  3. And, don't forget, he's a donkey!!
  4. Hardly a shocker. Think Chelski got the best of that deal!
  5. All four of those guys shjold have been paid off weeks ago, if that's what was going to happen. Could have got some replacements in>
  6. I would agree with Craig. Gallas isn't a £15 mill player!!
  7. Totally agree with that Beattie. I think Jarosik in particular will be signing of the summer.
  8. Celtic complete Gravesen capture Thomas Gravesen was in Glasgow for his medical Celtic have confirmed the signing of Denmark midfielder Thomas Gravesen from Real Madrid in a transfer deal believed to be worth about £2m. The 30-year-old has signed a three-year contract, with Celtic having the option of a further 12 months. Gravesen said: "I am delighted to have joined Celtic, one of the biggest clubs in the world. "Having spoken to the manager, the chief executive and other people at the club, I am excited about this move." Celtic had faced competition from four English Premiership outfits - Newcastle, Bolton, Middlesbrough and former club Everton - for Gravesen's signature. But he arrived in Glasgow on Monday for contract talks and a medical, only to join up with Denmark's international squad without an announcement being made. Thomas has shown great desire to play for Celtic Celtic manager Gordon Strachan Reports of problems resulting from an old knee injury circulated overnight, but the Scottish champions have now announced that Gravesen has signed a contract. "The team did brilliantly last season to win the championship and together we will be trying to retain the title and do as well as we can in the Champions League," he told Celtic's website. "I know other Danish players who have had the opportunity to play with Celtic and they have nothing but great things to say about the club. "I have also visited Celtic Park for matches, where the atmosphere is tremendous, and I am very much looking forward to playing there." The Dane left Everton for Spain in a £2.5m deal in January 2005 but made just 26 appearances for Real. His latest move was confirmed moments after the £6.5m sale of fellow midfielder Stilian Petrov to Aston Villa was officially announced. Celtic manager Gordon Strachan said: "Thomas has shown great desire to play for Celtic and it is very clear that he is looking forward to joining the club. "He is a player with great ability, experience and character - qualities which could enhance any team." And Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell added: "It is fantastic that we are able to welcome a player of Thomas's quality to Celtic Park." Gravesen will meet up with his new team-mates next week after Friday's friendly against Portugal and his country's Euro 2008 qualifier away to Iceland next Wednesday. 9. Ssamuel Eto'o = Stevie Crawford
  10. I never saw him at all for Madrid, but was always impressed when I saw him play for Everton.
  11. I hope you're right, but I don't think you will be. I think he's an excellent player, but I don't think he's a direct replacement for Pterov. And I don't think we'll be seeing much of Lennon from now onm this year.

  14. Liverpool bid for Neill rejected By Phil McNulty Chief football writer Neill has indicated he wants to leave Blackburn Liverpool's £2m bid for Blackburn defender Lucas Neill has been rejected - but they are still hopeful of signing the Australia World Cup star. The 28-year-old has turned down a fresh contract at Ewood Park - and under new Fifa rules players over 28 with only a year left can buy out their contract. Neil is in his final year, and this could yet force Blackburn boss Mark Hughes to reluctantly agree a deal. If Neill quits, Blackburn are likely to move for Manchester City's Danny Mills. Neill was sent off in Blackburn's opening day defeat at Portsmouth - and was also involved in a controversial challenge that broke Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher's leg at Ewood Park in 2003. 606 VIEW I dont know why we are buying him, we are covered at the back pretty well RT 606: Have your say The player's agent Peter Harrison said recently: "They (Blackburn) have made an offer which Lucas has declined - he is not going to be signing a new contract at Blackburn. "He has enjoyed his time there, he loves the club and the fans, he just feels it is time for a change." 15. Villa seal £6.5m deal for Petrov Petrov is O'Neill's first signing Aston Villa have completed a £6.5m deal for Celtic midfield man Stilian Petrov. The 27-year-old Bulgaria captain has signed a four-year contract and is boss Martin O'Neill's first signing since taking over at Villa Park. Petrov worked with O'Neill at Celtic and it is understood the transfer could eventually be worth about £8m. He is away on international duty, but loose ends have been tied up and Petrov is likely to make his Villa debut at West Ham on 10 September. Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp had trailed Petrov throughout the summer, but admitted defeat once O'Neill made his move. The talented Petrov joined Celtic in July 1999 from CSKA Sofia and has made more than 250 appearances for the club. Petrov was contracted to the Scottish champions until 2010 but submitted a transfer request at the end of last season. 606 VIEW Bit overpriced is my immediate reaction, but he is a good player who will do well for us TL 606: Have your say He won his first cap for his country in March 1999 against Belgium and was eventually appointed skipper of his country. Petrov was voted the Scottish Premier League's player of the year in 2001 after helping Celtic to the domestic treble. O'Neill is also believed to be interested in Barcelona striker Javier Saviola who is out of favour at the Nou Camp. The 24-year-old is out of contract next summer and Barcelona are keen to off-load the Argentinian international who impressed at the World Cup. But O'Neill faces competition from the likes of Celta Vigo, Real Zaragoza and Villarreal for Saviola.

    Dado Prso

Sorry, I meant Martin! I guess I'm in the minority of one here! It's not like I think Dado has been playing poorly, but just that I think we need 2 strikers scoring goals, and he just isn't doing it.
  17. juffery

    Dado Prso

Working hard, making chances, blah blah. He's not scoring and that's how to win games. Boyd is so you can't drop him. If Boyd wasn't scoring, he would be first choice to drop over big Dado. Burke, Sionko, Miller, will all creat chances with or without Dado. If Prso was in midfield then fine, him not scoring wouldn't be a worry but he's playing in a positio where you are judged on goals, and he ain't getting them.

    Dado Prso

So with one goal in five, you think Prso is a better bet than Sebo who hasn't been given a proper chance yet?
  19. juffery

    Dado Prso

But if he's making chances and there's no-one there to take them, what's the point of him making the chances. 3 times already we haven't been able to score more goals than the other team. The consistent striking link is Prso. We need to be scoring goals and he isn't.

    Dado Prso

Now, I don't want to belittle anything he's done for us over the past couple of seasons, he's been McLeish's best signing and a player that I've been proud to call a Ranger, but I think he should be dropped. We're five games in and have drawn three. I know the defence has looked shaky, and that's been a main reason for the dropped points but at the same time with the amount of chances we've been making, letting in a couple shouldn't be insurmountable. We've pais £1.8 for Sebo and he's not started yet. Boyd has been scoring for fun in the two games he's started and big Dado has one goal in five! Sebo has to start and I'm afraid it's the big man to make way.
  21. It was in the record this morning that is was back on.
  22. Has O'Connor been scoring for them?
  23. I was impressed with him at th World Cup.
  24. I'm getting to the stage now where I would rather have players like Russel Anderson, Andy Webster and the like coming in. At least they would know what is expected of them. We've had too many second rate foriegners coming in over the last few years. And if we let Stephen Naismith head off to England without putting in an offer I'll be very pissed off. He's proved his talent for about 18 months now and would be an excellent addition to the Rangers squad.
  25. He should be banned sine die. You could see where he was looking and it wasn't at the ball!
