A swing in what way though? They hardly ever have any net expenditure and usually sell far more than they buy. Basically the opposite of us.- 118 replies

How many times in the last 10 years have we made £20m in a season from Europe? How many times in the last 10 or so years have we actually made the CL group stage? Budgeting on European money we're unlikely to be getting for many years is the road to ruin.- 118 replies

It's also worth adding that the tabloids have printed a lot of 'war chest' stories about us in the last 5-10 years and it's generally not true...- 118 replies

I'm not quite sure if you are ever being serious or just like trying to wind people up. Are you talking about the same Green who ran the club and assembled the owners and board?- 118 replies

We've been needing this clearout for over 10 years now. Half of FF including myself was lamenting the archaic infrastructure we have in the early 00's. If we wait another 10 I doubt anything will change. We need to be getting things sorted now. I don't see why Wallace is going to be caring about the long term, it's not like he'll be here long. Also, we should have scouts all over Europe. Get rid of Daly and McCulloch and spend their wages on scouts.- 118 replies

Surely if he's planning on investing a lot on the pitch, first he will get a manager that knows what they are doing? PS - While King's investment sounds fine and dandy, remember what got us into this mess in the first place. A spend, spend, spend culture with few profits being made, paying over the odds and often identifying the wrong players. Whilst we will need investment to challenge Celtic again, you have to walk before you can run and we also need a sustainable business plan that will see us not reliant on Champions League money just to break even. Our money should be getting focused on improving our infrastructure so that we are well run and self sufficient. We need to get a scouting network, management and coaching team that bring on decent, cheap young players and turn a good profit, to keep the cycle running.- 118 replies

He deleted messages due to the legal action only to make a new comment on facebook with all the deleted messages . Is he being an idiot or deliberately trying to further irritate them? Either way it's not the smartest of moves and the whole thing indeed is getting rather embarrassing. He has enough support without making a clown of himself.

That's a cop out. They're all useless.

I agree on advertising the position but I don't see much better than Davies applying.
-
Who are these better alternatives? Derek McInnes? I'd like him but he did much worse in England. We can do far, far better than Ally but you're kidding yourself if you think we could attract anyone currently riding high in England.

Consistently does a decent job in a very difficult league to get out of, often with little money. Hardly spent much money at all in the summer but is competing against sides with much more resources. Forest were in free fall before he came back. Also, while he might not be doing as well as could be expected at this moment, he is light years ahead of Ally, who is barely even a proper manager and would be out of his depth in League 2.
-
On a bad run at the moment but would be miles better than Ally. Sign him up.

Those particular two players do look relatively alike in fairness. But he was standing right next to it, had a clear view of his shirt when he landed and was told by both players of his mistake. Out of all the officials watching, surely someone saw what the mistake.

48-Hour Wait For Duo (Law & Black injuries)
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Youngsters will always get their chance if they are good enough? Tell that to Ross McCormack and Andrew Shinnie. That surely only works based on the proviso that the manager knows what they are doing? Even if our current youngsters are inferior, which seems unlikely, we have nothing to lose and they have everything to gain. This is the ideal opportunity for several youngsters to be getting regular first team experience.- 43 replies

It's between City and Chelsea. I have a horrible feeling it will be Man City but Chelsea have a fantastic team and the greatest manager of all time, Liverpool have a weak squad, they need about 5 or 6 top players. But SAS are so good that they cannot be discounted. Their defence is shit but they can easily concede a few goals then score more as seen today. Chelsea selling Sturridge looks a terrible move. He's probably worth £40m + now. But I'm not sure he would ever fit in as a main striker in a 4-2-3-1 and Eto'o is doing a great job at the moment. Just a shame Chelsea didn't get Eto'o a couple of years ago when he was capable of rattling home 30 a season. If Chelsea sign a Zlatan, Cavani or Falcao striker for next season they will cruise the Premiership and be very strong contenders for the CL. They are in with a shout for the CL this season but Bayern, Real and Barca will be very difficult to overcome. Barca are not at their best but they will still beat anyone on their day even if they have a shite manager.
