  1. Left midfield left midfield left midfield!! How difficult is it to pick up a decent left midfielder!!! As for Revelierre, I have heard of him and he is more than decent. Hutton needs a decent pre-season and a chance to get his head screwed on. Ricksen is gone so we need another RB. Smith has to start as first choice LB and Murray I think is a more than able back-up - he started last season really well and I think he was unfairly dropped, but that was Big Eck for you. Adam has showed this pre-season as last that he's a very decent player and by all accounts did very well for St Mirren last year. But whether he is ready to be a starter against Celtic or in the UEFA cup, who knows.
  2. The Power of Positive Thought. The New Self-Help Guide by Stewarty Available in all good bookshops!
  3. Gotta agree with you on both points Gaz. Fingers crossed.
  4. :admin: Don't think that's really the best idea, is it?? As for Barry, I hear what you guys are saying, that the moaning etc and the way he plays makes him a captain type figure on the park, but I think taking that captain responsibility away would free up his game but it wouldn't take these aspects away from it.
  5. I don't think we'll be seeing Ricksen in a Gers jersey again. If it was a first then maybe but he's had chances ander wee Dick, McLeish and now messed up with PLG. Hope he gets his life sorted but I think a move to a smaller club would be the way to go for him.
  6. I can see it now - it's like a Chewin' the Fat sketch!
  7. Never heard of this guy. I'm really keen for us to get just one signing I've heard of this year.
  8. That game never hapened - it's a group delusion. You're all mad.
  9. Poor lad. He's come on so well over the last season, I really think this year could have been huge for him and he would have been a Scotland regular by the end of the season. Hopefully he'll be back in a few weeks as the team needs him!
  10. Hearts have kinda piloted that idea with the move to Murrayfield for their European games - they've cut prices in an attempt to get 40000 people paying a tenner rather than 20000 paying tenty quid. And it should work - if I was still living in Edinburgh I would defintely pop along at those prices.
  11. Well done to Rino - he was the one that swung my support to the Italians on Sunday. He's been outstanding throughout the tournament and getting rid of him was the biggest mistake wee Dick made at Rangers.
  12. I couldn't think of anyone coser to being a legend for the US football team. Claudio has been their captain for ages and I think is their record cap holder - if not then he's bloody close.
  13. Cannavaro, if not then Rino, then Pirlo. Italy did desreve to win the competition as they had the best players. Zidane was outstanding in one game, and won this purely as a Kodak moment before he retired and sails of into the sunset.
  14. The most over-rated player I have ever seen has to be Clarence Seedorf. Champ league winner with AC Milan, Real Madrid and Ajax. One of the most succesful European footballers of all time and every time I watch him, I think 'how the fuck has he managed it'. I can't see what he brings to teams.. As for Ballack, he may not have been fantastic this time, but in Korea/Japan, he dragged Germany to the World Cup, pretty much single handedly.
  15. I'm a bit surprised that they went for him - a club like Juve I would have thought would have gone for someone more experienced.
  16. Really surprised, he seemed to have the right attitude for management. Berti Vogts to take over??
  17. 2001/02 14 goals (Liverpool) 2002/03 9 goals(Liverpool) 2003/04 7 goals (Liverpool) 2004/05 11 goals(Birmingham) 2005/06 5 goals (Birmingham) 43 caps, 5 goals (England) Cost Liverpool £11million Cost Bimingham £6.25million Cost Wigan £5.5million Grand total 22.75million Donkey of the most expensive order.
  18. Italia 3-2 aet.
  19. So, it's nearly over, just a couple of games to go. And in my opinion, it really hasn't lived up to the hype. For every Germany v Italy there seemed to be three Switzerland v Togo games. And as for the top players in the world, not a single one of Henry, Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney or Shevchenko set the heather on fire. There have been some good preformances - Riquelme looked pretty decent at the start but in games against better quality opposition (Mexico and Germany) didn't seem able to take a game by the scruff, Zidane was absolutely immense against Brazil but that's been pretty much it from him, although I'm crossing my fingers for Sunday. Unfortunately, it seems that the whole tournament has been marred by negative tactics - Portugal, Italy, France, England and even the mighty Brazil all playing their quarter finals with a lone striker! The consistently best performances this time round have come from full/wing backs - Zambrotta, Grosso, Cole, Miguel, Sagnol. And the tournaments outstanding player has been Fabio Cannavaro, a central defender. Well, here's hoping that Sunday's game makes up for Portugals dirty tricks, Englands boring negativity, Peckerman's bizarre substitions that ruined their chances and some truly terrible refereeing decisions. Mon the Italia!!!!!!!!

    Clement

Thank God it's done at last. I just hope after all the media coverage the lad gets a chance to settle in - he is just a young guy!
  21. If and when I make it to Aberdeen it'll be my first Gers game since the match v Hibs that was wee dicks last game in charge (or McLeish's first, I can never remember)
  22. Easy come, easy go. Hope he enjoys life in France. We'll get someone better, cheaper and win the UEFA cup - that'll piss him off!!
  23. I don't think being captain is the best thing for Barry, and I don't think Barry being captain is the best thing for Rangers. I personally would like to see some of the pressure being taken off him - he's just come through a shocker of a season, let him focus on finding the form that won us a treble, and let someone else worry about the rest of the team (Prso).
  24. I don't go to see games - with the exception of the Scotland home games. I just can't afford to. I would like nothing more than to follow Rangers the length and breadth of Scotland and Europe but it's just not possible. Going to games is, I think, hugely overpriced. When we play Dunfermline at home, the entertainment on offer is poor (just an example). Why should we pay 20, 25, 30 quid to go and watch that. Tickets should be priced on the quality of the opposition - I know it's never a guarentee of an entertaining game but it would encourage higher gates against smaller teams.
  25. A fit Owen is worth the money - he'll score them a shitload of goals. As for Becks, I don't think he is the type that Newcastle need. They need to get a bit of grit in the midfield and some strength in their defence.
