    The worst point was when we started regularly playing 5-4-1 in Europe regardless of who the opposition was. Pathetic. It was the most negative formation ever and we even started playing it domestically sometimes too. It worked a couple of times in Europe but on the whole was awful.

    We have won 1 out of our last 25 matches in Europe. That includes 8 ties against Maribor, Malmo, Unirea and Kaunas. I'd say if anything we consistently punch far below our weight in Europe, bar 07/08 and 92/93.

    We were brutal, same as every week. In 2 hours of play we had 7 shots on target against a team that could be relegated from the 2nd tier and has been losing far more than they've been winning.

    Nobody is interested in sponsoring the Scottish game. We were going to get a pitiful amount of money to rename our stadium.

    The last time Newcastle came anywhere near the CL was 2 seasons ago when they finished 5th.

    Surely next to nobody now. Even his few remaining followers seem to be waking up now. Even if it's taken them years to see it. I think Zappa on here is the only person I've read on any Rangers forum being positive about him since the game.

    Making money through being a success is certainly possible but it requires a long term strategic plan. IE the correct infrastructure with proper youth development, global scouting network, decent coaching and management etc. Then we need to start marketing ourselves correctly and getting decent sponsorship. Celtic are posting profits and the main reason for that is simply buying fairly decent cheap players and selling them on for a profit. We would be absolute mugs to go and splash a load of cash as soon as we are back. It would show we have learned absolutely nothing and I doubt it will happen anyway. In fact we will probably hardly spend much on transfer fees and end up with a very weak squad. We need to start planning now and the first thing we should do is get rid of all the management and coaches. I'm not overly concerned with how we do the season we get back up there, I'm more concerned about how we are going to develop over the next 5-10 years and beyond. We're certainly going to get nowhere fast with a clueless manager playing archaic football.

    They were closer to third place than fifth. They were still a top 4 club and I'm not aware of any rule which states they needed to be in that position for multiple seasons to be viewed as such. They were also playing quality football. Also finished 3rd in 99 and were close to winning the league.

    With Ally we'd need as much as that easily. With a competent manager we wouldn't need much.

    Given we have no scouts, make a lot of poor signings and don't have a decent manager, it probably will cost at least that.

    A decent manager could assemble a team to challenge them without spending much. Spending anything like that when we get back up there would be suicidal. I'd rather get hammered by the tims than put ourselves financially at risk again.

    I refuse to get a season ticket or go to games because the football is unwatchable pish and I don't want the board getting any of my money. Not sure why I'm bothering justifying myself to you, you are always the same on a Saturday, posting nonsense.
