Aribo looks sloppy when he gets pressed, but I think his positioning and importance in the build-up are underestimated. Arfield, I think, has been anonymous. -

An exquisite pass from Jack played through Kent, but his cut back is blocked. Tavernier also had an opportunity blocked. -

I still feel the above is correct. When he connects properly, it's almost unstoppable. But, it doesn't happen often enough. -

Aaaaannnnddd.... Kent smashes it into the top corner with an absolute peach. Jackass - He never misses an opportunity to show me up. -

Another atrocious ball from Kent. How do we improve his final ball? I feel like he tries to whip every ball with so much pace that he loses control. Can he simplify his delivery a little? -

An absolute peach of an in-swinging cross from Kent (!?) puts it on a plate for Goldson, 5 yards out, but he gets caught underneath it and can't direct it. -

True, but then it does open up space in the central areas. -

Tavernier is on the touchline and points where he wants it; Jack puts it on a plate. -

Oh, my. That was a stunning clipped ball over the top, from Jack, for the on-rushing Tavernier, but he takes a touch and the 'keeper smothers it. -

Yes, he looks very good. Could have been a penalty, but I would be annoyed if it was given against us. -

1-1. I don't know how?! We couldn't clear it and it kept falling for them. Their first chance and they've taken it. -

Close from Kent! He jinks away from his man, drives into space, jinks inside, and unleashes a good strike, but it just clips the post. -

0-1, Jack. It was a good move, but it was ultimately fortunate that it came back to Jack; he finished well, though, low into the far corner. -

BREAKING: Tottenham have sacked manager Mauricio Pochettino
Rousseau replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Yes, I'm intrigued to see. I believe he's tried to rectify that limitation by appointing a younger coaching team. I'm also intrigued to see how he works with Levy. Mourinho likes to spend money; Levy, notoriously, does not. I think they're looking at a Director of Football too. -

I wonder if Man Utd will make a move? I'm not sure Solskjaer is the one, but he doesn't deserve to be shafted like that. -
[FT] Rangers Colts 2 - 0 Wrexham (Barjonas 35; Young-Coombes 71)
Rousseau replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
I wonder if Barjonas can make the step up? He looks tidy, and Gerrard seems to be a fan. If we were to lose Kamara, I can see Barjonas taking his role. (Let me pre-empt the Polster fanboy(s): he too could come in, but I think a youth product would be a better option. ) I like the look of Mayo too. I thought he was quite good in the pre-season games. -
2-0 up with 25 minutes to go. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's the first time they've ever qualified? I've watched them a few times and Kamara looks a key player for them.

There we go again, using our power to take talent from the diddy clubs... -
I wouldn't be so sure of the destination of the title; Liverpool always find a way to screw it up. They should have won it last year, but then went on an run of inexplicable draws.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

The only reason Gilmour is anywhere near the first team is because Chelsea cannot sign players. Their track record of promoting youth is terrible. -

Unsurprisingly, I couldn't find a Hannibal Barca gif, so this will have to suffice: -

I've really missed these professional performances, where we don't play particularly well but are physical, tough, clinical and get the win. I don't think we've had that since Walter.
