  1. Rangers 3 - 1 Ross County FGS Morelos
  2. Its not a requirement, no. But its possible. It will be interesting to see if the club come out and explain the appointment.
  3. I think its potentially both what yourself and Bill have suggested and/or strengthening the team given the range of strategic projects on the go. That includes the possibility of Champions League qualification and the step change in funding that this would provide if we can manage it.
  4. Which they've known about for several weeks now. I get that there may be complications in that they may need to move a few fixtures around to make it work, but there is no impact on supporters regarding travel so really they have no excuses for wasting this weekend in my view.
  5. In fairness to the lad, he has improved each year of his career so far. He will soon outgrow Aberdeen if that continues. For me the issue is not dissimilar to that of McCrorie. He's a good battling midfielder but is he good enough on the ball to fit in with the way Gerrard plays?
  6. You're a conspiracy theory nutjob! Similar thoughts had crossed my own mind, in fairness. The only counter-theory that I came up with that made any sense was that there might have been a conscious decision by the SPFL to minimise the number of games in January to allow the players a little more recovery time after a hectic December, given there is no winter break this year. Even if that was the case, it would be easy to explain. But also, surely such niceties are dispensed with given the ongoing pandemic and the priority should be playing the games within a reasonable timeframe.
  7. Their PR must be raging. They were working so hard in the background to shift the focus away from Celtic's ineptitude and hubris, and Lenny has brought it all back like a lightning rod.
  8. Whilst we are on the subject to weird coincidences, Celtic have three games in hand yet jetted off to Dubai when they could have scheduled at least one of them. And they also have a free weekend coming up. I'm sure they wont whine incessantly about the inevitable fixture pile up towards the end of the season.
  9. The obligatory youtube compilation! My thought watching that was he was like Jamie Murphy v2.0.
  10. Davis for me. They deliberately congested the middle of the park to force us wide and Davis got us into good initial positions in the channel particularly, we just didn't find the right pass or get crosses in with enough quality regularly enough.
  11. Motherwell 0 - 2 Rangers Morelos FGS
  12. McInnes confirming that Rangers approached Aberdeen after the game on Sunday about signing Wright on a pre-contract basis. Also mentioned that there are board level discussions ongoing. My guess is that Wright will be on his way to use before long
  13. I guess this is as clear a case of "reap what you sow" as you'll find in Scottish fitba
  14. Right now its Goram for me but if McGregor helped get us to a EL final or something, and a couple of league wins before hanging up his gloves, I'd maybe lean toward Shagger.
  15. As has been pointed out, the issue here isn't about whether they were allowed to go, albeit there are questions about who and why the trip was sanctioned; but whether they followed the rules during the trip. We have all seen the photographs which clearly show that there are questions about the setup and whether all relevant protocols were followed. If they were not, the same rules which led to Killie/ St Mirren being punished have to be applied. Although like others, I suspect we shall see something of a damascene conversion by the SFA/SPFL and nobody will end up punished this time, with fresh rules drawn up in the interests of "fairness".
  16. Indeed. I was merely speculating. In any case, I say react to King’s words merely because that’s what happened and they contradicted him. It was odd that King felt able to project a Board opinion despite no longer being on it. Someone is being economical with the truth and someone also was selling something. I’m sure more information will come out on this eventually.
  17. Yea. I think it was a reaction from the club to correct what at best was a misleading answer from King and I suspect he knew he hadn’t asked the club’s stance
  18. For periods, yes we had them hemmed in. But we didn’t take advantage of the extra man and missed the pen so was a lot less comfortable than it should have been
  19. A poor choice of words. I was meaning that they ripped the rug from under the c1872 interviews where there was an indication from King where he said there wouldn’t be further share issues that c1872 could acquire further holding directly, and why they should buy from him
  20. That’ll do. Scrappy. Not our best. But 3 points and alfy back on it, is a good days work at our second hardest away ground.
  21. Unsurprisingly they seem to be swerving the fact that Celtic players are squad have questions to answer in terms of whether they followed the proper protocols when they were there.
  22. @FrankieDo we need to use a specific link to sign up, or is there some sort of sign-up code to use so that GN gets credit?
  23. Agree that didn't seem to make much sense and the decision making should be more transparent. Again though, clearer communication/updates would be helpful.
  24. Some observations on what I think *could* be occurring: 1) DK wants to sell his holding to the fans to protect his legacy having saved the club. His family appear not to be interested and that could potentially lead to them selling to non-fans when he is no longer around. Such investment is likely to be viewed as an opportunity to derive a return, which may or may not align to the interests of the support and thus may have a detrimental impact on his legacy. 2) C8172 are offered the chance to buy DK's shares but have knocked back the chance to take part in share issues in the last year or so, probably due to lack of significant cash reserves from donating members. Having seen the chance to acquire such a large shareholding which clearly aligns to one of the CIC's generally accepted aims/purpose, they hatch a scheme to tie in a commitment from DK to secure the shares, but also need to buy some time to promote the legacy scheme in order to drive new members and donations to fund it. The club however changed the goalposts at the AGM and subsequently afterwards, which has pulled the rug from C1872 and DK. They have then re-negotiated to maintain the commitment to acquire DK's shares, but allow them to participate directly in share issues over the coming months using the new legacy income and other donations as funding. As part of this negotiation, DK has sought a commitment from C1872 that they still are intent on acquiring his shares and this has led to the first £250k purchase announced this week. *If* this is indeed what is happening, I'm sure that it could be explained reasonably to members and would be accepted. However, my call for better and more transparent governance of C1872 remain. Until then, whispers and innuendo about the motives of the Board and associated helpers will continue to drive a wedge between C1872 and the wider support. The bottom line is that as a founding member and participant in the legacy scheme, I shouldn't have to be reading between the lines like this. We deserve better.
