  1. Even you might have figured out that's why I asked the question ?
  2. We don't need a tactical genius as our manager, we need a really hard bastard in the mould of Jock Wallace. Very few of our current players would survive but the club might.
  3. I hope Morelos isn't badly hurt but he's in desperate need of 3 or 4 weeks rest.
  4. You meant the clear-as-mud bits that said "it is likely that" or "expects to be able". Which is why I asked the question - to find out if there was any substance to these claims. I take it you don't know then?
  5. Bolshevik meant majority but then again pravda meant truth.
  6. So is Club1872 being given preferential access a new share issue along with those who have provided soft loans?
  7. Isn't that exactly what is set out in your own post #1 of this thread?
  8. To make a political point you're deliberately conflating a legal right to vote, in accordance with the laws of this country, with an inferred denial of those voting rights for nefarious reasons. The simple fact is that there are people who are allowed to live in this country but do not legally qualify for voting rights, which is also the case in every other country. But I'll say it again, none of the people you originally mentioned have been denied the right to vote. It would actually be a denial of democracy if people with no legal right to vote were then allowed to vote and influence the governance of the UK, possibly at odds with the broad wishes of its citizens. How about 12 year olds, are they being denied the right to vote? Or members of the police or military, should they be allowed to vote? Or illegal immigrants, or convicted terrorists, or the certified insane?
  9. Surely Club1872 can only buy share that are made available to it. I understood the proposal was to offer any share issue to creditor shareholders as return on their loans. Since this doesn't include Club1872, I can't see how it can prevent dilution of its shareholding. Or am I wrong?
  10. OK, allow me to change my statement to ... socialism is very totalitarian ... if that helps avoid any inconvenient pedantry. Anyway, all political systems are more or less totalitarian when the state assumes decision making for the individual. How does it go again ... government of the people, for the people, by those who accrue power to themselves while hypocritically professing to derive that power from the people. Dictators simply do it without remorse or pretence, socialists do it as a fundamental dishonesty. Y'know, "we know what's good for you". Personally, I detest them all but one thing is for sure, we're on a one-way journey to ever-diminishing personal freedom and the collective submission of the hive. I pity my grandchildren for the world they will have to survive in.
  11. Communism is very totalitarian. Anyway, censorship is a silly idea, however tempting it might seem in this age of hand-holding and spoon-feeding.
  12. Or Club1872? I imagine the value of its shareholding will be considerably reduced.

    Stairway

As the song goes ... thanks for the memories. You forget the sheer scale of those embankments and stairways.
  14. Out of interest, if the board gets its way, does anyone know what the new share distribution will be and who will suffer most from dilution?
  15. There is no such things as an EU national. There are only citizens of other countries - France, Germany, Italy, etc - who already have the right to vote in their own countries for their own political options. Why would they have a right to vote in a UK election? If they pay taxes here it's because they use the services those taxes pay for, it's not to buy voting rights. I wouldn't expect to vote in a Malaysian election just because I'd made a decision to live and work there.
  16. But he's right, none of the people mentioned have been denied the right to vote. Are you saying the English language is open to any interpretation, even one at odds with the words used?
  17. I'm beginning to think there are no rabbits in the hat and Murty is more and more likely to be our manager until the end of the season. Another season wasted. How many more?
  18. Majesty? Is this the Scottish Cup we’re talking about? ???
  19. Yes I can just see Gio swapping CL for the arse end of Scottish football
  20. Keith tried that but the SFA wouldn't let them. They did however allow the game to be moved to Pittodrie so the precedent is there for Fraserburgh. Edit - Btw I'll never forget Laudrup being subbed and the entire Keith support rising to their feet to applaud him off the park at Pittodrie.
  21. God knows I wish it wasn't like this and maybe one day we'll be able to look for better things. But right now the truth is we've barely picked ourselves up off the floor.
  22. I think Fraserburgh and their bank manager would prefer Pittodrie.
  23. The evidence in front of your eyes every week clearly tells you it is too much to hope for at this time. Perhaps at some point in the future it will be different but a team that just got humiliated AGAIN is unlikely to fulfil your ambitions for silky football. Perhaps we should be realistic and take one aspiration at a time.
