Any player would likely walk away if the chance to play in the EPL came along so I see no difference for a manager getting that chance. I would wish Gerrard all the best for the future. And Morelos too when the inevitable comes along.

Good picture of Morelos in stampede/trample mode.

Police warn of rise in 'sectarianism & consistently thuggish behaviour' at football A senior police officer who spent almost 30 years in Northern Ireland is shocked at the "almost visceral" level of sectarianism in Scottish football. Deputy Chief Constable Will Kerr, who joined Police Scotland six months ago said they are concerned about how "normal" sectarianism and "consistently thuggish behaviour" has become. It comes as it emerged police are investigating reports of sectarian singing at Tynecastle - as well as coin throwing from Celtic fans - during a Scottish Premiership game on Wednesday. Footage showed an object almost hitting Hearts goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal during the game, which finished 2-1 to the league leaders. Police have not confirmed in what area of the ground the singing was reported, but they have urged anyone with information to contact them. Earlier this month, Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd criticised Celtic fans after being hit by a coin and subjected to sectarian abuse while warming up as substitute during the sides' meeting at Rugby Park. The problem, previously termed "Scotland's shame", returned to the headlines recently after Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke highlighted the abuse he received from Rangers fans. The club's chairman Dave King later apologised to Clarke and said everyone at Rangers "abhors the sectarian element that continues to be so prevalent in Scottish football." Kerr made his comments at a Scottish Police Authority board meeting in Greenock after being asked by David Crichton, chairman of NHS Health Scotland, if there was evidence of an increase in sectarian abuse and offensive behaviour at football grounds. He referenced recent incidents such as a flare being thrown at a police horse, officers being pulled from horses and others being spat at and attacked. Kerr added: "What I've been surprised at over the last six months has been two things. One has been that level of sectarianism - and I say that having policed in Northern Ireland for nearly 30 years. "And I've been surprised that the consistently thuggish behaviour of a very small number of fans is considered normal. This is not normal. It is a sport. "On both fronts there is a responsibility and a need for everybody, including the police service, to challenge ourselves about how much that's considered normal and what we can actually do to address it." When asked about data on these incidents, Kerr said it was "hard to quantify" and that his comments are based on the anecdotal evidence of officers policing the matches. He added that Police Scotland would "certainly not be going to arrest our way out of this". An independent review of policing at football matches in Scotland is due to be launched next week. Speaking on BBC Scotland's Debate Night on Wednesday, Deputy First Minister John Swinney said football clubs had to "show much more leadership to their fan base" on sectarianism. The cabinet secretary for education and skills acknowledged that the behaviour was not limited to "just two clubs". "It has no part in 21st century Scotland," Swinney said. "I'm not even sure it had a part in any part of Scottish society at any stage of our history. But in the 21st century let's get beyond it." When asked how long the government gives the clubs and authorities to address the issue, SNP MSP Swinney referenced the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act, which was repealed last March. "I know that act was unpopular in certain quarters, but in other quarters people thought 'Thank goodness the government has stuck its neck out'," he said. "We had that legislation overturned by every other party in parliament - against the wishes of the SNP - because we felt clear, emphatic, decisive leadership was required on this question. "We'll continue to do that, but fundamentally we expect the football clubs to demonstrate more leadership than they're currently demonstrating on this subject." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47406591

4-2 again? That will suit me nicely though the sheep followers themselves are predicting a 3-0 win. For us. As for my ongoing hatred of them they're about as vile a crowd as you will find even in the snake pit of Scottish football. Example. One of them created a thread for the upcoming game entitled "Aberdeen v Rangers" which was quickly followed by more than one of them expressing opinions such as this. So with that the thread title was promptly changed to "Aberdeen V Hun Bastards" And we're the ones fingered for sectarian sentiment.

The sheep are shite at anything but deep defense while trying to nick an odd goal on the break. And apparently against Accies they couldn't even do that. We only have to turn up with the recent form to batter them. How many of us if any would have believed we would score 14 goals with no reply in the next three games after the St Johnstone disappointment. I can't recall 3 consecutive games with form like that this season. Hoping that's what we're going to get consistently. Kamara is a game changer for us so far.

So it’s obvious we need them to be dropping points while we go in a winning run. As it stands they have to be favourites for the title and if that’s the case I will content myself with a comfortable second place. Comfortable meaning a clear clear gap at least similar to the current gap between us and third. A minimum second if that’s the way it pans out should be secured with a couple of games or so remaining.

Viewing this timplosion one wonders what the hysteria would be like if we were to win the Scottish cup and league.

It would appear to be a possibility that this has been on the cards for weeks and certain people on the inside knew about it. Even Moussa Dembele is tweeting from France something along the lines of 'told you" So presuming Lennon was one of those 'in the know' he then craftily extricated himself from hubz in bizarre circumstances. No real explanation of why while not sacked and didn't resign? Brenda in turn extricated himself at the perfect time. He had won every domestic trophy he competed for there but that was effectively accomplished with little in the way of realistic opposition. That's changing and he knew it.
-
I'm hoping Alfie stays one more season. He's getting better all the time so maybe next season we would see something considerably closer to the finished article. But deep inside I suspect he may be gone in the Summer.
-
How interesting, convenient? that Lennon so recently extricated himself from a sinking hubz.

Accies are relegation struggler but it's still an impressive result. Five different goal scorers while our top marksman wasn't even on the pitch and that's as many goals as Accies lost in their previous 3 games combined. The team is beginning to click. But I and probably all of us still fear the inconsistency popping up again. Need another rout of Dundee to encourage me before moving on to the sheep.

If they fire their manager the new guy will have to come into a no new additions situation until Summer 2020.

Celtic fans and Spanish police this evening

The cops are urging them to back off, simply go away from here. To avoid the response they’re getting that’s all they have to do but some seem to want to goad them into the response they’re getting. -
Hibs to increase Rangers and St Pat’s Easter Road ticket allocation
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Hardly surprising. As soon as it became apparent they were going to be in a battle to make top 6 at best their following lost interest. And their crowds will be even lower after the split if they don’t make the top 6. if it were up to me we would take no one there. If their own fans won’t pay the bills don’t expect us to pay them after all the mindless bile they have directed at Rangers. -
So I was wrong about Clarke focusing all his ire on the ref after an Alfie inspired 5-0 drubbing. For Clarke chants from crowd were the biggest talking point of this match. And being startled by something that has existed in Scotland since before the OF existed is pretty vacuous. Where has he been for the past 160 years or so? And if he took a good look around he would find this mentality exists in his own support and on the streets too entirely detached from football. And that's what I expect a football manager to talk about after a game. The football not an irrelevant chant.

They're congregating in noisy drunken rabbles which many people find obnoxious and intimidating then back chatting Spanish cops who are renowned for taking no back chat. You reap what you sow but I have no doubt another victim card will soon be trotted out. -
McKenna must already be having nightmares about tangling with Alfie again especially if he watched this. Alfie was just bullying them no end. He's incredibly strong for a guy who isn't so big and just can't be pushed off the ball. McKenna's only hope is to perfect his strategy of getting Alfie red carded. Fluffed the last one when he went off with him.
