Bang on re Barton Craig!. It's not working and the two main summer signings look ineffective in Kranjar and Barton. The only other realistic option to try is Holt and Rossiter when fit, with Halliday/Forrester. One other quick point is that MW started with Miller on the right. Why?? MOH is sitting on my he bench and is a flying machine. What did we spend 500k on him for?? I'm aware it seems that all I'm doing is picking fault today. To be fair for the first five games I have, for the most part kept my counsel. We are now five games in and I think it's fair to air what are obvious serious concerns now, especially after a 5-1 gubbing. No more excuses are acceptable for me anyway. The honeymoon is over.
-
Agree with what you say too Craig. If it's a 2/3 year project then fair enough, that makes sense, but why layout on short term players bought so we challenge? It's not working. In all honesty watching some players today, they looked like they chucked it?? That's worrying and when you are at the game you notice players reactions off the ball as opposed to following the ball on tv. Genuinely, a few of them have up, started hiding and chucked it??. I'm only posting what I saw today, and have been alluding to in recent weeks. The last comment I have is 5-1 is unacceptable, it dosnt matter the circumstance. 7k bears, including myself just went to the piggery and watched us be outplayed and well beaten 5-1. We also watched players in a Rangers jersey chuck it. Unacceptable and we mustn't use excuses.
-
Completely agree with this statement. Objectively, if we were going to finish 3/4/5 why spend almost 2m on one player from PNE and bring in 5-6 players who will be on a combined wage of 100k a week?? No other team to in Scotland can get near that. Third or fourth we would have to live with but if it was and other team with an outlay which is second highest in their respective league, then second would be expected with the hope of challenging for the title. Again I'm not calling for anyone's head but if this was a 2/3 year project we would not have the financial outlay. We have spent to challenge or at least come second. We are struggling badly.

I normally agree with a lot of what you say JFK however today was a wake up call, for everyone. There were so many things wrong today but the main two are the defence(lightweight)can't defend and we are still too slow through midfield. I know we have been saying it will get better, I don't see it. I don't see any improvement whatsoever from last year. Keirnan is a bomb scare, Tav is great going forward but awful defending. I have been watching players off the ball for weeks too. Kranjar looks lazy and McKay looks uninterested?? Apart from the odd peice of class Kranjar since he arrived has been largely ineffective. McKay since the season began hasn't done much. if this is a 2-3 year project why are Barton and Kranjar being played or signed so we have to presume that they and with signings of Garner(1.8m) MOH (500k) Are being brought in to challenge for the league. We are not and won't challenge, it's not there, it just isn't. That's ok though, we have to work and improve. MW is definitely feeling pressure and that's the only reason I can think of to go to three at the back while 3-1 down at the piggery?? Completely mental! However what is insane is the hat we are still discussing why we are no further forward in our defensive frailties since the turn of the year, that too had to lay at the door of the manager. I'm not shouting for the managers head, that's mental too, however we have to stop this "trust in MW stuff" we have a right to question and we should question as he had and does make mistakes. If anyone thinks we have improved since last season you must be seeing something I'm not.

Ok. I'm walking back with my scarf up my jacket as hundreds of mhanks around me. Keirnan cost is two goals and looked nervous on or around the ball. Why oh why did MW go to a back three at 3-1??? No excuse for that, just suicide!. Then we had Senderos sent off. We looked off the pace. McKay is still rotten. Kranjar for a senior player was caught again being slow and wants too much time. Then loses the place. Barton was ok. People are saying we were still in it at 2-1, I didn't feel we were. We still looked second and they could have scored at will. Windass played well, my last thought at the moment is we keep slowing play up through midfield. It was a bit better today but not much. When holt is fit, drop Barton and play holt with Halliday, windass and Rossiter. Our back four are so poor at defending it untrue. That what happened today, to dress it up is just putting your head in the sand. 5-1 is unacceptable.

History can lead us to victory: Celtic v Rangers Match Preview
cooponthewing replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
After watching them scrape through in the CL and concede goals with a defence that's got as many holes as hours, I agree. If we play as a unit and move quick ball as we can, we can score at least once and to win we will need to score a few times. I'm quietly confident of a good result!. I'm heading over that way now, there a wee place I know to go pre match at this time lol?? Stomach is churning and got that horrible sick feeling, the same one you get when your missus puts laxatives through your dinner ha ha!! WATP -

66/1 for 2-1 McKay FGS. That's cracking odds you got compo!! -
Don't know Gribz? Eh being short for "the" me thinks?? Anyway, let's get into these moon howling halfwits!!
-
Time to get up!!! Cmon eh Rangers!!!!!! WATP.
-
Keep em coming Ian, lol!! I can't sleep anyway!!
-
You think so Ian?? I'm not so sure mate? Yeh I have a ticket so I will go, but it's not like a semi or a final where you are desperate to go. I wouldn't nor ever have been fussed about going there. Great if you get a ticket but if I don't then I don't bother. Maybe it's just me??

