  1. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=87&Itemid=1 The Rangers Supporters' Trust has today called on the journalist Gerry McNee and the News Of The World to make a public apology to the Rangers support for the disgraceful slur which appeared on 25 February. This is not the first time Mr. McNee has made deliberately provocative statements about Rangers Football Club and the people who follow it but the next time Mr. McNee wants to view bigotry close up, he should simply look in his bathroom mirror. Mr. McNee wrote: "Perhaps they (Rangers) should be looking at another fringe activity on match days when a section of the crowd jump up and down chanting 'bouncy, bouncy, ha, ha, ha'. Is that based on sectarian gangs in Northern Ireland jumping on the heads of victims? No doubt there's another explanation for that too." Gerry McNee has now reached rock bottom in terms of standards, decency and accuracy by pretending that this is a perverse 'celebration' of the sickening sectarian murder of Robert Hamill in 1997, an accusation previously appearing only on the most extreme Republican/Celtic websites. The 'fringe activity' he talks of is widely known and accepted as a terrace song and dance known colloquially as 'The Bouncy', in evidence amongst Rangers fans as far back as 1989. Indeed in 1994, 3 years before Mr. Hamill's murder, 'The 'Bouncy' is specifically referred to in the Club's own Rangers Video Diary as Security Chief Alistair Hood is jokingly asked if seatbelts will be used to prevent fans in the East and West Enclosures doing this. In light of the evidence, the Trust calls for a full public apology to be printed in next Sunday's News of the World. Should this not be forthcoming, the Trust believes that Rangers FC will have no alternative but to remove media privileges from Mr. McNee and his newspaper, in line with the Chairman's statement to the 2006 Rangers AGM. The RST continues to campaign against REAL bigotry.
  2. Would love to have him but there is no way we can afford or attract him...
  3. PS: Remember and tick the published box next time GRibz...
  4. Yep, an interesting and informative article... More please folks - get your name in lights!

  6. Good point mate... Have changed permissions to suit.

  8. http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=204&Itemid=1 Barry Ferguson wins last 2 MoM polls. Voteb now to see if he can make it a hat-trick!

  10. How many portions did Suck have?
  11. I think we have to give Boyd a decent chance in the category A games before we compare him to players such as McCoist and Larsson who have played in more than their fair share. He does have to do more in games but in terms of goalscoring he's worth his weight in gold no matter what games he actually scores the goals in. Since he arrived, chances in the bigger games have been few and far between for him and as he gains experience at that level it won't be long before Celtic and the top Euro teams fear him like every other SPL side.
  12. Yep, at the league cup game at CP last season Rangers fans were 90% more likely to be arrested than Celtic fans. Obviously, that wasn't just down to Celtic's security officer but Strathclyde Police and probably McIntyre to an extent. Add that sad fact to the various other negative issues surrounding LM, then it's just one other area of the club where we have someone not doing their job properly and in the best interests of the support AND the club.
  13. Rangers fans behaving themselves is all well and good but to help ensure that, surely visiting fans (particularly Aberdeen and Celtic) should also be given the same treatment instead of being allowed to sing about our disasters and dead kin?
  14. yeah, Cammy makes a good point. OK, political banners may not be to everyone's tastes, but you can't have one rule for some and one rule for others. But we all know how two-faced and imcompetent Lawrence McIntyre is.
  15. All post WW2 match stats now online... Phew! http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=75&Itemid=31
  16. To be perfectly honest, the whole concept of this campaign doesn't really make me feel proud Cammy. Although what happened at Celtic was a disgrace and Jock Stein's part in the cover-up shameful, I don't think child abuse is something that should really be used as some sort of oneupmanship tool. The case was covered in the media at the time IIRC and although it's obviously swept under the carpet and largely forgotten about now, I'm not sure what value flags and banners above bridges helps Rangers.
  17. Unfortunately, I won't be there on Thursday mate...
  18. Yep, I still have the original banner and if anyone wants to take it to a game, give me a shout and I'll organise transfer.

    STV news

Yep, there are always a daft few who let the rest of our superb support down. 'Red hand' salute or not, it's far to easy to misinterpret and should be discouraged. Fortunately, this salute is disappearing and the quicker the better as far as I'm concerned.
  20. OK, already added stats from 1980 to the present day.... Should be finished by the end of the week with a bit of luck. http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=75&Itemid=31
  21. Barry Ferguson won the first poll.
  22. Utter nonsense. UEFA cannot demand Rangers do anything with their stadium. For one thing it is already a 5* stadium and for another who'd pay for the alternations and 10,000 seats - we certainly can't afford it.
  23. Did OK and caused us a few problems when he dropped deep and wide for the ball. Gow is a decent signing IMO for free and will provide the creative spark we desperately need in the final third.
  24. Aye mate... same one.
  25. Yours truly. But anyone can have a go if they want.
