  2. A MAN who lost an arm in a horrific train accident was on board because he had missed his bus home from a football match, it emerged yesterday. Rangers fan Garry Geddes, 21, was trying to get home to Buckie in Moray after watching his side defeat Aberdeen at Ibrox stadium in Glasgow on Sunday. After missing the supportersââ?¬â?¢ bus he decided to travel by train with two friends. FREE NEWS UPDATES 24/7...FOLLOW THE SCOTTISH EXPRESS ON TWITTER Mr Geddes appears to have stepped off the 9.45pm train from Glasgow to Aberdeen when it stopped at Perth station so he could have a cigarette. Witnesses said he was told by the ScotRail guard to get back on the train but carried on smoking as it pulled away and then tried to stop the moving train by pushing the door button. But he fell under the coach on to the track. The driver saw that Mr Geddes was being dragged along and hit the brakes. Ã?¬ Everyone loves him. Heââ?¬â?¢s just outgoing and funny Ã?® Ben Russell The badly injured man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where his left arm was amputated. Last night Mr Geddes was said to be in a ââ?¬Å?serious but stable conditionââ?¬Â after two operations and remained sedated. A fabricator with Moray Firth Windows in Buckie, he had written on his Facebook page just three hours before the accident: ââ?¬Å?Thatââ?¬â?¢s me missed ma bus back tae Buckie. Garry Gizz, Stevie Butcher and Big Daniel dramming it rite up.ââ?¬Â That morning, before heading off, he had written about how much he was looking forward to the game. He wrote: ââ?¬Å?Away tae Glasgow for a cerry on.ââ?¬Â It is understood that Mr Geddes spent four months off work last year after severing tendons in his right wrist in a work-related accident. His mother Mary and his father are separated. He has two sisters and lives at home with his mother. She was at his bedside in Dundee last night. Moray Firth Windows boss George Wright, 58, said: ââ?¬Å?Weââ?¬â?¢re all just devastated. 3. ASTON Villa have made a late inquiry to ask Rangers if they will sell Steven Davis before the end of the summer transfer window tonight. Record Sport can reveal the Premiership big guns received absolutely no encouragement from the Ibrox club, who yesterday booted out a £6.5million bid from Leicester City for top striker Nikica Jelavic. But now manager Ally McCoist will be anxiously counting down the hours until tonight's 11pm cut-off - hoping to hang on to his prized assets as England's vultures circle overhead. Villa boss Alex McLeish, having been told there is no appetite to do a deal for Davis, has now turned to Manchester United midfield player Darron Gibson. But sources at the club believe he may yet turn back to Davis if his talks with the Old Trafford fringe man fall through. An insider added: "Alex is a big fan of Davis and knows what he can do. "Even if he doesn't make a move for him this time round there is every chance he'll be back again in January." Jelavic's advisors, meanwhile, insist their client was left in the dark as big-spending Leicester fired the first shot in the race for his signature. Rangers unexpectedly announced yesterday that they had booted out a £6.5million bid from the Championship outfit, sparking frenzied speculation that Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is about to return with an even bigger offer this morning. And yesterday's developments have stunned the player and his camp who insist they were completely unaware of any activity. The 26-year-old striker was back in Zagreb yesterday on international duty, preparing to lead Croatia's attack against Malta on Friday as, back in Glasgow, Rangers made the unusual move of going public with the Leicester bid on their own club website. A statement said: "Rangers Football Club can confirm that they have today rejected a £6.5million bid for striker Nikica Jelavic from English Championship side Leicester City." But this came as quite a shock to Jelavic's advisers, Sinisa Soso and Velibor Momcilovic. Momcilovic told Record Sport: "None of us knew anything about this and we don't know why Rangers have chosen to make this offer public. "All I do know is that Nikica is busy preparing for the national team. "Is he happy at Rangers? I believe so but that's a question for him to answer. "All we can say is that there has been no contact from Leicester and no contact from Rangers so this has all come as a surprise to us." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/rangers/2011/08/31/rangers-kick-out-bids-for-steven-davis-nikica-jelavic-as-ally-mccoist-bids-to-hang-on-to-his-stars-on-transfer-deadline-day-86908-23384852/
  4. Ah,ok mate,it's been a long day,I need to catch up:thup:
  5. SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON will make a sensational Ã?£8MILLION swoop for Nikica Jelavic today. The Leicester City gaffer saw a Ã?£6.5m bid turned down by Rangers yesterday — but he's refusing to take no for an answer. And Eriksson will test Gers' resolve with a bank-busting move to land the Croat hitman before the transfer window shut. SunSport understands the big-spending Leicester boss has told club owners he needs Jelavic to bolster Foxes' push for promotion. There is Premier League interest from down south — but with clubs believed to be unwilling to go beyond Ã?£7m. The Ã?£8m fee Leicester are preparing could be difficult for Ibrox owner Craig Whyte to resist. It's DOUBLE the amount they splashed out to sign him at the start of last season. It's believed Jelavic, 26, is NOT against the proposed move. He hoped to play a part in Gers' domestic and European challenge this season. But after Ally McCoist's side crashed out of the Europa League the striker has lost interest in the SPL. His departure would be a massive blow to McCoist's title chances. Despite suffering a bad ankle injury last season he still hit 19 goals. It promises to be a dramatic final day before the transfer window shut at midnight. McCoist is still hopeful of adding players to his squad. But the club didn't make any offers yesterday, with their interest in Theofanis Gekas cooling — as they looked more likely to move players on. James Beattie looks to be on his way out with several English clubs set to pounce. Youngster Kyle Hutton is also hoping to land a loan move out of Ibrox for the season. 6. I don't mind getting loan players in really, however not if it is young players and our own don't get a sniff of first team action because of them.So I'm unsure about this lad as well as the fact I know nothing about him. When you think how well Ross Perry & Jordan Macmillan,[sp],have looked I do wonder why they were not given a chance before the likes of Kyle Bartley??,unless they were injured??.
