Hearts could possibly do some good business out of this. Imagine if we played the odd promisign youth. Maybe we could raise their profile and hance value and sell them on for a profit. Look at McCormack. hardly played, did get a CL goal against Porto. Did we get a fee from Motherwell? And then they sell him down to Cariff, no doubt for a reasonable sum. Expect your Loy's, Lennon's and Shinnie's to disappear without a trace of for that matter a fee.

The striking department was/is strong in numbers, but not real quality. Boyd/Miller/Novo/Velicka/Naismith/Fleck Boyd with another for first choice. Novo back up. Naismith and Fleck potential first picks but one needs to regain full fitness the other is too young to be relied on as first choice for an entire season (age will see consistency being a problem. Move on Miller and Velicka and maybe get Boyd a partner or see if Naismith can fulfill the role?

I guess all managers, players and other's employed within the game build up these sorts of contacts. WOuld be daft not too. When you're working to a budget having these kind of contact will only help with identifying potential prospects for the club.

Seems ok to me. Was pretty fair after our last game. Met him in a professional setting and seemed decent enough.

A point that's rarely made COtter. Whilst most assume Fleck could've played like that before now, that is not necessarily true. I do believe Smith was overly cautions, but we will never now, as we cannot go back i ntime and try the different permutations. Whatever anyone thinks, the maturity (mental and physical) and the conditioning of the players is hugely important and hence introducing Fleck earlier may have seen him physically or mentally unable to cope with the demands of senior football.

Initially I was worried he'd be dropped as we looked for "strength" in the midfield, but the more I here and see this week the more i'm convinced he'll play. Here's hoping Smith agrees with you and the rest of the fans. Edit: Just seen WTD's response after replying to gisa. The fans are unanimous, so hopefully the management team agree. It's not often the fans are compeltely undivided on an issue.

In addition to not being part of the midweek bounce game the official site have run this story. Only gripe I have is this quote: I thought his performance was good and did not need to quantify that with a "good for his age" kind of comment.

Good to see that perhaps the rebel influence in Scotland can be challenged. IF anything positive comes of this perhaps the republican, catholic crusaders will not be able to continue exerting their own bigoted influences unabated.
