  6. The secret to success this year is consistency. We've seen it in the past that when Celtic were stuttering, the likes of Aberdeen failed because they were not consistent. A good start to the season - anything is possible. We've got 6 games before we meet Celtic, so by then we'll know if we are in with a shout. If we're within 3 points of top spot when we meet them, I fancy us for to be league winners. I also think we will be cup finalists.
  7. The televised matches for August are out: spfl.co.uk/premiership/fixtures/ Our first match - Motherwell away is now on Sunday 6/8 at 1.30 Also our Match at Ross County has been moved to Sunday 27/8 at 3.00.
  8. I agree that the ramifications are horrendous but that won't stop our detractors from stoking the flames. The anti-Rangers brigade will be on the march. This is going to get very messy.
  9. How much this is down to Mackay and how much to those around him. You have got to ask yourself why he was so reluctant to sign a new contract last year. I really don't think that this is all the fault of Pedro, I think that those around Mackay have convinced him that he is better than he really is and his heart is no longer at Ibrox. Time will tell if he shines in England and end up in a Premier side or he end up back in Scotland in a struggling SPFL team. Regardless, he will make more money in the short term, but at what price?
  10. I agree with RANGERSRAB that certain people have played to the stands and stoked up the hatred to us. The problem is that while the SFA say nothing will be done, how will these certain people now react? How will they save face? I can't see that they will simply say "the SFA have spoken. Our hands are tied. Let's move on". The danger is that the clamour will build and the SFA will "review" their decision. Seems like Scottish football have some "interesting times" ahead.
  11. What a difference a day makes! All positive here. PC being given a chance. New signings being allowed time to gel. Fast forward to today and PC is a dud who should go now and the players he signed are not up to it. I prefer the optimism of this thread.
  12. I think we need a bit perspective here. In the immediate aftermath of this terrible result, the knives will be out for the manager but in the cold light of day his sacking would be an overreaction. If we were to get rid of him, who would we bring in? Do you think that a new manager 4 weeks before the start of the season is a good decision? What about the players he has brought in? The manager needs to be given a chance to see what he can do in the league. A good start and this European nightmare will be dismissed as a lesson learned. The pressure is on Pedro now. It's essential that we win the opening game at Motherwell and follow it up with 2 home victories so that we can breathe again. 9 points under our belt and a team gelling will bring back our belief. A bad start and a stuttering team doesn't bear thinking about. Maybe I'm naive and/or in denial but I remain optimistic.

  14. If we are in the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa, 1st game of season will be on the Sunday 6th and should we reach the pay-off round, the Hearts game will be on Sunday 20/8 - or maybe i'm getting ahead of myself.
  15. The site is definitely "quality not quantity" and I hope it remains so. The thing I like about the site , unlike some other fans sites, is that it does not degenerate into abuse and there are not 5 separate threads dealing with the same topic. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the new season with success on the pitch and informed debate on the site.
  16. I think this is a great idea. Maybe you need to be of a certain vintage to appreciate.
  17. In the qualifying rounds and the play-off round, teams are divided into seeded and unseeded teams based on their 2017 UEFA club coefficients. Our co-efficient is 3.785. At the moment, 48 teams are known and we are placed 22nd top co-efficient. In total there will be 102 teams in first qualifying round. As the teams still to be known as lower down their leagues and cup winners, it looks like we may be in the top half of the coefficients and so I expect that we will be home in the second leg - 6/7. Bring it on. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017–18_UEFA_Europa_League
  18. To stop frivolous appeals, the SFA should automatically increase the number of matches the ban relates to in all cases where the appeal is lost.
  19. Acccording to SPFL site: The Ladbrokes Premiership post-split fixtures are scheduled to be released late tomorrow morning, Thursday April 13. Live TV selections will also be included in the announcement.
  20. If this is true, I think it's unlikely he would want to come back to us, because of the way he left. That leaves Celtic. Whether Brendan would want him, I don't know but I could imaging the Mr Lawwell would think it would be a wheeze to welcome someone who abandoned us. Whether it's worth the money just to have a laugh at us is another matter. Mind you, when Dembele goes for mutimillions, they will have money to burn:)
  21. Just call him Pedro. Everyone will know who you mean:D2 We've even got a Mexican emoji in waiting.. Can't wait for the first Mexican wave.
  22. If it's Pedro, expect a wave of Mexican hats, especially at Hampden for the semi and final (hopefully). As long as the bears next to me at Ibrox don't take to wearing one!
  23. This game will be a test for our players. There will be a huge media attention on them and all rangers fans will be looking closely on how they react. Will Morton have a go at them from the start to try to unsettle them or will they try to frustrate them? Rangers need to be prepared for both and react accordingly. The players have a chance today to show they care about the club and the fans. I hope they do and we show all those who wish us ill that we as a club will prevail. As Mr Struth said "no matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to overcome".
  24. The obvious candidate is missing from these lists. What we need is : Someone who secretly loves Rangers and all they stand for Someone who is a tactical genius Someone who has been a manager before but did not succeed only due to bad luck. Step forward ----- Chris Sutton
