  1. Katic slotted in very well and I thought dove-tailed with Goldson nicely. In terms of headers, I recall him winning them regularly. He had a couple of crunching tackles and he stepped forward on a few occasions to clean up and feed the midfield.
  2. Great to see this finally confirmed. Hopefully we can back him with a few more quid in the January window.
  3. Bittersweet night with the late equaliser. Agree with the comments about the need for some fresh legs. YB were not that great overall, and we never gave them a sniff until we faded in the final third of the game. But we're through and we have yet more evidence that the squad is progressing. Barasic my man of the match, followed by Katic.
  4. The way these loans tend to go, as far as I know, is that the loan fee we pay is dependent on the amount of appearances they make. The more he plays, the less we pay.
  5. There's lots of players from Eck's time that are inour All Time Worst 11's given the financial constraints we were under post-Advocaat, but was there an exciting potential signing that you were in for that we didn't hear about? Was there one that got away?
  6. It was a strange atmosphere. Their support was quiet until Eduoard came on and they sprung into life.. They quickly got the goal but even then didn't really make much noise until the last few minutes. As for being critical of players... I was ready to launch for the guy behind me. Constantly moaning, shouting and swearing at the slightest thing that he perceived were failings by our players. Sometimes we all agreed loudly, but the constant barrage of "awferfuxake.... [insert Tav, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Kent, Arfield, Aribo, Kamara, Morelos]" was really grating on me from about 10 minutes in.
  7. I think they are different companies but I'm not sure.
  8. Nor will I. Cancelling the subscription is particularly difficult, and seemingly deliberate. So there is no chance I will engage with such a company again.
  9. Interesting that he called out Mike Ashley's behaviour in a more measured tone, questioning his judgement too. King doesn't do anything by accident so I'm curious as to what happens next on that front.
  10. I appreciate that, but there is a lot of misinformation going around so a comment to that effect would be helpful, I reckon. Perhaps it is more appropriate to wait for BDO's updated report.
  11. No matter what hat I wear, be it as a taxpayer, a citizen, a supporter... we deserve better than this from our public institutions. Nothing short of an independent investigation or inquiry will do. I am also slightly surprised there has been no official comment from the club as yet.
  12. Staggering news. At least this international week won’t be boring
  13. Haha In fairness we had come up against him in games so could easily have been scouts or coaches watching him in action for a variety of reasons. His talent was clear so no surprise he was being talked up for a move as he moved into the January.
  14. If Ross Wilson can find a Kamara or two every year then our losses are funded through player trading. A consistent theme in terms of what we need to get to from the various analysis of our latest accounts.
  15. Agreed. Just split from my wife too. Hope you are well, @craig!
  16. Would be a shame in one respect - you can see the benefits of him working daily with the coaching team and the likes of Davis. But if we can make the kind of profit we think is possible here, I think we should back ourselves to find a similar level replacement and move on. An early test for Ross Wilson.
  17. Morelos just because he won the game for us. But arguably our solid defending was also as vital and I thought Kamara in the second half was excellent at driving us up the pitch, as was Kent in buzzing around all over the front line, committing defenders and creating chances.
  18. I should say, these are the hallmarks of a "potentially" great Rangers team. Maybe getting a little carried away there!
  19. Lots of good summaries guys! My tuppence worth: Porto clearly had done their homework this time and came with a game plan to suffocate our midfield. Jack and Davis are our key players for starting moves and both were put under pressure much more quickly than in the previous game vs Porto, which really stopped us getting up the pitch and we resorted to lots of long balls from the back. There was the usual baffling refereeing decisions - e.g. the yellow card on Barisic but the refusal to book a Porto player a short while later for a much worse challenge. That said, Barisic had a couple of cheeky nibbles early in the first half where we was caught on the ball, but overall he settled and played well. Despite controlling the game for the first hour, we still created chances so I was left feeling that there was more to come when we could get Alfy some service - and boy did he deliver. What at atmosphere when that went in, I actually thought he had let the ball go too far when it happened from my view behind him in the Club Deck. Then to get the second a few minutes later, I thought that Porto looked like they realised the game was done. We are coming up against teams that have a lot of quality, so to keep things tight, show resilience not to wilt under pressure and to show our skills at vital moments - these are the hallmarks of a great Rangers team. Proud bear today ?
  20. I think in part the reason for the lack of focus is that they were released late on a Friday and it was the build up to a significant game in our domestic season. Now that we have enjoyed the aftermath of a fine victory, we are naturally looking back over the accounts. That said, I think there is a degree of apathy/jadedness (if thats a word) about matters financial, and I think its partly a chunk of the support wanting to go back to just supporting the team and not having to worry about these matters overly. Looking forward to reading @Bluedell 's analysis
  21. Thought Ojo had a decent game - was a regular threat and carried the ball well. Overall a pleasingly dominant performance.
  22. The difference in his performances now that his attitude is more mature is great. What are we talking about now in terms of sale price - £30m?
  23. He was rarely tested defensively, such was our dominance. So a good game for him to get under his belt in terms of building his game back up.
  24. Thoroughly enjoyable viewing last night. A midfield masterclass from Jack - really pleasing to see him continue to improve his game. Thoroughly deserved his new contract. Loved Alfy's petted lip when he was getting subbed. Exactly what we want to see - a striker who loves playing and scoring. Pleasing also to see Murphy get 30 minutes. We miss the clever way he moves and takes up positions to create space. I'd like to see Murphy and Kent play in the wide forward positions together - what a torrid time they would give defenders.
