Funny peice in local aberdeen paper (old flat mate sent it). http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/1035240?UserKey= Was also talking to him about Duff's shock inclusion and Aluko being taken off when hitting Celtic on the break with pace looked like there biggest threat. he reffered to "Tango's tactical tombola"! Quality phrase for it.

Didn't want to ruin the growing feel good factor, but it was kinbd of relevant to what you were saying and something that occurred to me recently.
-
Don't get me wrong, i'm not ignoring games like Lyon away, which might work in our favour of getting a decent fee, but other than that you struggle to name games where he's made an impact.
-
Could we get rid and how much for? We're desperate to generate a sale and Beasley would be near the top of my list in any case. For the left mid spot Naismith, Fleck and Aaron have all show more recently. For a small tricky winger, he does not demonstrate any of the attributes you would expect; pace, beating a man, hitting the bye line. He is very negative for a winger, runs up to his man then turns around and passes back to Papac. He is weak, needs too much time and space and is not suited to the game up here. Even his supporters ahve stated their are games they wouldn't play him as he can be bullied out of games. Never mind the 3 listed above, I would play Adam ahead of him too personally. Even if you wouldn't though, he is surely at best 4th in line for a left mid spot and hence surplus to requirments. With our need to get a godo transfer fee it surely makes good finanicial and football sense. Bearing in mind he has CL experience with PSV, PL experience with Man City and international experience surely we could ask for a couple of mil for him? How was his time with PSV? Would anyone in Holland take him? Or even anyone down south? If we could move him on for a reasonable fee wee might not need to sell a key squad member.

What is a sackable offence for a Rangers manager?
Super_Ally replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
It was wee joke because I couldn't be bothered to get into the whole PLg debate again. Fucking terrible Rangers manager who we were lucky to get shot of as quickly as we did. Why people still pine for such an incompetent (at Rangers) is baffling and I couldn't be bothered with a massive rant about why he was shit. -
Loan from Marseille, in express apparently. Anyone know of him? Been on laon to Toulouse.

I didn't just credit Smith. I have fully admitted he's made mistakes. I'm not saying he hasn't. In the Advocaat era it's widely accepted that Murray took the blame for sanctioning reckless spending. Whilst the manager shares that blame, surely that applies here too? As I say, shared blame. Paying Bain, an incompetent, wages of £500k. Paying Hutton a reported £1mil from his transfer fee to push him out the door. Spending no doubt a fortune on media house for PR and then not effectively using their services. More wasted money. Just a couple of examples of where murray is fucking up the finances. -

First comment was stupid, but suffering a massive hangover and not thinkin g straight. I made a mistake, i'm not going to cry over it. I've forgotten things before and said stupid things before and will n odoubt do so again. Doesn't give you a right to behave like an arsehole. The gist of my point anyway is that Walter Smith is hugely succesful in terms of what he ahs won. Yes has made mistakes, lots of big ones. But the abuse is getting out of hand and is disproportionate to what he deserves. Football fans are fickle I know that. But sometimes continual negt=ativity just gets annoying. -

You think Murray is in no way in charge of the finances at the club and is in no way to blame if they are not sound? -

That's not what I was doing. You started off talking about the state of our finances and how we have gone from a relatively strong position to a weak one. If you're going to blame Walter for the negatives with getting knocked out of Europe and some poor transfers thsi year, by the same token we can credit him for the finances the Euro run generated and helping Hutton rediscover the form that brough us a £9million transfer and bringing in Cuellar to generate £6mil profit. I was merely trying not to solely blame Smith for the finances but the Chairman too. It now appears you are determined to lay it all at smith's door. -

Is he not Not a good day for me is it. : it's got fuck all to do with Murray though so cut the patronising shit. -
Bent just missed an absolute sitter of a header. That's cost me about £85.
-
Shocker of a result. Some weekend for Aberdeen.
-
Well I cant rant at the real Chick. Lol.

I'm not absolving Smith of his share of the blame, but i'm not sure we can ignore Murray when it comes to the state of the finances. -

Without really wanting to get into this again any man who buys Sebo does not deserve a second chance. -
My enthusiasm for the game and for our title challange has just soared. From staring at 4iar, when we nearly went 10 points behind, to going to Pittodrie with the chance to (albeit probably briefly) go top. If we have a team of winners they will relish this game and this opportunity.
-
I was thinking of writing a peice that touched on this. Along with our inability of recent seasons to capitalise on Celtic slip ups and to put pressure on them when opportunities are presented, the fact that we have a superior goal difference but are behind on points also suggests a lack of character. It means we are winning the easier games handsomely to gain a better goal difference, but with Celtic's superior points total it suggests that they are picking up more points in tighter games, drawing when we would lose a tight game or winning tight matches we would draw, if you follow me? It all points to a lack of a winning mentality. Though with the current optimism growing around our title challenge I probably wont bother now. I'm a lot happier and looking forward to Saturday lunch time.

Surely that is more Murray's fault, though Smith is not blameless with some transfer follies. -
Made me laugh, i've seen people use song lyrics to illustrate a point, but it's the first time I've seen a Beyonce song used.

Text my old flat mate (aberdeen fan) to say finally there's an Aberdeen - Rangers game deserving of the intense and ugly atmosphere they bring! Really looking forward to this one. We have to get a win up there.
-
McCoist said he wasn't picked becuase of fan pressure but because he was playing well in the reserves. You told Ally to stop being naive. Everyone has an opinion on who should play, it was just more to do with the way you phrased it.
-
I know what your saying, but I like to think in terms of weekends and this weekend we cut the gap. I.e. we both played once this weekend and we cut the gap by 3 points.
-
Yep, 3 points is a must next week and would be huge. Pittodrie is always a tough venue and with Aberdeen coming off the back of this weekend's victory and there recent good home record they will be flying confidence wise. WIn there and we might just look like a team with serious title credentials and would put Celtic under real pressure.
