The Germans have already played 9 pre-season games! I was under the impression the British leagues started the earliest of the big European leagues. Are Nurnberg playing European qualifiers or do they just have a different approach to pre-season? Seems like a lot of games.

He's not as bad as made out. You don't play regularly in the EPL and for the national team if you are a bad player. Has struggled since his first half season and I think fans get on his back because he epitomises Walter's negative mind set with strength and aerial power his attributes rather than pace and skill.

Sorry, maybe that's what it said. WIll have a look and reply here. Edit: Original source did indeed say Ryan not Steven Taylor.
-
Veritable hot bed of Rangers insider info down here. Only fee i've seen is £750k, but think that came from a fans suggestion rather than the rumour source. Could well be bollocks guys, I think it might be.

Lol,quality timing.
-
He would have to go some to become first choice from where his now but injury free, as Craig says, he gives us more options.
-
Agree with the last two points very much. He has earned the right to be first choice at the minute. Be that with KL or KM. And as you say if it doesn't work, we have options.

A guy says he's heard this. Source Ryan Taylor of Newcastle. Played with Lee at Wigan. Apologies if pish.

Celtic play Dinamo Moscow this Wednesday with the return a week later I believe. We might found out if BD is correct soon.

On tv today? Been a while since I watched any football and I expect Spurs to beat them.
-
I'd love it someone could actually prove/disprove this. It gets trotted out a lot but i'm not 100% convinced, though I do tend to it perhaps being correct. With more mobile forwards we might well create more chances. If we are taking a smaller percentage of them, though, what's the point?

Need to finish writing this pre-season peice today. When I get that don'e i'll start looking at this unless you decide to take it on.

I think if he can get over his injuries Naismith will prove to be a quality footballer.

I thought I saw that at 4-1 in the pub but thought it couldn't be right.

That left foot strike past Boruc must be a figment of my imagination. :box: It's almost as if you are desperate for him not to succeed at "that level". He's missed two good chances "at that level" but really hasn't had a fair go. I don't think it's been decided either way if Boyd can play at that level. The top of the European game may be beyond him Celtic, I think, are certainly not.

I know some posters only use this forum and often ignore some of the others, so might be a good idea to keep it here so more people get a chance to see it.

:box: I was responding to previous posters suggestions. It's clear Boyd's contribution isn't appreciated. He could score a hat trick in each Old Firm game and he's still struggle to get a nomination.
-
Who? Anyone remember him playing us?
-
Was just trying to point out that it's not all footballers who get away with breaking the law, but they certainly seem more lenient to your Terry's, Gerrard's and Shearer's.
-
Tell them to stick it up there arse. Further to my previous complaint about Adam's fee I note today that a £3mil offer has been accepted by Sunderland from Stoke for Whitbread.

That will be the desktop pic I have out of date now. Still not sorted out getting ESPN.

Boyd wont win it. To me POTY means the player who has made the greatest contribution to the team over the season. With Boyd's goals you and even assists last year you could reasonably say that he made the greatest contribution last year. However I think most people, when they think of POTY, think it must be the most skillful/silky player in the team. That's why a player who shows glimpses of quality in several small flashes throughout the year will get it over a guy who is a consistent 7/10 all year. Look at Bougherra missing out last year. Not even nominated by the SPFA or the football writers (1 bad game all year and a few excellent performances, but defenders aren't as flashy as attackers). For the reasons above Boyd will never get a players award, at the club or within the league. If he was going to he would have won one by now. I'll plump for Davis. Though there are several other good contenders including Thomson, Mendes and Bougherra if we keep him.

The aim of football is winning games. How you do it is immaterial (within the laws of the game). With the quality of this competition being the highest of club competitions the world over and a whole let stronger than the SPL. The financial rewards and the improvement to the co-efficient (which can have cyclical improvement on finances, squad improvement, European progression and the co-efficient) are paramount to any club in European competition. If playing defensive counter-attacking football makes us more succesful bring it on. Home and Away. I enjoyed knocking Fiorentina, Werder Bremen and other big names out of Europe on the way to Manchester and look forward to more scalps this year. Even if we get some sour grapes about "anti-football". My response would be giruy. Football is about winning!!!!!

If we gave him a bowl of ice-cream every time he scored a goal he'd be a right fat bastard.

In light of your entire post should your first line have read: "famous footballer who plays in the England National team"???
