Not sure Gow is in competition with McCulloch or Adam. If people want to believe conspiracy theories (as seems the way at the minute) for everything then fine. I'll put Velicka's non-inclusion down to the fact that he has not done enough (on the pitch or training) to displace the first choice players.

That game just about recouped the losses I suffered because of Chelsea. Missed it playing 6 a-side though.

My post was most in regard to Traynor trying to denigrate him in the views of the national team and it's supporters. I also think that Barry is a victim of his own success. If Hemdani had played as Fergie did at the weekend people would be raving and saying it was an 8 out of 10 performance. However because Fergie is capable of more, more is expected. So Fergie only gets a 6/7 for the same performance. I certainly think people's expectations skew there perspective of how he has performed and so currently when he is playing to a standard on par with the rest of the squad he gets greater criticism. An average game for Barry is a good game for many others. This last few months though, by his own high standards, he has been mediocre and must start doing more, immediately. Traynor can still get fucked though, trying to put the knife in. if ex-pro's rate Fergie that means more to me than Traynor's opinion and perhaps this fool should not be so arrogant as to dimiss their views in favour of his own, less creditible view.

Stopped reading it when he started saying we and the national team might be better off without him. Probably one of the numpties who reckons a Scotland mdifield of the Celtic team and Fletcher is better than one with Fergie. One need only look at the Italy game where only Fergie deserved to be on the same field as the World Champions and almsot single handedly gave us a chance of reaching the euros. Probably part of the timmy/media mafia who wants to make out Brown is the dominant midfielder in the country. Rather than those who rate Fergie, it is those who do not and write tripe liek Traynor has that have a questionable ability to read the game. Fergie may not be on top form, but he is a class above anything else in a Scotland shirt and Traynor can get fucked!!!

Walter Smith: I may not be able to stop Madjid Bougherra leaving
Super_Ally replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
It seemed obvious from his recent posting. Didn't want to make an incorrect assumption though. Just wanted to know "where he was coming from". In no way trying to discredit what he has to say, was just curious.- 30 replies

JMS are you close to Gow? No insinuations on my part, just can't remember if you have previously stated that you are, as that is the way your posts come across.- 30 replies

Tbf. if it's his last line that you are referring to (not bothered reading all this) anyone who takes his former employers to court is not going to be looked well on by potential employers.- 30 replies

Not a bad shout from Ian there, eh Pete?

Had a big rant about how it's a myth Fergie didn't cut it down south, but the site went down yesterday when I went to post. Symptomatic of many fans at the minute, making up things to have a go at the club/players is not needed as we don't have our troubles to seek.

Some common sense at last. It wasn't that Hemdani was particularly good that year (in the SPL at any rate) it was that the rest were particularly poor. And as you state, it is not the attributes he could bring that are missing from our game. All these conspiracy theories about players who aren't getting a game are ridiculous. In most cases, they don't play because they aren't good enough for the first XI.

And so it continues: Arsenal Everton Boro Liverpool Barca Chelsea £20 stake. Cost me a £70 win. And this was my banker bet to cover the rest!!!!!!!!! Lost about 3 others. £40 down. Chucked a late doubel on Pool, Barca to salvage some of my losses. Though bottled a proper bet. Raging!!

The last few years suggests not. Lets break with tradition.

It's nothing to do with stubborness. A Hemdani - Thomson middle 2 would be horrific. Playing Hemdani in Scotland is pointless, he's a big shitebag who rarely ever makes a tackle, essential in any game of football but more so in the blood and guts SPL. Walter has of course made errors. But Hemdani has done nothing to suggest he woudl be effective in the SPL and how anyone who watches him play can staunchly believe otherwise is dumfounding. Especially from guys who like to chide Ferguson for passing sideways. Hemdani is a million times more guilty of this than Barry.

Naismith for left mid? Only guy who's looked reasonable there is Novo.
-
He maybe deserved a chance ahead of JCD. But the frenchman has not featured that much and would unlikely have affected our league position much, if at all. Still don't see Velicka's non-appearance as much of a big deal.
-
Ps. Beasley has been almost uniformally terrible for us.
-
Hemdani and Thomson are so very different it's untrue. Hemdani is a decent possession player who takes up good positiosn to shield the back four and make interceptions. He cannot make a forward pass and has no contribution to going forward. Thomson is a great tackler, a ball winner. One of his main attributes is his work rate and the ground he covers, never giving the opposition a momments rest. He has hte physicality to help us win a midfield battle. He can sometimes get forward to good effect, but does this less than say Fergie or Mendes. Both are defensive mids, but their style and attributes are nothing alike. Hemdani, imo, is never a player for the SPL!

Perhaps Ferguson isn't done yet as many seem to proclaim.

Burely has already ruined this qualifying campaign imo. No win situation for Boyd. Even if he comes back I don't think he could shoot us to the finals. But then I think even Raul would struggle with the position Burely has put us in.

I don't see the mystery. Played well for Hearts, scoring some cracking goals. We needed relatively inexpensive back up for the forward roles and Smith liked what he had seen (as had many fans). However, at least in the competitive action, Velicka just has not performed. Some transfers work out, some don't. Obviously the manager carries the can for his gambles (transfers) that don't work out. Particularly at the minute where Smith does not have his troubles to seek. However the point of the thread is why is Velicka not getting a game and the reason is he is not playing well enough t odisplace the first choice players. No big mystery for me.

Rangers put £7.5million price tag on keeper McGregor
Super_Ally replied to johnnyk's topic in Rangers Chat
Last season I wouldn't have sold him for £9 million. Now I dunno. If he can't rediscover his form we would be better cashing in for £7.5 (if anyone will offer it) and give Alexander another shot.- 15 replies

A number of posters on here might wish to heed that advice then. And when will the fans realise that players don't go running out to find their nearest journalist. They will be required by the club to voice and opinion which may be regurgitated by the press, or directly contacted by a journalist for comment. WHilst some of the childish people out there might wish he had told the journo to f off, a role model, professional sports man and mature adult does not have the luxury of behaving in such a manner. In any case, was our club not supposed to be built on strong standards, not just in terms of on field contribution, but in representing Rangers FC at all times. Imo it is never acceptable to dole out personal and childish insults to a player who is giving his best on the field, regardless of whether or not is best is good enough. If you think Adam had a shite game and say so fine. Calling him a twat or an idiot or other such nonsense merely makes the accuser (sp) seem like one.

Yieldshields, why spoil your post with the childish name-calling?
