The life of a footballer is an extremely nomadic one. Sometimes they know they will have to make a move abroad or away from them. It sucks but this is one of the many reasons footballers get so much money. Well the truth is his form for us merited more than we were offering, and Bursa came in giving him a fortune. So he either stayed and got paid less than he was worth, or moved and got more than he was worth. I've decided I want him back. For the SPL he's simply marvelous. CL he's sucked in, frankly.

1: I'm not sure 'I want to be near my family' is an excuse? 2: He could be the King of Spain for all it matters and he'd still miss his family. Seeing them once a week isn't exactly ideal. I dunno why you're so hard on the guy for wanting to be with his family so much. Yes, at times he's made moves away from them, but I doubt he was overjoyed at this.

We can do better. He's not awful by any manner of means, but he has very much performed like the amount we paid for him. A fairly mediocre and unexceptional left back. The chance to sign a Greek international with Bundesliga experience interests me greatly.

With promotion comes responsibility. Ever been a mod or admin? You have a job to do - that's your primary purpose. Opinions are fine, but taking sides in a heated debate isn't really what staff should do - that's why they're staff in the first place.

I don't think any of us knew anything about Ortiz, a player from a relegated team. Yet he seems not bad so far. I'm not quite sure you can say Papac delivered us a league the last 3 years, he's merely an adequate player who's been part of this title winning run. But from your logic, if you don't know of a player we're in for, he's automatically inferior to any player in our current team because said player has been part of a title winning run? Kinda weird, don't you think?

That image is hilarious. Caldwell, admittedly, was one of the most annoying tims and deserved a right good smack. But it wasn't Weir's place to administer it.

The amount of times I've seen him run 50 yards to the ref, mouth off, then either get warned or booked are numerous. If the captain alone was justified in having a chat with the ref, he wouldn't get booked for it so often.

I'd take him - has to be better than Papac and Wallace. And if he's as good as our last Greek I'd be very happy.

Can't disagree with that. Ease them in, give them a substantial chance, but don't just give them 5 minutes every 10 games.

The amount of times he interferes with referees, or confronts opposition players. It was most notable when he grabbed Caldwell's neck a couple of seasons ago, but I've seen plenty of times where he got involved when he shouldn't.

Saw him this morning on ESPN in a City friendly. tbh he looked better than I remembered him being for us.

Once again a Rangers player/manager talks about signings and how badly we want someone. This is absurd. We used to call Lee McCulloch Rent-a-Quote for mouthing off to the press constantly. Now the rest of them are at it.

While we're coming down hard on the staff around here... I noticed recently I had an argument with one other user, and one of the admin took sides. Surely admin shouldn't do that? I had another argument (definitely a pattern here) and this time admin were neutral, which I have no quarrel with. Staff, admin especially, should never take sides in an argument imo.

Not true, there's plenty of criticisms of his displays in the past. Me and Zappa did a critique once. I've also criticised his conduct several times.
