Match Thread [FT] Ross County 0 - 1 Rangers (Lundstram 35)

A game that will live short in the memory. Brutal to watch at times. Nine out of nine points for Beale but we can’t play like this against Celtic and expect anything from it. -

Jack or Sands for Kamara, move Lundstram further forward. Or just Lowry for Kamara. And maybe ask Tav to do something more than take free kicks, corners and throw ins. -

Not a bad selection but Lowry should have started in place of Kamara. What are the chances of McLaughlin being caught in possession with the ball at his feet? -

I think the starting changes will be Arfield, Tamundo, Lowry, Lundstram & Davies for Kamara, Jack, Sands, Sakala & Tillman -

Ross County 1 Rangers 4 FGS - Tillman -
Goldson and Kent for sheer effort and application were the heart of us last night. Tillman struggled to get into the game but again had the skill to make a difference. Divine was far more influential than against Hibs last week and had a really decent game throughout. Of course Scotty Arfield was sensational for the short period he was on the field but I can't see past the endeavour of whoever was wearing Ryan Kent's shirt. For me, whoever it was made the difference greatest overall contribution. Tav's ability to make an impression on games is fading fast. Has he run his course?

Match Thread [FT] Aberdeen 2 - 3 Rangers (Sakala 12; Arfield 90+5, 90+7)
Bill replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
James Sands is becoming associated with too many mistakes in central defence and is in danger of becoming what we see too often in football - a good player whose career suffers from being played out of position too often. I've always seen Sands as a very decent defensive midfielder who can pass and be robust when he needs to be. By rights he should by now have been taking the field in place of Davis or even Jack but there's a real danger he'll be seen as a poor centre back rather than aa good midfielder. It's a pity for him as an individual and for us as a club. If the option to sign him permanently isn't exercised, you just know he's the sort of player who will turn up on our screen playing in a top league. -

Sure, it wasn't great, in fact the second half was fairly dire. But it was an amazing feeling winning like that and there were a few good things to take from the game ..... Goldson's return, a revitalised Kent and a young fullback who can both attack and defend. Oh and Scotty Arfield too! I can't help thinking about all those who were counting down the seconds to Beale's first defeat, only to be left spewing at the comeback. -

With those yellow cards, Jack and Sands will be favourites to come off -

Generally played fairly well in the first half. I felt we were controlling the game until that Aberdeen goal. That said, Tillman and Morelos have been largely anonymous. The biggest surprise has been the return to form of Glen Kamara who fitted well in midfield with Jack. Great to have Connor Goldson back in defence. The game is very much there for the taking. -
I always thought American Football was slang for pretentious loitering without much intent 😁

So what you're saying is that in a few years the 2022 tournament, while excellent, will be remembered as having too many "weak" diddy teams and therefore not up to scratch? No, even though it was more than half a century ago, the 1970 tournament was the definitive World Cup against which all other are compared and fall short.

You're so right. That's nine-tenths of the reason why we've won so little since returning to the premier league.
