  1. It's from the same person who told me about Umbro / Castore deal months ago. Not saying it's 100% accurate, hence using the word "rumours".
  2. But that's not a reason / excuse to say we should have retained Clement. Clement collected some unwanted records of his own before eventually being sacked. We were never getting a permanent replacement as the takeover was in full swing. The board went for the "easy option" as short term replacements go, but bo decent manager was going to take the reigns knowing that the new owners would appoint their own man.
  3. Holds back on voting until later #unanimousyousay.....
  4. Rumours are Rose has been offered the job amd is close to agreeing terms.
  5. Nah, the joint statement last week shows this is near completion.
  6. Palace run out easy and deserved winners.
  7. Hopefully "Big Soapy" will be nowhere near the 1st team, nevermind the vice captaincy - guys a liability.
  8. We're worse because of who we appointed. However, with hindsight, given the impending takeover, we were never going to appoint a permanent manager to replace Clement. Doesn't mean Clement shouldn't have been sacked. Our away form was horrendous and we'd been knocked out the Scottish Cup by Queens Park. That result alone should have seen him sacked. Just like under Beale, there were warning signs in pre-season of how bad this season was going to turn out. We then drew our 1st league game away to a Hearts team that went months without a victory (at one point we were the only team not to score against them). We then lost in the CL qualifiers and whilst we can point to Jefte's red card, if we are honest with ourselves, we never looked like qualifying. Most fans chose to ignore the red flags and even when we got worse, most were still championing a manager who was clearly losing the plot and clearly unable to come up with a style of play to beat SPL teams. In summary he should have been sacked long before he was but once again our board dithered and showed again, when it comes to football matters, they are out their depth.
  9. I think under SG and Gio to an extent we showed that modern day footballers can be fit, strong and relentless. As an example we defeated Celtic in extra-time straight after playing extra-time in an Europen game. Then defeated Hearts after extra-time in the final. The invincible 55 title win where we simply blew teams away. So much so, the odd draw seemed like a defeat. The players were mentally and physically fit, played a system that worked against Celtic and also against the rest of the league. We are a shadow of that team / squad.
  10. Not for me, 1982 until Souness took over was far, far worse.
  11. He did lose to Queens Park and made some of his own history in away games don't forget......
  12. Ah, the play the youngsters card so we can crucify them when things inevitably go wrong. Which youngsters are we specifically meaning here and how many times have you seen them play and what can they bring to the team?
  13. Oh it can - it can make you strong on the ball (just think Bassey and Aribo), and can make you faster than your opponent. The squads fitness is a disgrace and was something the Belgian Waffle said he'd address - in retrospect he's made it worse (like a lot of things). BF will carry the blame for limping to the end of the season with an unfit squad of players who've been conditioned to being 2nd. We sacked Clement (rightly) but due to the impending takeover were unable to appoint a permanent manager, so the board done what the do best, went for the easy option. Until we appoint a board and footballing structure who can get us fit, hungry and have a winning mentality/desire we'll continue to struggle. This board conditioned us to be 2nd best and some of us bought it. Getting exactly what we deserve.
  14. All down to fitness and conditioning.
  15. It's simple, we replaced 1 poor coach with another, what did we all expect?
  16. So how do you explain the start of the season up to the rumours of a takeover?
  17. Off course but they should still be good enough to beat the SPL teams. Well, if we had a system, structure and were well coached.
  18. Not so long ago we had a defence that helped us go an entire league campaign unbeaten, losing very few goals in the process and got us to Quarter finals of EL. A season later the fans decided they were all sh1t and demanded they were all sold (only 1 remains). Now the defence is the worst its been since Pedro was the manager and we wonder why? I'd guess at a combination of poor players and poor coaching.
  19. Target secured with 4 games to spare - contract extensions and bonuses all round.
  20. Does a draw secure us 2nd place? Just wondering as I don't want to set off for Ibrox if it doesn't.
  21. Bo'ness Athletic win 9-1 today to secure their 3rd consecutive promotion.
  22. Toil, toil and more toil. Sums us up since we won the title which seems like an eternity ago now.
  23. Rangers 2 v 1 St Mirren Igamane FGS
