Nothing to do with a Rangers fan, don't particularly associate with the protestant faith or even unionism (I don't even know if that is the correct term) or anything like that. In a debate completely removed from what football team I support I find a lot of the opinions the catholic religion and therefore the nonsense that comes from its head spokesperson quite unpalatable. I know in today's society we all have to buy into this mock offence of things that really aren't that important. Sectarianism and the battle with bigotry is just a way of McConnel's government and now his succesors to deflect from all the major failings of the way they run the government. It allows them to get a lot of good press from various vocal sources and prevents out press from taking a look at the real issues with our government and our society. In short it's a fucking nonsense. As I say, who cares if people say ***. There's a lot related to this man and his religion's public image and statements that people should rightly deride. The fact that a football ground is not the right place for this, and the motives of those doing it is questionable, does not detract from the fact that this is all part of the government's great plan to deflect from real issues and helps the media sell papers, gain viewers and listeners and generally helps them increase their exposure. It has fuck all to do with battling bigotry. If this was evidence of an underlying current of sectarianism and bigotry in society, and the motives of the politicians and the media were true then people might take it seriously. In truth these issues are not that widely spread in society. Most people in society mingle with those of other faiths and football teams without issue or even caring about it. Quite why so much money, time and energy is ploughed into a complete non-problem is baffling and how this fact is not more widely challenged I do not know. Just my opinion and I'm sure many will pick holes in my opinions and arguements. I do however beleive for the most part i'm right. Frankly if a few people decide to shout distasteful comments whilst consumed with the mob mentality of being within a large sports crowd really isn't worthy of so much scrutiny, money, time and effort and merely detracts from the real causes and reasons for what is a fairly small society wide problem. The war on sectarianism is a money wasting sham

Tbh I don't see why. Quite a few unsavoury opinions from him and his religion. Telling someone who is contributing to the spread of aids in Africa or who thinks everyone who doesn''t share his beliefs to fuck off is not the same as supporting a terrorist organisation. It quite astonishing that we have allowed our society to brain wash everyone into thinking the former is totally unacceptable whilst giving the latter tacit approval.

He still looked vulnerable. Looked more like a case of Celtic failing to take advantage than Dailly looking solid. Couple that with the fact that he was the worst player on the field in both of our previous two fixtures and it has me concerned. Agree with the poster who, on the Stevie Smith thread, said he was one of our worst performers. Just because he did not get found out in the last match does not mean we should not be looking to play a better player in their natural position in his place. He was not overly troubled at the back, but was still poor going forward. Doesn't offer an option to Davis, doesn't overlap, his crossing and passing are poor. Poeple talk about his fitness, but he is either lacking in pace, initial acceleration or reading of the game as in each of the recent games he has been tricked into or forced to make despairing lunging slide tackles as an opposition player attempts to skip by him.

Another appearance for Dailly then? Why wont Smith do the obvious things and put Smith at LB, keep Whittaker at RB and play a LM at LM. All this shuffling of the pack to keep accomodate our worst player at RB.

As we all do mate.

3 games after how far they've come this year. I would be hammering that into the players. Leave nothing out on the field after each game. Give everything you can give in each of the games and the league is ours.

It appears you need to do some reading on the subject to educate yourself Craig.

They look like some dodgy swimming trunks with a Celtic badge stuck on.

Interesting comments from Strachan. Seems to think they were awesome at the weekend but just couldn't finish. I'll echo Frankie and Gazza's sentiments.

Will get it up after the game tonight or early tomorrow morning then. As I said what I would write now could be very different from what I would say after tonights fixture.

Been to be busy enjoying the OF victory to remember i'm next up. Can get it up later to day, or hold off til the Celtic game is done tonight as they could affect the content?

Ha ha. You know what mate, it pushes them close.

Does SPL style not also include an exemption of voting for players in blue jerseys?

It best not be anything like that foul England shirt which is one of the worst football shirts I have ever seen. Ever!

Was just a dig at the papers for making a big deal of their reserves winning their league and the BBC actually including news about their women's team on their main club page. Must be struggling for positive stories about their first team. Do not expect to see this get any great coverage. Though had the other mob won.

Have Real turned their attentions elsewhere?

Poor stint? 5 months is more of a stint imo.

Csaba Laszlo. Possibly the first correct decision for an awards panel yet? Who actually decides these one's?

Gob shite!

There was me thinking i'd started a "clutching at straws thread" and Chick sees my thread and raises me this. He had a good half hour to impact the game and all he managed was missing their best chance. Clearly him not starting is what cost them.

To add to the mockery of their friends in the media trying to make themselves feel better by awarding their players undeserved awards, we now have the BBC telling us they've gone top of the table. That's right, Celtic's womens team have gone top of their http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/women/8042933.stm: I dunno about the rest of you but it really hurts to see their ladies flying high. (Edit: This isn't just in the "Women's" section on the sport website but in with the main news stories if you click on the SPL or celtic.) I'm pretty sure with their youth team no longer top dogs the printed media started making a big deal out of the reserve league when usually it passed by almost unnoticed. It's good to see these sort of big news stories as it's a clear indication we're on our way to the big prizes.

The truth of your post there Norris is a bitter pill to swallow. It is by no means a given, but should they win this league (now looking much less likely than had they gotten a result at the weekend) we may have struggled to compete for a number of years. We would likely weaken our team season on season to balance the books whilst they would be in a position to strengthen. Making them stronger relative to us each year, probably winning the league and the vicious cycle continuing.
