 Criminal convictions, where a South African bear commented on the difference in their court system compared to Scotland/Britain. The suggestion was that it would have been delt with in civil court here not in criminal court. Also suggested that High Court/Criminal being the only level in SA. In theory would SDM have gone to jail IF he had lost in court to HMRC? Feel free to correct me here, not being a criminal myself, I'm not really experienced in court matters
  8. ........... from a proper shitebag of the Britney/Cosgrove variety, not fit to lick Walter's boots. NOTHING this Rhag merchant has to say should be of any interest on here.
  9. McAusland was sent out on loan to Ayr United, when he was sent there or for how long, I don't honestly know. IIRC Cole didn't play much as he was injured most of the season. At times last year Ally struggled to find enough subs for the bench. This year, it is the exact opposite, so I expect the shuffling & grumbling to continue for some time to come ...........
  10. Quote:" I don't think the issue is always whether someone is in their preferred position but whether or not they have the attributes to do a specific job for the managers game plan in another position. Is it really that big a deal? All that is before you get into the fact that formations are fluid throughout the game and so formations and positions don't define players completely anyway." Quote:"Another question is when do you decide what someone's position is? And why?" "For me, I think it's obvious that most decent, professional footballers should be able to play more than one position with the only caveat is that they pick up a lot of experience in their most played position which can be invaluable. The way people go on, their logic suggests that if the position is so fixed to just one, then players must also only have one natural formation and one natural set of tactics and changing them is "stupid". For me, football is more fluid than that." Very good points & one of my pet hates on all forums. I've been struggling to put it into words and think sometimes it is simply a case of 'needs must'. All sorts of negative comments across forums re the team selection yesterday. if you really try to predict the team for the next game, considering injuries, who isn't match fit, can you risk him on this surface, against this team, it isn't so easy. Getting the most skillful player anywhere on the pitch, regardless of starting position is what counts in the long run. Lee "Shoehorn" McCulloch being the perfect example.
  11. He was a body who filled a spot, at a time when little or no other options were available. In the grand scheme of things he did not directly hurt us and I wish him well, wherever he ends up.
  12. It is to be hoped that we can be big enough & strong enough to 'unite' our factions, win that place or places on the board, and be heard. We will never get a better opportunity to show our mettle than in the next few months.............
  13. Change the needle, I think your record is stuck ...........
  14. Gasparotto (17)? What has he had? Like 10 seconds or something. - so you don't think he has shown any promise at only 17? Aird (18)? Mediocre. - Can think of 3 opportunist goals where he's helped the team, mainly coming off the bench, not bad @18!? MacLeod (19)? The one. - excellent prospect @ only 19, but would you play him every game? McAusland (20)? Mediocre and loaned out. - Have you seen him play this year? Hegarty (20)? Dreadful. - After only one game? Crawford (20)? Mediocre. - ....... and your replacement would be? ....or do you mean the real old-timers like Mitchell (21)? Dreadful. - So he didn't play well last season in defense when asked? First game was last Saturday after injury I believe. Faure (22)? Embarrassing. - Only now being given a chance to play in his 'preferred' position. Replace him with......? Hutton (22)? Imposter - Big & strong & had his moments alongside Macleod. Little (24)? Imposter - so he didn't really score all these goals last year then? Templeton (24)? Playing within himself, average at best - plays better behind the CF but oh what goals he's scored, don't you think? Wallace (26)?Playing within himself, no better or more consistent than he was with Hearts - standout @ LB, best in Scotland? Your point caller? Mines is clear. Your glass is 'clearly' half empty ........................ your negativity astounds me. No hope of you 'supporting' this team then?
  15. So you are say only the first month is a righting off or the rest of the season as well, despite the 8 new signings, who can play after Sept 1 ? Did you watch the 4:0 Albion Rovers game from Livingston? See the goals?
  16. Don't keep us in suspense ........... likes of : Gasparotto (17)? Aird (18)? MacLeod (19)? McAusland (20)? Hegarty (20)? Crawford (20)? ....or do you mean the real old-timers like Mitchell (21)? Faure (22)? Hutton (22)? Little (24)? Templeton (24)? Wallace (26)?
  17. Were they not both injured, requiring surgery and extensive rehab? Not to mention young & inconsistent. Lets not confuse fantasy with fact.
  18. Yes I'm for real. Were you baying for new signings of CB's, MF, FW's, GK's etc ? Did you get them? Yes. Did they play & win in the pre-season? Yes. Did they play on Saturday? No. ..........."Ally's hands are still tied, and, still shackled to the SFA's 'embargo', give him a break." Do you think I am inspired? No. Would my picks have made a difference, maybe, maybe not. On any given day that's football. I can tell the difference when the new found talent plays & when the team, half full of young boys from last year, plays. I'm under no illusion that I'm going to see much change before October or November. It is this impetuous need for instant gratification (despite the 'reality' that the new found talent can't play) that ..... "Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it." ... win that is. The "same old, same old" that for the sake of change some 'Blue knight' is coming around the mountain or over the hill leading your 'new found' three amigos (all at a discount no doubt) to bring us instant glory each week, that we won't be beat? They are not perfect, they are human, they are what we have at the moment. That's football. Ally & his two amigos have been the only constant since our 'troubles' began. The squad we are using at the moment has actually reduced in size, fact. Given time & a level playing field, I might just agree with you. But, in the political climate hanging over Ibrox do you think a change of coach at this stage is wise? Be careful what you wish for..............
  19. Just what we need, another 'prophet of doom' thread filled with knee-jerk reactions to the same old same old. What did you expect on Saturday from the same group of players that played last season. It was hit or miss then too, nothing has changed. We all know we have a month to get through before we see anything of our new players. Just maybe during the pre-season games we should have stuck with last years squad instead of show-boating the latest editions. I had hope that this group of players had learned something but alas no, so, no real surprise. The apprehension was there for all to see in Ally's team sheet starting with the 'dreaded' RB position filled by Hegarty (untried in the pre-season) why no McAusland who has performed well @ RB & in MF. Mitchell returning from pre-season injured, again untested. McCulloch made a blunder @ the back, wind or no wind, when he should have been up-front with Little, considering their combined goal tally last season. Young Gasparotto has performed admirably @ the back & needs the exposure. In truth, there wasn't a lot of choice. The 11 on the field + the 5 subs is all there is to choose from, get over it. The aim this year is still to win the league, any thoughts of Cup glory should be no more than that, a passing thought. Ally's hands are still tied, and, still shackled to the SFA's 'embargo', give him a break. Lets stick to the football instead of every 'Laptop Loyal', blogger, & the 'so called' Scottish journalists looking for a Pulitzer Prize as a political correspondent. Leave the boardroom antics where it belongs, in the boardroom & don't encourage the 'Mhedia' ..................cause I'm sick of their shite.
  20. More Mhedia tripe! Check out Mark Ward on Google before you give any space to this shite. Is that the best 'source' Yorke could come up with!?
  21. Cautious (defensive) line-up by Ally. Can appreciate the need for a clean sheet. Andy Little is due a few goals & I think the 'young lads' are due a good runout.......... get intae thum:rfcbouncy:
  22. I may not understand the internal politics of the forum but it fails me to understand the lack of response to this excellent thread. What is the usual comment, " noticeable by the silence"....................
