  1. There’s no way back for Barisic after this ?
  2. I thought this was "all about the fans". But clearly not the ones who have to make considerable arrangements in advance of a home game and travel further than most fans do for an away match.
  3. I see but no matter, it changes the point not at all - post #20 applies
  4. What is this madness that's descended on us these last few days. I'd be condemning such an attack if the victim was draped in Celtic scarves at the time. We need to be better than this.
  5. To reiterate ...... they weren't "his remarks". They were the remarks of the club. The club and whoever is responsible for running it on a day to day basis is responsible for the club's remarks. We're trying to shoot the wrong guy here, whatever we might think of him.
  6. I think there's a clear misunderstanding about PR services in general and at Rangers in particular. Sure, there are good PR people and poor PR people but that's hardly the issue. It's important to understand that no PR company or internal PR department is responsible for what enters the public domain. That's no their role. The responsibility of the PR function is to place the views and decisions of the owner/executive/board in the public domain and to do so effectively, ensuring news releases are well-targeted and properly defined. It is the role of the executive, in Rangers case this is the board of directors acting through the managing director, to decide what the PR department will seek to communicate and it is the responsibility of the executive to approve everything of importance that is released to the public. Going around blaming James Traynor as if he somehow decided and approved the club's communications shows a profound ignorance of reality. If Traynor is ineffective at turning the board's intentions into well-crafted and well-directed statements then the managing director should either replace him or accept full responsibility for his failings. Similarly, if the managing director isn't checking and approving sensitive releases then he's the one who is negligent. Going around criticising Traynor is the best way of excusing and inept board of directors and an especially incompetent MD.
  7. Why not? This is certainly the week for it.
  8. I don’t believe any genuine supporters want Gerrard sacked.
  9. Those are amazing numbers. They tell me we're severely restricted to only one way of playing and we're lost when a single piece of the jigsaw is missing. Surely a team like Rangers that aspires to win titles should be able to compensate better than that. There has to be more tactical flexibility to accommodate different players with different attributes.
  10. You know what they say, every disaster is an opportunity in waiting. Much now depends on Gerrard showing the mentality that appears to be so lacking in some of the players. If you're going to be the leader then you need to bloody well lead.
  11. I've been disappointed we haven't seen more of players like Stewart, Polster, Edmundson, Docherty ...... while incessantly giving a shirt to Ojo, Aribo, Kamara, etc. By all means stick with players when we're winning well every week but yesterday was the culmination of a streak of obstinacy that's hard to understand.
  12. The latest debacle can be spun any way we choose but the bottom line is we're still some way from being the team and the club we need to be. The league flag is a pipe dream unless we can fix the fragility that has dogged us ever since we returned to the PL. Whether individual elements such as the manager or captain or chairman or whatever are good enough is probably academic when it's clear to me we are simply unable to make the best of what we do have. I don't know why that is but we've become underachievers when our financial status requires us to be the polar opposite. We have half the team running around like headless chickens yesterday - Kent, Hagi, Morelos, Aribo, Halliday, Tavernier - none of whom showed the slightest self-belief or an idea what they were trying to do. It's profoundly dispiriting to see such a mess and yet see no obvious reason for it. You could be forgiven for thinking the show is coming apart at the seams - the manager has clearly lost faith in the players and the players have lost faith in themselves. When will this end?
  13. This is perhaps the only post that was needed in response to the spineless OP.
  14. I think you're spot on there and to be honest I couldn't see any justification in dropping Edmundson either.
  15. I think that's been clear for a while now. It happens.
  16. Away and give comfort to some of your nationalist pals. You've clearly no idea about the task we're engaged in at Rangers.
  17. Nothing?
  18. How you wish we had the ability to put a decent cross into the box.
  19. I'm afraid I've no idea what your point is.
  20. I'm struggling to understand what the plan is for Morelos and Kent because neither of them has made any contribution so far. But that's about the only negative in a pretty decent first half.
  21. Director of Communications? "Right Spiers, step into my office and close the door"
  22. That’s been my take on it for a long time now.
