They were just very close to pulling one back. They're a good team. -

Don't recall ever hearing of that but heard this one mentioned frequently back in the day. Jennings scores from a kick out. -

Agreed. Caramel log would be a different story. Whole other class of biscuit. -
Looks like the answer to why did that plane go down. "The NHS says 30% carboxyhaemoglobin is a "severe exposure" - Sala's carboxyhaemoglobin level was 58%" https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-49345186#

Obviously a fan boy who would play for the jersey and gets how heavy that can be. But chances are the only way we could get him is if he runs down a contract and moves for free after accumulating a few years of EPL wages. Contracted at Sheffield Utd till June 2023.

We're swimming in midfielders and with the signing of Andy King imminent we must have enough to pad out at least 4 teams with quality midfield options. I'm trusting that all this has been well thought out and will give us the tools to win this league. Anyone noticed we're the only support among the usual top cluster who are happy with our team right now? When did that last happen? Over in yahoo land the panic begins in earnest as their support begin to insist that to beat them we will have to crack 100 points. No one appears to have tried turning that around to say perhaps: but does this mean you may have to crack 100 points to beat us? That would be a competition the likes of which they haven't faced in years and pressure the likes of which most of their squad have never faced. They're in such a state of panic a common notion among them right now is that they don't even want to qualify for the Europa group stages. They want us to qualify though. When was the last time that happened? While on the surface they're predominately insisting we're just a little better than last time the evidence actually suggests they're panicking big time. They don't want to qualify for Europa groups but they want us to? Bizarre turnaround.

I expect because Cluj haven't impressed recently. They were knocked out of the Europa at the play off round last season by F91 Dudelange. A Luxembourg team with a total value on transfermarkt of around £4 million. Beaten home and away for an aggregate of 5-2. They haven't made a group stage in either competition since 2012/13

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

If Tav is going it shouldn't be in January when we may be preparing for the final push on the title. We want to release such a key player at such a key time? No thanks. Next Summer is more sensible giving us some time to bed in a replacement with a full pre season. -

Another sign of the stars aligning for us this season?

I expected they would go through with a narrow win but this result still doesn't surprise me. I saw high;ights of their game at Motherwell and Motherwell were giving them severe problems with regularity. They're suspect at the back and I could see our potent midfield and front line swarming all over them. Their opinion of us over at kiddydale street is one of ok they appear to be a little better and they're winning but who are they beating? No one of any note. They need to examine that a bit further. Who we're beating so far is Kilmarnock who finished 3rd last season and are known to be difficult to beat at home plus hibs who finished 5th. Tack on to that 4 away goals in Europe to a side notable for being strong defensively and our season has been more impressive than theirs to this point. Who have they beaten? Anybody of note? Not unless you consider two teams from last seasons bottom 6 to be notable.

These guys have the same view I do, that this team Gerrard has built is better than even we think it is. The reluctance to accept that despite the fact the evidence is right in front of us stems from recent history. Some current stats. There has only really been one blip if it could be described as that which was the game at Killie but the improvement is such that an away win at a side we couldn't beat in the league last season is still considered a blip. I had such thoughts at the time but now think it evidence that this team will continue battling and being capable of scoring right to the very last minute in any circumstances. They did it again against Hibs despite the fact it wasn't even needed. They have been playing some incredible football for sustained periods across pretty much every match aside from maybe Progres away. But that was a dead rubber no one was really caring about. As was said at the time we had one team who didn't need to for it and didn't while the other did need to go for it and wouldn't. Both sat back and just played it out. Then in the next Euro game we hit 4 goals away to Midtjylland who beforehand were judged to be strong in defence not known for shipping many goals. But then people are surprised when we hit Hibs for 6 on our own patch? They weren't beaten because they went down to 10 men they were beaten because they had been outplayed from the start a brief purplish patch aside. Maybe Stevie G will prove to be a better manager than anyone gives him credit for. If he can convince this side that they can beat anybody and send them out there expecting to win against even superior opposition then that's a valuable managerial quality all on it's own. He was known as the type of player who would just never give in while he played most of his career in relatively weak Liverpool sides during a period when the traditional and financial balance of power in England had shifted and he still excelled dragging that less than top quality side all the way to ultimate glory in the Champions league. yesterday I felt this team were always going to score again even if there had been no red card. Even as the minutes ticked down before Defoe hit the clinching 3rd I was still always confident they would score again. The avalanche in the last few minutes also made me wonder if they are fitter than other sides due to this developing habit of scoring late goals. We still need to see this form carried on over weeks but I believe all the signs are there indicating this is indeed a new era when we can start truly believing we will win every game.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Judging from the transfer activity everything outside us and the yahoos needs help. Outside the top two only 2 clubs in the league have spent anything at all and their total spend went on just one player each. The sheep spent 160K on Funso Ojo while hibs spent 319K on Christian Doidge. Neither had any incoming fees to offset it. Outside the yahoos we spent more on Edmundson alone than the rest of the league combined. SPL TRANSFERS 19/20 -
Liverpool going to be losing Alisson for weeks. That's a bitter blow. He's worth at least as many points to them as McGregor is to us and just like us they could be facing a tight run thing.

If he is going out on loan I would prefer him to stay in the SPL at a side which has at least an outside chance of taking something from the yahoos in the odd game. Like Middleton to hibs. -
They're playing him in the under 23's, he's stepping back not moving forward. This isn't beneficial to either the player or Liverpool. They need to get him a team and the solution is obvious. They know what he wants.

Opposing forums disturb me a lot more than the BBC do. Some of the stuff you see on sheep and hubz forums as an example is actually often a lot worse than yahoo forums or at least the only one I have ever looked at and that's infrequently which is kiddydale street. They're in general more funny in their fantasising stupidity than vile. Sheep and hubz on the other hand frequently throw around all sorts of wishes and even threats regarding Rangers players past and present. Great glee at the imminent passing of Fernando Ricksen and hopes that it's as uncomfortable and undignified as possible. What kind of human being expresses such bile against a man they have never met and who did nothing to anyone but play football. That's Nazi like dehumanisation and it's widespread on their forums. To demonstrate it I just now looked at a sheep forum and sure enough right there on page 970 of a 970 page long 'sevco' thread is a post illustrating it. Posted 8th August. Talking about John Greig initially. They constantly wish bodily harm and worse on Ryan Jack and I believe we have entered a period where the worst of this is coming from other than the yahoos. Their greatest obsession is tax codes and administrations.

Peculiar logic in a game of football. Absolutely nothing to do with the varied skills required to pull it off. Nothing but a time span.
