Personally, I think Muscat was spoken to about his potential interest (and I'm sure a few others too) and they've denied it so it doesn't get out of control. They've given Beale a stay of execution but if(when) he slips up again, they'll have already sounded out some replacements and the process should be quicker

Unless its written into his contract that no DoF would oversee transfers etc, then unfortunately for Beale, its tough, nobody is more important, or bigger, than the club and its future. Get somebody in who specialises in recruitment and transfers and let Beale focus on his speciality, coaching

If we are to continue going down the route of inexperienced managers who have a reputation as a good coach, we definitely need a recruitment specialist DoF and we need to back that person to make the recuritment and scouting decisions.
