I think :rp: is more likely to go on loan again come the end of the window... He is highly rated enough so the extra experience would do him well.

He's just as good as Boruc IMO. He was way over-rated. Speroni is an excellent short stopper which was the best part of Boruc's game. Not as good with crosses though which is good news if we sign a Jelavic or the lad from Arsenal.

Good keeper Speroni - certainly better than Zaluska.

He is supposed to be pretty good actually but more of a forward than a winger according to the Gooner I've consulted this morning. Technical player with finishing his best strength - ala Berbatov in style apparently; though not so lazy.

Interesting snippet from FF: According to the Austrian sports magzine "Sportzeitung", which can be regarded as one of the most reliable ones in our country, Nikica Jelavic's move from Rapid to Rangers is fixed and concluded. This can already be found in the title page and in a shorter as well as a longer article in the magazine, which always comes out on Tuesday. However, there is still one question, which might be the reason why the clubs have announced nothing yet: Will Jelaviv move before or after Rapid's games against Aston Villa? - "Sportzeitung" also have the UEFA rules in their main article about Jelavic which are about a player's availability for two teams in one season in European competitions. As these rules are far more complicated than it has been assumed on this messageboard so far, the clubs have been trying to figure out wheter Jelavic could play for Rangers in the CL after he had played for Rapid against Aston Villa. This is not possible, and therefore the "Sportzeitung" claims that it is far more likely that Jelavic will not play for Rapid again.

I regularly speak with Celtic fans on another forum and they rate him about as highly as we do nowadays. In the last two seasons especially he's been no more than average and while he does possess decent talent, he flatters to deceive in bigger matches. As such, if they are getting �£9.5million for him, I'm more worried about what they'll do with that as opposed to what McGeady would do this season.

It would be a pity but we can't afford to wait around given our lack of goals in pre-season. It's not rocket science to have a list of targets around the same price, moving onto the next one if unsuccessful with the first. If you go to a restaurant and they've run out of steak, do you pick something equally tasty from the same menu, or leave and go to McDonald's 3 weeks later?

We have to remember we had a bit of �£3million for Boyd in the January transfer window so strikers do cost a bit more cash than other players in the same contract situation. I think this transfer is dead, so hopefully we have other targets to move onto.

And the season kicks off next week. We're too slow and too weak in our transfer dealings. It seems almost every club and agent knows this.
