  1. It wasn't the goal that broke me it was McAllister's penalty miss,I still hate getting beat by any team, National or other, from south of the border.
  2. The problem in the early 80's was that as John Greig took over as Manager himself not long stopped playing he inherited an aging squad.Their only success was the Scottish Cup in 80/81and although getting decent cup runs at home and one in Europe no further success was gained and after approx 3 1/2 years at the reigns Greig was replaced with former manager Jock Wallace winning the league cup twice but not enough to placate the fans and like Greig his tenure was almost the same. Wallace was gone and then came the sensation of Graeme Souness being appointed as player manager, the first and only one to hold that position in modern times. With him came a succession of high profile signings such as Terry Butcher, the then England Captain plus many more putting Rangers firmly in the picture. The retiring of aging players caused the problem more than anything as some of the signings were not to the standards seen before and may have caused a decline in attendances Have got this from Rangers site but personally due to working rotas was unable to attend many matches in the eighties..
  3. Very good but maybe playing on wrong continent:devil:
  4. I remember the Gray family William the oldest was a decent player,Jim played for Clydebank before moving to Canada,Duncan arguably the best of them all never played for a main club and of course the youngest Andy went on to have a memorable career for the Arabs,Aston Villa,Scotland and of course us. Also I used to run a school team(primary) in which there was a tremendous young player who unfortunately did not make,WHY? because he was deemed to be to wee. This new kid looks small but then again he may grow.
  5. Betting is something that I have rarely done and IMO is there for people to use. While understanding the position of the SFA I don't see where betting on football outside of the country you are playing in can affect anything. If proved that you are betting on games in which your own teams are playing in it's a different story and clubs should insert a clause of" instant dismissal "with no claim for injustice or final salary/cancelled contract payment.
  6. Does not matter to me now what happens with Scotland yet years ago I would go to as many as I could. A succession of putrid managers and now the "green eyed god" has totally put me off.
  7. Playing him up certainly a highly dangerous thing for the kid in a physical sense and could affect his mental state as well, but agreed that it looks more a publicity stunt for the green eyed media.
  8. It's getting beyond a joke all the guy is doing is getting negative headlines for the club let's get positive and get shot of him as IMO he is a liability.
  9. Pay as you go is not for me I know it suits many but payment meters is a step back.
  10. Stopped wearing scarf's years ago, have never worn or had a Rangers top and only recently bought a white "Founders Trail" polo shirt with logo on it. Doesn't stop me being a true fan,as for Saltire it is our national flag and should be used in conjunction with union jack IMHO.
  11. Good show
  12. It lives up to it's billing as I having done the tour can only thank the guys who put so much work into it. I am watching out for the tour going to Gareloch etc. next year and hope I can go on it if dates are suitable.
  13. Wrong thread Calscot
  14. I am signed up for all non league games and cup semis and finals, which helps when it comes to this stage of cup competitions.
  15. Got mine and interesting to see on Rangers main site priority is given to those who attended earlier rounds.
  16. American courts like their gun laws are a joke.
  17. Priority was given to those on ccc who attended previous rounds(see Rangers main site)
  18. Yes got mine and pleased to see on Rangers main site attendance at previous rounds of competition were given priority, this will stop many of the "Glory Hunters" from getting any.
  19. Okay that may be what he is trying to do but I ask is the loaning out really a way of giving him the chance not to see developement,as Hardie and Walsh could not be in a worse team at the moment which I doubt will help them develope.
  20. Agree with Tannoch. MW seems to support a developement squad but not make use of them.I still think he will get us on the right track but am somewhat disillusioned with him at times.
  21. Football is now full of "pansies" who know that if they run to the press they will get their 15 minutes of infamy it is no longer a "man's" game. If any action is taken on compliance I should think that department should be handed film/video of every game in the leagues and made to pour over them . There would be very few players left to keep games going due to suspensions.
  22. Can understand what is being said and the "boredom" of kids can come from the sitting aspect, which obviously nowadays is required for safety, and 90+ minutes is a long time. The old days of excitement when standing with parents and other fans are long gone and unlikely to return, and I must admit I often get bored whilst sitting even when we are playing well.
  23. Must have hit a sore point no comments.
  24. In perspective the scandal means quite a few are going to be implicated and some heads will role but as SKY/BT and the rest will still pay through the nose to show games and big money investors will continue continue to bankroll their"toys"so business will carry on as usual. In any smaller league set ups clubs would fold right, left and centre or be banned from competing, but at least the corruption down there has been truly exposed.
  25. Looks like for those like me who are on the ccc mandate may lose out on semi final tickets due, according to reports,to the increased numbers going into ballots. While this is grudgingly understood what I would like to know is where were all these "glory hunters" in the past few years when myself and many others followed the journey. I don't know if it is possible that the club could use historical information to reward the ones who done so by giving us priority in the ballot.