  7. I thought this was Murphy from Motherwell!!!
  8. Hearts get pumped 5-0 by Spurs, the Rangers and the BHEASTS get dumped out of europe and everybody thrashes scottish football, quite right to an extent, but then Manure hammer Arsenal 8-2 and Man City hammers Spurs 5-1. These teams are supposed to be challenging for the EPL.It's a funny old game
  9. BLACKBURN ROVERS are poised to test Rangers’ resolve with a last-minute bid for Steven Davis. The midfield man only signed a new contract a few weeks ago. But with no European cash to boost the Ibrox coffers after their midweek exit from the Europa League, there is a fear the club could be tempted by big-money offers before the transfer window closes on Wednesday night. Rovers’ boss Steve Kean – who has already swooped for David Goodwillie from Dundee United – is an admirer of Davis and is desperate to boost his squad. Rangers manager Ally McCoist admitted in the wake of the defeat by Maribor that he can’t guarantee he will hold on to his star players this week – and even Allan McGregor and Nikica Jelavic have been mentioned as possible targets from down south. But it’s understood Davies is the prime target with Blackburn, Bolton and a Championship club monitoring the situation. Ã?¬ Blackburn Rovers are poised to test Rangers’ resolve with a last-minute bid for Steven Davis Ã?® If McGregor, who also signed a new deal recently, Davis or Jelavic disappeared over the horizon in midweek and no one else is signed it would be a massive blow to McCoist and the club’s fans who are already teetering on the brink of revolt. Gregg Wylde, who signed a new deal last week, has pleaded for fans to give McCoist time to get it right. “He’s why I signed again,” said Wylde. “If everyone gives him time he’ll do really well.” The 20-year-old knows the knives are out in some quarters after the Gers humiliating exit from all European football but he went on: “Ally’s a great manager to work with. “The players love him and he knows his stuff. “He has changed a wee bit since he took over although on the training field he’ll still have a laugh. “But when the games come along he’s very strict and that’s what managers are meant to be like.” McCoist believes last season’s SPL title triumph cost Rangers their place in Europe this time around. The Ibrox boss knows his club’s fans aren’t currently in the market for excuses, but just as the 2008 UEFA Cup run left the Gers sluggish at the start of the following term he believes the effort of grabbing the championship from Celtic has had a hangover effect this time. Then it was Kaunas who in inflicted misery, this time it was Maribor who heaped humiliation on the Scottish champions. “It’s probably similar in the sense that Kaunas were also a team, like Maribor, we should have knocked out,” admitted McCoist. “The lads who lost in Kaunas probably suffered from what had happened the season with that UEFA Cup run to the final. “I can remember looking at that squad at the time and I hate to say that I thought they didn’t look 100 per cent, because punters would think I was talking rubbish. “But the players didn’t have the zip or zest they had shown the previous season. “This time the effort the lads put in over the final 10 games of last season was magnificent and do I think that’s affected them at the start of this season. “I would have liked to have given them a far longer break and let them get away from it all but the fixtures dictated that couldn’t happen. “Last time, though, we got Pedro Mendes and Steven Davis in and we went on to do well and while we won’t get a Pedro and Steven to give us a lift this time we’ll have Alejandro Bedoya and Matt McKay plus one or two others who will effectively be new players because they haven’t played for us in Europe. “You would hope they would give us a boost.” http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/267726/Blackburn-Rovers-are-eyeing-up-Davies
  10. It's only normal to want to be dominant over your main, and only rivals, and to see them fail. However I'm sure the majority of Rangers fans are more concerend with what Rangers do than what the BHEASTS do.As for european football them failing does us as much harm as us failing in the bigger picture. I took no satisfaction in their defeat.
  11. Justice done if they get back in. How ironic that a team that cheats at every opportunity benefits from a team that cheats:)
  12. This is a good move for Rangers and Wylde,he can now develope his game and improve on his talent, plus he is Rangers daft so a good thing all round,IMO

Strachan's teams which were eye-achingly boring at least had a bit of heart and drive. And had a McGeady or a Nakamura to change the game. We've got no-one. ctually, we've the self belief that Commons can get something out of nowhere. Or Stokes can stay on his feet long enough to drag us out of nowhere.
