  1. Agreed... It is a very grim kind of humour one finds in it, however.
  2. Indeed so. Btw is it true the next one is on Feb 1st? Or is that a rumour that I have just started?
  3. Well done Charltonman, though I feel a bit guilty now that I didn't do something similar. Good on you!
  4. Can I order from you? And do you have the blue one? And do you remember I might owe you a subscription? And have you had enough questions?
  5. Well done with the minutes! PS Mark's top looked brilliant. My pal, John, is after one of those.
  6. I don't think I met Gunslinger Or if I did, only by his real name which I don't know is Gunslinger...
  7. Well said, MountainBear. I heartily concur. I think Hastie deserves praise for timing his 'soundtrack' for when Smith was talking about the current situation. Gullane stories would have been even more apt but Hastie had no way of knowing they were to come.
  8. Good to meet you Ian. It was a pity but you had to go early. Stay later next time to balance things out It has got to be bed time now. Night all...
  9. Great to meet everyone everyone. I've not quite made it home yet... Instead I am in a place called Coopers and reeling at the penalty decision Man City were given. No-one else seems to care. All the other guys are looking at all the scantily clad young women... . It's a disg..... . Oh wait...
  10. I am back home. Is wet and cold and miserable and I am about to batter down Gt Western Road and head out via a stop or two to Ibrox. I am surprisingly happy about all this. But then it is almost a year since I last did it... Edit: happiness misplaced as far as the game went!
  11. Cheers BH, time for me to log off and get packed for tomorrow. I leave about half 5 so I'll probably be knackered before we even start.....still the glorious game and fabulous feast will both perk me up, no doubt. buenas noches
  12. HahhaHa - I asked for that! I'm happy enough with it. Thanks for your organisation and I'll even believe your claimed timeline above Now there's a thankless task (quite literally)
  13. Whatever he is on - I'd love to try some of it. Escaping reality sounds cool.
  14. Well it is certainly not for me to deny that in general, just that this is not an example of particular proof (unless expecting it to be decoded is the claim and that would be rather harsh.) Perhaps you could find other proof for your "away with the fairies" theory in utterances re a succession of asset stripping, money grabbing RFC destroying barstewards? As ol' Leggat used to endlessly put it: "I couldn't possibly say".
  15. die Kirche im Dorf lassen Idioms are tricky buggers to translate, as literal word for word translation can lose the implied meaning unless the same or similar idioms exist in both languages (and they don't here). dB used a well known German saying for "lets not get carried away here". (Unless I am mistaking his intent).
  16. If I end up in plgsarmy's car I promise to renew my (now lapsed, I guess) membership* * Nobody else take offence, I recently got my Rangers First certificate. i'm allowed to support both/all
  17. I don't know, but I'd like to!
  18. It's too late. We're f@cked whether Ally stays or goes. We need 8million just to stand still (which in our footballing terms means sinking lower). Lets say Ally goes and a new man comes in and wants his own backroom staff and - heaven forfend - a scout or two. Oh and some players too. How much would all that cost? Ally and the other two paid off, new lot getting contracts - Another 4 million or 6 million or?? Meanwhile our stadium is falling to bits, we - of all clubs - cannot compromise on safety and to keep Ibrox safe (lets hope that is not me being generous) will cost a lot of money. If Ally stays we still need to find 8million (at the very least and it is probably much more, especially if you include Auchenhowie and Ibrox repairs) ) to get to the end of the season. And God knows where we'll be in the league by then or what the crowds will be and the season ticket uptake could be catastrophic. Either way -= total dead end. It's too late for any fingers coming out of any arses.
  19. Good recruitment work still ongoing, I see, in post #20:-) The team that lost to Berwick might well have been the finest Rangers side I've ever seen. I started going in 65/6 but don't really recall anything other than Ibrox itself until later. We were one of the best teams in Europe at the time, desperately unlucky not to win the CWC that year and challenging closely against - to be honest - another one. I can't recall that combination ever happening again. Staying up all night playing cards didn't help but it was what it was - a freak. A 1-0 cup giant killing shock the likes of which have happened in the English cup for over a century now. Last night was a different sort of humiliation. there's nowhere near as big a gap between the teams (who are from the same division) but then there was a 2-0 lead with 26 minutes left...and there's the fact that we haven't beaten Alloa in three games. If we'd played Berwick 10 times in a row, we'd have won the other nine and sometimes by cricket scores.
