Lennon was moaning the day after the game about Naismith not being sent off earlier, Brown being booked and Whittaker not being booked so as soon as they don't win another game, I'm sure the theories will be out in force again... Unfortunately, their intimidation has arguably already worked when you examine some of their games (and ours) since their outburst. Seems the SFA are incapable of punishing Celtic for it as well.

Rangers 2 - 1 Sporting Diouf Edu

Can't see him coming to us as an assistant when he's doing well as a manager in his own right.

Possibly one of the worst refs in Scotland but that's not saying much as they're all pretty poor...

Yep, that's the way I'm looking at it Craig - Brown's behaviour of last week must surely be a huge motivation for the lads to do well on Sunday. Their reaction against 'Well was very good but they'll need even more at the weekend. Bring it on - I can't wait!

I guess so but they won't have the McGeady cash every year with a bit of luck...

Absolutely but if the title was secured and we still had Celtic to play at Ibrox then if he felt he had to react to a late tackle, then so be it... Seriously, as you say, the wind-up merchants will try to draw him in in every game while he's here. So far, he's been fine but his past record doesn't stand up to great scrutiny so it will require extra effort from him to keep his eye on the ball. As always, the best way to respond to such people is by sticking the ball in the pokey!

A debt of £9million which they say will be substantially reduced because of transfer fees received? Hmmm, I don't think so. All this shows is that we MUST win the SPL again this season. If we do that (and qualify for the CL group stage) we will be back on an even playing field with them financially.

It's been a couple of weeks now since the notorious Senegal forward joined Rangers on loan from Blackburn. Amidst a career of infamy - from spitting on mischief-making fans, to allegedly mocking injured players - it was no surprise to see the Scottish media jump on this transfer with unmitigated glee. A new villain of the piece was born and the usual hypocrites lined up to vent their spleen. To be fair, it wasn't only non-Rangers fans giving the lad stick. Many bears were also worried about the transfer - not just in terms of the negativity circus the lad attracted but also football wise. In his thirties now, Diouf was surely past his best and just another expensive 'big name' has-been after the Beattie mistake of August's window? Well, three games in and a slightly different picture has been painted from the one the detractors were so eager to depict. A tough d©but against Hearts to start; an interesting main course versus Celtic to follow; finished off with a tasty Motherwell rout dessert; so far Diouf's influence has been a very positive one. In every game he's done very well; if still lacking in complete match fitness. Creative, hard-working and with a great touch, the lad is simply a first class football player. Whether it be just behind a central striker, running the wide channels or doing the dirty work in defensive midfield, so far he's shown an appetite for the game which is refreshing and well worthy of praise. Indeed, the biggest compliment I can give him at the moment is that he reminds me of Ronald de Boer in the way he finds space, dictates attacks and brings others into play. Add in a field of vision we don't often see in Scottish football, then Diouf is a fine addition to our squad. Nevertheless there has been an unsavoury aspect to his time in Scotland so far but ironically not from the man variously described as "a sewer rat", "a despicable human being" and "the most hated footballer in Britain". So far there have been a variety of outrageous tackles upon Diouf with hardly a whimper of contention from those who took umbrage at his signing. Add in the captain and manager of Celtic having their own less than dignified go at undermining Diouf's resolve; one wonders just how faulty some moral compasses are. I'm sure even a newcomer to Scottish football such as Diouf will be laughing at the double-standards of Scotland's self-righteous zealots. Of course, any praise of Diouf is somewhat premature. With four Old Firm games still to come this season, a SPL title to decide and a declining European reputation to reverse; this season is far from finished and Diouf's contribution is sure to attract more controversy at some point; his fault or not. Indeed, I don't doubt the worst is yet to come for Diouf given he's refused to buckle to the exaggerated attention placed on him so far. Let's hope he can maintain his composure ahead of even stiffer tests. If he can do the business in attack and ignore the school-yard cretins, I've also no doubt that we'll take great pleasure in continuing to call him an honourable (de) Boer in the summer!

It does appear from the outside looking in that obstacles are being removed elsewhere which could precipitate the removal of the biggest obstacle of all. As ever only time will tell.

I've not seen it myself unfortunately... Apparently I posted after it but must have missed it at the time as when on my phone, I tend to skim-read...

He has missed the last couple of games for them but played for Scotland so not sure if there is a problem after all...

Selling / Auctioning Signed And Framed Rangers Tops
Frankie replied to CumbernauldGers's topic in Rangers Chat
Sometimes people will buy such items from you at a reasonable price to auction for themselves (or their charity/RSC etc)... Either that or Ebay and publication on the various forums. The first one should realise a decent price. -
Why would he need an escape route when he's been a regular for Spurs this season?

Said person has been warned and has also apologised to the recipient of his unacceptable post. Let's move on.

New boys Healy and Bartley showed they are settling in well
Frankie replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Mate, he was solid as a rock. Made 3 or 4 huge tackles in the game - one taking out three 'Well players at once which was a bit naughty but good to see. Even Lasley was laughing in the 2nd half and staying away from him and that wee bugger likes it to get tasty. To be clear, Bartley wasn't dirty at all - just strong, enthusiastic and not afraid to get stuck in. Exactly what we need as neither Edu, Ness or Davis will do that. -
Which equals around £200million.... I think we can rule him out of buying Rangers if that figure is correct. Of course, could be likely that he settles for much less.

Absolutely. I think guys like Edu, Davis and Whittaker have been in comfort zones this season. Not now with the form of these guys. -
New boys Healy and Bartley showed they are settling in well
Frankie replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Both did very well. Bartley was a lot bigger than I expected - looked like some sort of wrestler in the middle of the park. However, he was also quick, decent on the ball and got forward when we could. Looks a real find actually. As for Healy, well I was extremely underwhelmed by his signing but on that display he could prove me completely wrong. He also looked very sharp, quick and was good on the ball. Unlucky not to score earlier than he did he finally did grab his goal with a composed finish. Very happy with both of them! -
Rangers at last provide some confidence for their supporters with superb demolition of Steelmen at Ibrox. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=368:rangers-6-0-motherwell-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :nj: Obviously others had fine games as well (not least Weiss) but the big man really brings such quality to our attack. We'll miss him on Thursday but if we can support him properly at Parkhead on Sunday, we've nothing to fear from Celtic. Bring it on! :spl:

Guys, First of all, as we periodically do, I'd like to point everyone in the direction of our House Rules again. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?8020-Forum-Rules As you can see, they are few and far between because we know we can trust our membership to post with the decorum our status as proud Rangers fans demands. Nevertheless, on occasion, I can understand that some subjects (or too many beers) can provoke emotion that can cause of a bit of tension. However, this isn't an excuse to start insulting each other, our own players and our own club. Conversely, I don't expect everyone to agree all the time and it would be a boring place without the odd fall-out, harsh words and handbag hitting that we've all been guilty of. However, as the rules say, let's conduct our debates with a bit more respect than we've been seeing of late. I'm no prude but the name-calling of existing players, former players and each other must stop. As such, consider this a polite indication that if people won't stop acting like school-children then as school-mistress I will begin our disciplinary process. Be assured it works a bit better than that of the SFA so please don't think you're Neil Lennon and above the letter of the law. That goes for everyone.
