Would be a hoot and a half were he to be commenting as the winning manager... -

Fair enough - "They are a very, very, very good team with a very, very strong squad. Rangers are playing in a league that they shouldn't be playing in, it's as simple as that - anybody that knows anything about football recognises that." -

It sounds as though Oduwa was amazing at the third goal for McKay and then a peach of a ball from McKay almost led to the 4th. -

http://www.durhamregion.com/sports-story/5823558-ajax-s-luca-gasparotto-looking-for-first-cap-with-canada-men-s-soccer-team/ Ajax News Advertiser By Brian McNair AJAX — Luca Gasparotto is accustomed to doing rare feats at a young age, so he’s eager to get his first cap playing for Canada’s senior national soccer team at just 20. And he would like nothing more than for that to be on Friday, Sept. 4, at BMO Field in Toronto, when Canada will face Belize in the first half of a home-and-home set in the third stage of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. Gasparotto, who grew up and learned to play the game in Ajax, is one of just four players on the Canadian born in 1995, making him, perhaps, part of a changing of the guard. “It’s a privilege to involved with the national team like I’ve been able to at the under-17 and under-20 levels,” he said by phone on Monday, Aug. 31, the first day of training in advance of the key games. “Coming in with these experienced professionals, you just learn every day, on the field, off the field. I’m looking to go into these camps, learn as much as I can and help my game going forward.” Gasparotto, who turned 20 in March, is a centre back who has already represented his country this year, at a disappointing CONCACAF U20 championship in January. He has been invited to several other camps for the senior team and been on the roster for some friendlies, but has yet to see the field in game action. “Obviously it’s exciting being called into the national team,” he said. “I’ve been involved with four camps before and I’m yet to play, so hopefully I can get a few minutes and get my first cap. That would be amazing and if I did that in front of my hometown that would be even better.” Gasparotto was coached throughout much of his youth by his father, Dario, now the technical director at FC Durham Academy. He left Canada for Scotland at age 16 and is in his fifth season playing overseas as part of the noted Glasgow Rangers club, time spent primarily at the youth level, but also including loan-out stints with Airdrieonians in Scotland’s League One and Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship. The transition of living in a foreign country at such a young age was made a little easier for Gasparotto by the presence of fellow Canadian Fraser Aird, who followed a similar path to the Rangers. “At first when I was 16 and moving across the world, it was pretty insane, but it helped me mature quick and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it,” said Gasparotto, who has been living in his own flat the past two years. “Obviously I want to become a first-team regular with my parent club, Rangers, and be involved with the national team moving forward and hopefully get my first cap with these World Cup qualifiers,” he said of his primary goals. “That would be amazing, so that’s what I’m looking to do right now.” Following Friday’s match, Canada will travel to Belize for the second leg in Belmopan on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The winner of the series moves into the fourth round that gets underway in November and will include Mexico, Honduras, and the winner of another third-round tie between El Salvador and Curacao. “Obviously that’s everyone’s goal, everyone’s dream to play in the World Cup, and all the boys here believe we can, and believe if we play well and put strong performances in, that this team can get us there,” Gasparotto said. “But we’re not looking past anyone, especially not past these games against Belize. That’s the most important thing right now, is to get the job done.” Canada and Belize last met in 2004 when they faced each other in another FIFA World Cup qualifier. Canada won the two-game series with an 8-0 aggregate win with both matches taking place in Kingston, as Belize didn’t have a suitable facility to host a game at the time. In the current FIFA world rankings, Canada sits 101st and Belize 123rd.

Thanks Frankie. Injuries (which are a stick on given the premeditated (and pre-boasted) thuggery and plastic pitches we face plus the normal course of things and suspensions (given the focus on us and tarrier campaigns there may be many) are going to make it hard to cope, Also I am not sure we have a keeper that is reliable. Given the way we play (which is great, no question) we could really, really do with a Klos or a Goram for cup games against better sides. (I don't know much re our new boy though, I should add...)

I see Luca gets in as well as Holt andMcKay http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/spfl-team-of-the-week-21/

I am not ceding anything, as it has nothing to do with me. The situation is this: yesterday the scrote was denied privileges, today he has them with the Beeb maintaining they did nothing wrong at any point. That is the current situation. I hope it changes. At the moment I am merely reflecting on what is in the public domain.
-
We might, we might not. That's for the future, for today the Beeb have not backed down, the scrote is point blank denying Chris Graham's claim on twitter that the Beeb have backed down and the Beeb are saying they've always been fair. The scrote is back. Hard to see how any of this public face looks like anything other than a victory for the Beeb.
-
Sorry but it is not a 'comedown' by the Beeb at all, at least certainly not in public: "A BBC Scotland source said: "It is back to normal business as of this afternoon. We just said that we report fairly and accurately – both past and future."" They are saying they have never done anything wrong. We are re-granting full privileges and access to the loathsome, Rangers' hating Mclaughlin (he won't change, it's in his DNA and indoctrination to hate us) and the same organisation that attacks us will merely step lightly for a few weeks and then, at the first opportunity, come down on us like a ton of bricks with renewed determination.

I wonder how Hibs' wages compare to those of Dumbarton -
I think you should have included the "writers' " names: "By Tom Winnifrith & Phil Mac Giolla Bháin | Friday 14 August 2015"

I've had two. One was for "being a tim" by saying Green was a conman+crook, the other was more mysterious....i.e. huvnae a clue.
-
They are being offered one or two players plus cash so overall it could strengthen them were those players to hit form and they were to invest the money they get too....lots of "ifs" there, thankfully. The hypocrisy from HiVs is a further continuation of Scottish football's disgraceful treatment of us. Suddenly they won't talk about speculation having done nothing but that for weeks, suddenly they offer their player to the Tims having insisted for weeks he was going nowhere. C*nts.
-
Agreed, yet at the same time it sums up modern football very neatly. Money is all that matters. Tickets sold are far more important than people actually being there in the eyes of the modern game. I am working on Friday evening, and on Saturday morning and Sunday. The only time I could have seen a game this week would have been Saturday afternoon - they should try playing games then sometime, it'd be great for the likes of me.

ALmost: 90+' Ramsay nearly catches the keeper out. He whips a free kick in to the near post with a view to threading between Hamilton & the upright but it ended 2-2
-
88' GOAL!! BRANDON. 2-2. Hardie working the defence, looks like he'll shoot but lays it off to the onrushing Brandon who bundles it home.
-
sounds good, too: "80' GOAL!! HARDIE. 1-2. He runs onto Ross McCrorie's ball and causes chaos in the Hearts box before slotting the ball home on a tight angle."
-
Is Stubbs openly admitting here that whatever he guarantees only verbally is likely to be a pack of lies/just made up at the time. Some "dignity ", that....
-
Probably not, Rab, probably been the same for the U20 team for long as I can remember (and the top leagues in England, though probably for divergent reasons over and above the obvious UK 'cultural' ones) . However you seem to be getting quite worked up about it. You don't seem to like the board, the management team, the first team, your fellow fans on here or the U20s. What exactly are you a fan of?
