I was thinking this afternoon after listening to the commentary of the Muppets that they probably will strengthen. I would imagine they don't want to go too deep into debt so i would think they will spend about 4-5mill. A centre-half will be high on the list i would think. Well they paid 3-4mill for Loovens so that doesn't leave much to improve elsewhere. We can pull Webster back who on form and fit is a 4-5million centre-half and we also have Edu to come back in who is probably a 3million player. I am not really worried about the transfer window i think even the Bank will realise they would be stupid to sell a winning team.

I am pretty sure it is only 10 points you lose so we are nearly there. We will just beat them to the title and get out of trouble with the CL money and good money management.

Sorry Ian you are seeing this from one side. Boyd has become a better player because of the criticism that he got. If everyone had said nothing he would still be lazing through games. I hope his development continues.

The thing about possession football is the tempo you play it at. If you play it at walking pace then you let 11 men get behind the ball. The trick is to be able to change the pace constantly and play the ball round at a high tempo. You also have to be able to defend high up the park so you get the ball back as quick as possible. This is a point where the Dutch say they love playing British teams because of the long ball. They joke that if you give the ball away to a British team they are more than happy to punt it back. Up until the DU game we were happy to drop back to our own 18 yard line which meant teams could pressure us but with the early defending high up the field we are far more dominant as we get the ball back quicker. You obviously have to have players with pace to play like that as in Beasley and Novo. Will Walter dare to play like that at the Mechano dome, I doubt it to be honest i would imagine it is back to the 18 yard retreat.

The Question is does McGregor make saves look special and Alexander make them look easy? If Alexander can anticipate a shot a point of a second quicker than McGregor then it looks an easy save. For me Alexander should never have been dropped until he deserved to be. I certainly can remember a few McGregor clangers in the start of the season. I can't remember Alexander making one in any games he has played. The fact that shagger shags women. Good on him as long as it is not affecting his football. As someone said we must be thankful we have two excellent keepers.

If i was a manager i wouldn't dream of taking a national job until i wanted to cut down on my training time. If you are young then you want the daily contact with the players. Walter Smith would be the right person for the job.

To add to my last post you have to have the good wingers in position. They have to defend well but be super quick to turn defence into attack. The same effect can also come from attacking full-backs where the midfielder covers his defensive duties.

On reading that it seems we have brought in another player who played one good game against us. I must admit i had heard so many positive things about him i thought he was a good signing. Let him go i would say.

Have we got him for the whole season or just until January? If we can dump him in January then i don't really see the point in keeping him. He hasn't really done anything to merit his wages.
