But is their taking legal advice something to worry about or is it just another irritant?
-
Cheers for that Forlan - but what about this claim? http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/1...M_voting_ban/? "SHAREHOLDERS opposing the current Rangers board are taking legal advice after it emerged they had been prohibited from voting over crucial decisions regarding the club.

It's just never going to end, is it?

Forth Road Bridge could be closed until AFTER Christmas
SteveC replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Hearts, Partick and the yahoos home games are all postponed already. I feel for fans leaving early due to Forth Road bridge situation and knowing there's an inspection to come when most will be en route. Also worried about the game being played in conditions which are bound to be levelling. Been so sunny and spring like down here in the soft South that the birds and the bees think it is spring, but perhaps you don't want to read that.... -
Disappointed in MM here whatever the reason - opposition is only one possibility, laziness or forgetfulness are others - but 0.25% would not have been enough anyway and the bit about "it’s believed he also holds sway over a number of minority, institutional investors." is unlikely to be true in a situation where voting for a resolution would mean diluting their own investment.

They would have but they want to see if the best young manager in Europe is prisable from Bolton or not first

A bold claim when one surveys the world. Perhaps it's an age thing, I had some vestiges of hope some 40 years ago as a 17 year old. They didn't last long.

I seem to remember he'd failed at St Andrews and got no degree at all?
-
He does indeed and this is one of those articles where you feel he knows what he is talking about rather than guessing. This reads very worryingly: "The truth is Ashley has been hounding the Rangers board for some time. Ibrox has been bombarded with all manner of secret threats, some of which may become public knowledge if the High Court rules against the Newcastle owner and opts instead to overturn his gagging order." Still, no doubt the SPFL will step up to the plate alongside the SFA to defend a member club, eh?

De boer banned from pitchside interviews tonight due to Rangers past
SteveC replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
More likely the timz hierarchy knew what would happen and requested this (and simultaneously made it look like they invited Ricksen) to avoid the inevitable shame it would bring upon them. -
4-0 now............ 63' GOAL! BURT! 4-0! His 2nd of the afternoon. Brilliant sweeping move by Rangers ended by a superb take from the 16 yr old on edge of box. https://twitter.com/RFC_Youth?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

"Rangers have signed 17-year-old Dutch forward TARIK FAGRACH - formerly of Feyenoord. " https://twitter.com/RangersCulture/status/669213542348910597/photo/1 http://www.feyenoordprimeur.nl/nieuws/619912/-weggestuurde-feyenoorder-kan-al-aan-de-slag-bij-nieuwe-club-.html Google translate: Tarik Fagrach has found a new club. The Feyenoord striker steered away started at Glasgow Rangers, says Rangers Culture on Twitter. Last week it was announced that Fagrach had to leave the club. There were several clubs interested in the services of the 17-year-old attacker. For bad behavior he had to leave the youth of Rotterdam. Fagrach this season, scoring nine goals. In total, he in 54 appearances for Feyenoord 39 times to find the net. The striker probably sign a contract for three years with the Scottish club. Admin - perhaps put a "?" after the title as all report on it come from the one twitter announcement. Sorry, it was in a number of places but they all quote the same source. All agree he has left Feyenoord though - chucked out of the Academy for being a naughty boy.

They want to stop us ever playing in Europe again for two reasons. Their normal obsessive, poisonous hatred and also were we to win the top tier and be denied entry to the Cl it would go to the second team, presumably them. This would ensure they always had millions more in earning per year than us. Level playing fields are something to which they only ever pay lip service.
-
I also wish we had a leader be it player or anyone else to tell players to do their talking on the pitch and not off it. For the last few years we've had a succession of cringeworthy interviews re "wake up calls" and "we'll keep working hard", "we'll fight to the end" etc. that bore no connection to reality. In the last few weeks we've had players questioning if Hibs had the bottle for the chase and making claims that we weren't worried about them because we were 2 points ahead with a game in hand. Even Warbs joked about this in his pre-match interview which looks even less funny now than it did we he said it. "Do I look worried?" We always seem to shoot ourselves in the foot immediately after shooting off our mouths, in other words.

Ashley Fails in Legal Bid to Interfere with Rangers AGM

That's still bloody bad news, then -

Memo to self, 'don't count on Ian for back-up at next Gersnet dinner'.....

In an effort to take the word irony beyond all known limits, Spence is now complaining about so called experts on TV and radio not knowing what they are talking about. The club should sue him over the above remarks, they are an utter disgrace.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley wants the fine thrown out by the court. BILLIONAIRE Mike Ashley has launched a second big money legal case on the governing body of Scottish football – because he’s refusing to pay a paltry £1000 fine. Eight months ago the SFA hit the Newcastle owner with a £7500 fine for breaching their rules on dual control because of his influence over the previous Rangers regime which was led by his right-hand men, Derek Llambias and Barry Leach. In June that sum was reduced to just £1000 after Ashley’s lawyers appeared in front of an appeal tribunal at Hampden . But Record Sport can now reveal that the bill remains unpaid and that Ashley is now paying through the nose to have it booted out at the Court of Session in Edinburgh. The Sports Direct magnate has demanded a judicial review of the penalty and the case is set to be heard on February 4. It’s believed the final legal bill for dragging the SFA back into the dock could top £100,000. A victory for Ashley’s highly-paid team of QCs would leave the SFA having to pick up that entire tab. It’s the latest in a string of overtly aggressive moves from Ashley as part of his ongoing feud with new Rangers chairman Dave King , the man who toppled the previous Rangers board. The Record has already revealed that King could face Christmas in jail if Ashley’s lawyers win a contempt of court charge at the High Court in London on December 9. They have demanded that King is banged up for breaking a gagging order which Ashley took out to block him from disclosing details of the club’s onerous commercial tie-ins with Sports Direct. Two days later, on December 11, Ashley will have the SFA up at the Court of Session in Edinburgh for a judicial review of their decision to clear King as ‘fit and proper’ ahead of his appointment to the head of the Rangers board. Furious Hampden bosses fear that case alone could cost the Scottish game a small fortune, even though they remain confident of winning given the weight of legal advice behind their decision to give King the all clear despite his tax convictions in South Africa and his previous role as a director on Craig Whyte’s Rangers board. But now they are livid at the thought of being forced into a second courtroom trial all because Ashley has refused to accept their £1000 dual-control sanction. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-row-mike-ashley-launches-6823074 It’s estimated a loss for the SFA could cost the game around £100,000 – a sum which could buy half of a new 4th generation artificial pitch, or keep four community coaches employed for a year. A source said: “Ashley’s aggressive behaviour towards Scottish football is getting completely out of hand. His personal vendetta against Dave King and Rangers was one thing but it’s now spilling over into other areas which could effect (sic)the whole of the game in this country. “As if Scottish football doesn't have enough problems of its own already now it has Ashley running around like a bull in a china shop.” So, the SFA don't care if one of its clubs is under attack as long as: A) it is Rangers B) they are not involved. Charmless admission of what we are up against in Scotland

A pal just told me Reporting Scotland are saying King's statement importantly admitted that some players would not have signed were it not for EBTs. What a pile of c@nts
