  1. On the surface of it, a very concerning update from C1872. I'm hoping that the club and Castore have something up their sleeve and are working towards some sort of detailed response plan that will address the concerns being raised, but it also worries me that they haven't reached out and asked for a bit of time or explained what is going on in the background. There's no doubt that Castore have misjudged demand. Perhaps the pent up demand has been such that nobody could have predicted how it would go. But for me the biggest issue was they said they understood what it would be like and were planning for this. Surely a more pragmatic solution given the short lead time on the contract and the ongoing pandemic, would have been to manage expectations and explain how many of each product would be available, so that folk understood that there were limits to what was available. They could have then staggered product releases over the course of the first season to smooth out the demand and let them build their infrastructure in a less frenetic manner.
  2. Kent for me. But a special mention for Davis who has come in and changed the dynamic in the midfield away from JacKamara with minimal fuss. I wondered if he might be a bit part played this year but on current form he’s a first pick.
  3. Interesting that McLaughlin retains the jersey. Deservedly though, he’s not put a glove wrong. And great to have genuine competition for starts.
  4. I’m taking anything from the record with a heavy dose of salt - most of our business is completely under wraps unless agents leak info. And too many agents love to use our name to boost the profile of their client and stimulate other interest. ...or it could be true, I don’t know.
  5. Interestingly, Premier Sports took the Sellik TV feed directly. I tuned in for the final couple of minutes and can verify said references from Gerry to Fartson that "we" were disappointing.
  6. Hamilton 0 - 3 Rangers FGS - Roofe
  7. Suspect they may be looking at Tierney at CB. I’m not convinced but i think he would be more comfortable there than at right back.
  8. Throw in a sell-on clause and whatever other add-ons are typically agreed and I'd take £18m
  9. However, 3 left backs???
  10. Great to see McCrorie get some recognition despite having never made a first team start. Great signs of his continuing development. Overall a stronger looking squad than we've had for many a year.
  11. Lets see what transpires. I'm still optimistic the club has a valuation in mind.
  12. Disappointed if we go for a quick sale but I'm not sure how much, if any, down side that might provide. I think the time left in the transfer window indicates that we will be willing to wait this out for a little while longer - if his head is turned by Lille, what other clubs might come in for him if they think there is a decent chance of him moving this window? Pure speculation either way, I just hope that, for once, we get something we can all agree is a good fee.
  13. Not saying you’re wrong but he could just have been referring to the fact that if a club meets our valuation for any player that we would be forced to consider it. And by our valuation, I assume he’s means something that that is 8 digits and begins with a 2.
  14. I saw a tweet saying the bid was £8.5m with add-ons. Agree thats not enough.
  15. The noise around Murphy leaving seems to have quietened a little, or have I missed something?
  16. Regardless, I don’t have any complaints about the result but I have several about our players and questions about the manager’s decisions. If this is our preverbial kick up the arse then so be it. The scar tissue from previous seasons is real though
  17. On the H&H post match pod they talked about the Livi Assistant Manager David Martindale shouting at his players to “do him” on a few occasions. I didn’t personally hear the comments as I had the crowd noise in the background but I can completely believe it. I think we all know that teams set out to try and level the game by being physical with us. And let’s face it, it’s worked on too many occasions in recent years so I can well see why folk read comments like Holt’s and fear the worst. We are also poorly served in this country by referees who allow overly-physical teams to play this way, whilst punishing the likes of Morelos for dissent, even though a Livi player on at least one occasion was guilty of the exact same offence, but with no yellow card given. We simply are refereed to a different standard at times, and that feeds into the mindset of “here we go again”. In terms of today’s game...Physical play within the rules is fine, and I think Livi did that today for the most part. There were no standout bad challenges from memory. All we can do is keep highlighting things and keep campaigning for change in the refereeing community. Regardless though, we have better players and should have been able to make that count. We only had ourselves to blame.
  18. Agreed. But footballers are also mere humans and sometimes it takes a little arse-kicking/encouragement to get the best out of any team.
  19. Not convinced by that suggestion but I guess we just need to wait and see.
  20. With the likes of Docherty and McCrorie likely to move on it puts even more emphasis on bringing in another midfielder. Feel we need something different - more of a physical presence to complement the guys that are there.
  21. The SFA have form in inventing charges if they want to. Nobody will be surprised if they get nobbled though.
  22. Agreed. Its an evolution of our style. A throw back to Walter's days where if one FB gets ahead of the ball, the other sits and looks to cover if one of the centre backs gets dragged wide.
  23. I saw a heat map of touches on the ball from yesterday's game and it showed that Barisic was high and wide, but Tav was the opposite and most of his touches were in his half, with some pushing forward. For me it shows we are playing to their natural abilities - Borna whips in a better ball for the most part, whereas Tav is better in transition. Also, the opposites thing is for me just about balancing the team and not having both full backs playing high and wide, thus exposing the back line. However thats one of the reasons I suspect we often play with a double pivot in the 4-2-1-3 type formation.
