  1. Yilmaz could be good tonight. He seems quite physical for someone so small. He's fast and can pick out a fine pass - assuming he's allowed to get up the field. Wright will be keen to impress and he's decent to drop back and help out midfield/defence. Morelos does what Morelos does. I hope he's not silly re bookings. Lundstam has a point to prove in Europe. He does not get the space as he does in the SPFL so it will be interesting to see how her does. I'm torn between excitement and dread.
  2. Something odd here. It was originally reported that Rangers were the only SPFL club not to agree the deal. Doncaster was then going to change the rules so that only 11 were needed to agree a deal and not all 12. It now transpires that neither Rangers nor Livingston are yet to agree the deal.
  3. I like your patter. Keep it up.
  4. Does this thread need to be rename? What's the best term for post window recriminations😊
  5. I haven't seen Ajax play so I don't really know what to expect from them. How much better than PSV are they? I expected PSV to be much better than they were. While I haven't seen Ajax, I've seen Liverpool and Napoli recently and I fear what they will do to us.
  6. I wonder what Gio really thinks about this transfer window. Were we thwarted from getting someone because we refused to pay the money or was he happy that the right player was not available? We'll never know as he is not one to publicly question policy. Now that the window is closed, we've no option but to go with what we have and make the best of it. There is no point dwelling on what we should have done. We have a good squad. We have players that will be developed and contribute more. We have players to come back from injury. And if that is not enough, we have the continuing Morelos/Kent contract extension saga to occupy our minds. On to the next game. As someone once said "Let's go".
  7. It is often said that referees balance out decisions within games. When they have made a mistake or been somewhat harsh, it's balanced out later in the game. This is a common view among fans but any ex referee I have ever heard denies this happens. Maybe it's not a conscious "I need to make amends later" but when an incident occurs just possibly their judgement is affected. Recent events may even suggest that it goes beyond referees correcting their own mistakes and there is a wider network correction going on. Was Sands' getting off with a red card the balance against Lundstram's (rescinded) red card? Let's hope so. Cause if Lundstram's was simply a difference in interpretation and therefore no corrective action is deemed necessary but Sands was an error, there may be some balancing out going on next weekend.
  8. Gave it to Goldson. He seemed to be enjoying his role as marauding centre back. Hope to see more of this in future.
  9. I noticed in the first half he had a couple of lobs over our defence for someone to run on to. I don't know if that's one of his signature moves but in the second half Tavernier did the same thing, (I think it was after we had scored) as if to say "Joey, watch a master"