What I find incredible was actually a point the Mhank made re woolworths(wow, what a trumpet! Lol) anyway, so woolys went out of business and is no more. Aha! He cries, "so did Rangers, so they are no more" partially he is correct of course, in that the business, or holding company for the club did indeed, cease to trade. However at no point did the club cease to exist. I can't understand why they can't understand(ok I know why, but you get the picture) the difference between the "business" and "the club"??? I'm no expert in the business and financial world and I can easily distinguish the difference. The club was never affected. It's history was never affected. Ibrox stadium our home was never affected, the supporters didn't vanish(oh but many a wet dream was enjoyed by the soap Dodgers over the thought!) the club itself never stopped playing. One day, or in all probability, we will soon find groups of the delusional and psychologically distressed unwashed wandering the streets of Glasgow on a cold and misty winters evening, howling at the fucking moon!!???. Pmsl! Cmon eh bears! WATP!
-
I have to agree on the ticket allocation. I see no teason whatsoever to give them any more than we are required too. If the only give us 1k for the piggery in future does anyone really care?? We don't need them at our stadium, why put up with them?.
-
That was brilliant! "UEFA saying there a new club"??? Delusional and swimming in a sea of hate that mob!. Adrian Durham has stood our corner a few times. Great effort!! Hope he is made welcome at Ibrox whenever he feels like paying a visit!.

4-4 DB! That was my first ever old firm game. What a match!. 3-1 down, then 4-3 up only for them to equalise and make it 4-4. 1986 it was iirc? I was sat at the front of the govan stand and it was lashing down, cats and dogs stuff! Great game. You might be right about the score tomorrow, it wouldn't surprise me lol. -
Club 1872 - Board election timetable and info
cooponthewing replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Don't suppose anyone can find some sort of link for that interview Frankie? -
You make a very good argument DB and the way they have twisted the term "fenian" to suit their agenda. I must also say a great point RE freedom of speech. The point I have been trying to make, I guess, it that what you are pointing out is exactly what we are up against. A corrupt, nationalist state with sectarian leanings and connections with those who would happily see us vanish. Although I accept you make great arguments, and you do make the point well, personally I just don't see the mileage in giving them the moral high ground. We are behind the 8 ball often enough, I don't want to give them points to score or easy PR victories.
-
I seriously hope we use common sense here!. Any banner re saville/penn state etc will be used by the media to portray Rangers fans as insensitive, vindictive and to dehumanise us further. We would just be making a their day. We need to rise above it and hope outsiders hear the filth they sing and see the banners that they have and realise what lowlife, terrorist supporting scum they are. We should keep our banners around Rangers. I couldn't care less about them. "Going for 55, since 1872" and "you tried to kill us, you failed, never forgive, never forget" would do me just fine.

Manager says only Crooks and Dodoo unavailable for Saturday
cooponthewing replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
I like this team. It show good balance with Windass linking between Barton and Halliday and Miller up top. I worry this game could pass Nico by to begin with so would leave him on the bench. Tav and Forrester on one side and Wallace and Barrie on the other. Seriously, if this is the team and they all play to their capabilities, we will score, more than one, and I really feel we have the quality and the space on Saturday to come away with three points. Having said that, I would take a point, but this line up is a very positive one:rfc: -
Bang on. Its a minefield that has stoked division and resentment. Apart from the obvious ones suck as "Fenian" (directly targeting Rangers supporters) everything else is depending on how its used or sung or where it happened?? Was implemented to criminalise Rangers fans and unfortunately for those who drafted the bill it has also implicated many others which has caused quite the stir! Not what was intended.

Have to say it dosnt bode well if Rossiter is injured already, especially considering the historical problems he has with fitness. Time for Barton to step up to the plate. -
The irony of some people in the USA supporting a terrorist organisation is mind numbing by not surprising? Many years back not long after 11/9 I started seeing a girl from the US. She was a physicians assistant and worked in the local community doctors so a bit like a GP and not uneducated. I had a few debates with her over various paradoxes and enjoyed them. However on a few times that I remember on this subject, on asking why the USA seemed so blasé and hypocritical on this particular issue(Irish terrorism) she couldn't elaborate on her answer and simply smiled when answering "it's because we can honey" "we're Americans". I'm not having a pop at anyone from the USA just pointing out that many on various topics have no wish to gain knowledge on certain issues and are happy to follow like sheep.

Ally McCoist: I have no regrets over time as Rangers manager
cooponthewing replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I wouldn't be alluding that it was all out of the goodness of my heart though. Ally made sure he done ok out of it, just like everyone else that was on that grave train. You can't say people would have happily took the salary? Every person is different and every situation is subjective. You can't know how you would react until it happens. Nobody knows how we would react. It doesn't matter, we are discussing Mcoist. Everyone ain't going to agree on this, fair enough, that's what the forum is for:thup:
