We don't know when the "terminated" remark refers to - "After discussion the Board accepted this offer and employment was immediately terminated. " It could have been days later. I'd love to know the exact sequence. It will also be interesting to hear the other side of the story.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11727/10763976/fawaz-al-hasawi-to-appoint-nottingham-forest-boss-in-summer Al Hasawi did hold talks with Mark Warburton about the managerial vacancy, according to Sky sources, but never offered the 54-year-old the role.
-
It really is - the likes of Sutton, Collymore and English are revelling in our embarrassment.
-
So we have MW on Friday saying - repeatedly - that he'd love to know where the leaks were coming from and now DK saying that the Board weren't leaking (though admittedly here on one issue rather than the ones MW talked about). I suspect both sides were and that the telling thing is that we had two sides instead of one team one working together.

I admire either your optimism or your youthfulness. I'm closing in on 60 and see no realistic ambitions of harbouring those again.
-
Fair enough Scott, fans of one team can play their entire careers for others, though. Either way though it doesn't make any difference to my contention to MacK/Pete that I never said I hated Murty, nor would not support him but that it was hardly unusual for fans of one's bitterest rivals not to be given 100% backing from day one. Bruce to Sunderland, was one example that sprang to mind as I was typing which is why I mentioned them.
-
Sorry MacK, I was just trying to make a "funny-ironic" point that the detractors had the name right and those booing the detractors did not. The winking emoticon was supposed to mean that I wasn't being serious there. All the best
-
Yes and that's what I meant about the story not making much sense. Why would they be that stupid?
-
Was it Ross Wilson for DoF? Or I guess that would be potentially more than "delayed"....
-
That's a bloody pity as I'm in even more dire need of good news now

Are you sure he wan't just being polite? I didn't see it, but it would seem strange that he would consider Scotland when his managerial ambitions are set at EPL then Barcelona. If we were throwing money around and in the Champion's League then yes but I don't think he'd see us as an attractive option. In a backwater league with a supposedly two horse race between two poor horses, he'd be riding a horse just rescued from being turned into glue against one that has had relative fortunes spent training it to its peak efficiency. It's a nice dream - even though it'd still be a big gamble - but in all likelihood we'll get a Scottish ex player or manager who will never get anywhere near sellick, will take our football backwards to the old days they grew up with and then be hounded out for poor performances and a yawning gap to septic just before the winter break next year - if, and it's a big if, we can afford to pay him off. Around that time the forums will be full of folk telling us they supported Warburton and were in it for the long haul with him. PS On another note - we allegedly got our loan signings in because of "the way Warburton plays the game". Their parent clubs might not wish them to stay if we revert to 'humping it long to the big man'
-
Yes, though a bit of the story makes little sense. That is - why would the three amigos play their hand so suicidally badly by not waiting for confirmation before proffering resignations?
-
Agreed with the first half. Why would Gio swap where he is for us? He's at is childhood team and doing well having won the Cup last year and currently holds a 5 point lead over Ajax. He is at his club which attracts big crowds, is stable, is in a more respected league and is heading for the Champions League. As for Numan, I liked him as a footballer (loved him as an attacking footballer) and like when he speaks of us but he'd be a big gamble. Then again, we are probably faced now only with jokes or big gambles. We really are not in a good place at all.
-
All of them, 100% for the first game and did those who weren't make others feel ashamed? PS Was he a Newcastle fan? I'm not saying he wasn't , I just don't know if he was or not and a lot of them certainly were against Bruce for being one.
-
Mack/Pete .... I typed all this slowly on my mobile and by the time I posted it, the reply above had come in.... Just to note - I never said I hated him, I said it would be difficult to support him 100%. Just as Sunderland fans found it difficult to support a Geordie manager 100%, for one of many similar examples. As for not saying anything when he was U20s coach = 2 points 1) I didn't know his background and 2) It isn't the same thing. I don't see why not wanting a fan of your main current and historic rivals as manager is something to be ashamed of as it just seems natural to me. Fans of clubs with much lower level rivalry feel the same. If I was at the game and saw him, I'd still applaud and wish him well, but “100%“ is asking a lot straight away I'd have thought. Even if you disagree, why would you "feel ashamed." And his name is Murty, not Murtie, MacK - show him some respect ffs

This being Rangers in the 21st Century, the answer is both "yes" and "no".

I woke up at 5am and an trying to get my head around this. It's difficult. The last thing I watched was MW's press conference. It seems to have borne no relation to reality (whichever version is true). What a pointless charade those things are. What a disaster this has become - and how unforseeable from this time last season.

Supporting the son of "an ardent bhoys' fan" who speaks of how strongly they appeal to him won't come easily

Thanks, your dedication in keeping us updated with these kinds of things is very much appreciated.

I take your overall point but actually it still happens more often than you'd think. Or if "contradict" is too strong a word, then 'vastly exaggerate the negative'. And sometimes they do contradict, there was one very recently but I can't recall the details now. Norris Cole posted an absolute classic from the past recently too, wherein a player from a Euro team's remarks on us were ridiculously twisted - as twisted around as the head in a famous scene from the Exorcist.

We haven't had many good results for a calendar year. Even the glorious exception was after penalties. Yes, I know we played them off the park but remember even then that Roberts inexplicably missed an open goal that even Cascarino might have been expected to convert. I'm not taking away from our great play and dominance that day but it was incredibly close despite that and in many ways that victory blinded us to the fact that our team that had produced little good football for a while and was being beaten away at Hibs and Falkirk before that game and which collapsed after it in a way that should have had alarm bells ringing and a re-evaluation of Spring 2016 and what it told us.

What's the other one? Should one become excited? Give us a clue FS, FFS

Can i Look Yet? Rangers v Ross County Preview
SteveC replied to cooponthewing's topic in Rangers Chat
He says things re players on the bench in post match interviews to let them know he's not forgotten them and to make them feel included even when they haven't been. It's a reasonable thing to do although when taken literally can seem unreasonable, as in this case. -

Ta, the difference between a contentious decision for and against us is amaing, is it not? And nearly all decisions for us are contentious.
