It was just before I was born, so all I have ever known is the new Ibrox. There is a lot of mixed stories as to what happened that day, I guess in truth it's just impossible to know what happened as there were no cameras back then, and safety was verging on non existent(imo). We can only go on what those who were their on that awful day tell us. Remembering the terracings though, I would say it is a miracle that there were not more tragic incidents. We have to remember that after this happened it was only our club, that took the lead and built an all seater(except the enclosure)top class five star stadium. Nobody else thought they should bother?? The other clubs around Scotland still had thousands crammed in with poor or no thought for safety until the tragic events at Hillsborough and the Taylor report. Anyone who was ever in attendance at the old Hampden or the piggery will vouch for that. I was still young but others like tynecastle and love street for example were just as bad, in fact let's be honest, they were all shocking, crumbling and not unlike some of the places we have visited recently but a lot bigger!.

While they continue to peddle this pro portioning the blame guff, the club should, imo, not communicate or cooperate with the SFA/SPFL and have only minimal comms with police. The current government started life a small minority party and over time, politics changed and they(unfortunately) have risen to power. The perception that you say many would have Pete, imo may take a generation to change, convincing voters that it would be a viable, electable party with policies that appeal to the broader electorate, but politics is a fluid entity, anything is possible. Every waterfall stars with one drip etc. I believe the time has come for a voice to be heard that supports the Unionist community. Goodness knows the SNP have galvanised the support of the separatist, nationalist and republican vote. My ideas are only that, ideas, I simply feel it's time someone who is able to do so, should sit down with like minded people, with good interests at heart, and open discussion on it. I would love to see it happen. Then again, my opinion means nothing lol.

Rab, if you remember back to when we were all going apeshit and arguing over the european referendum vote I suggested the very same thing. There is a huge vacuum in Scottish politics for, as you say. A Scottish Unionist Party for example. A party that could cherry pick the best policies from conservative and labour and exist with the prime aim of getting the best deal for Scotland "inside" the UK, and outwardly standing up for and promoting Unionist politics. I can't be the only one on here with a very very bad feeling about where all this is going. I noticed also today that there was no reporting of what happened on Saturday on the radio. None of the channels. I usually flick through the different channels when I'm out and about, capital/Snyde etc and nothing on any of the news bulletins. We are at a worrying time as it would seem most of society condone that behaviour and are happy to accept death threats targeted at Protestants and mock executions etc.
