  1. Whether you agree or disagree, the calls for Gerrard's head will certainly gather momentum after that. I've watched Rangers for long enough to know that patience is a commodity in short supply at Ibrox.
  2. Indeed ... and there were many others who filled the role with distinction. And some who didn't
  3. Just then I thought I heard the sound of walls coming crashing down. This is devastating.
  4. Correct. Much as I like him as a keeper, the idea of him being captain is ridiculous. Bombscare territory. I think the correct choice of captain is important and from the start Tavernier has never looked like someone who actually believes he deserves the role.
  5. Steven Davis rightly looks very uncomfortable - like he'd rather be anywhere other than in front of a camera.
  6. I'd like to see it but I'll be surprised if there are any significant changes for this match.
  7. The SNP's complicity couldn't be clearer but all the same it's interesting to have it laid bare by their mickey mouse newspaper.
  8. I've been hoping Polster would be given a chance to replace Tav for months and it's got nothing to do with Tav needing a rest. Polster wasn't always injured but we still persevered with a player who has never come close to reproducing last season's form, will no longer take a penalty and now seems physically incapable of crossing a ball.
  9. Indeed. In the absence of any coherent explanation for the current loss of form across the squad, I think some things have clarified as root causes of our stalled and increasingly limp title challenge. One of these is clearly Tavernier, who is not only a consistently underperforming player but is also the club captain and appears to offer little that I'd expect from a Rangers captain.
  10. Given where we're at in this title challenge, I'd love to see some other players given a chance. However, I'd prefer it didn't have to be at the expense of people like Jack or Arfield who, along with McGregor, Goldson and (so far) Hagi, are among the few in the current squad who look like they have the guts to be the core of next season's team. It's a great pity Polster is also injured because we badly need to refresh our right back position.

    Wingers

Tommy McLean was the best crosser of a ball I ever saw. He was also BY FAR the most consistent winger. A wonderful player.
  12. Correct. Every opinion given is worthless in the absence of information. Clearly, something is rotten in that dressing room but so far very little seems to be understood about it.
  13. The question posed represents at best only part of the picture. This situation isn't only about Morelos and the reasons why he was apparently disciplined. It's also about the effect of whatever we do now on the rest of the squad.
  14. Dear God, are we really so stupid and desperate that we'd even consider someone like Sturridge?
  15. The more I think about the current crisis, the more I'm drawn to conclude the dressing room, or at least elements of it, is out of control and causing major rifts among the squad. Every time I've seen something like this in the past it's been down to individual troublemakers.
  16. I think that particular ball is in the team's court now.
  17. I suspect we're preparing very well, thoroughly professional in all aspects. That shows up clearly in European games. The problem is we're not preparing for the right thing domestically.
  18. Steven Gerrard now has a major opportunity to make radical changes that wouldn't have been possible had we still been in the title race. He needs to arrive for training on Monday like a fucking lion breathing fire and farting brimstone.
  19. That 2010-2011 team is no better that the one we have. The difference is that Walter absolutely knew what was required to win in Scotland. With one exceptional season aside, he had a habit of being found out in Europe but in the domestic game he pretty much had all the keys to all the doors.
  20. Looking at the refereeing performance in Braga last week it was entirely obvious by comparison how poor refs are in Scotland - and transparent that neither VAR nor any amount of training can solve our problems. Every club in Scotland bar one suffers weekly from incompetent referees but we suffer from something far worse.
