Just as well that no one actually did that then. But hey ho, let's make up some shit for effect.

Amen to that. It's the manager's job to drop individual players if he thinks they're not doing what he requires. It's the fans' job to back the team - if they're not happy with performances on the park they need to question the manager's performance. Or doesn't that work for the millennial generation?

I don't know where the notion of bullying comes from but, otherwise, what you say could equally have been applied to Davie Cooper in countless games. Windass may never be another Cooper but people need to calm down and stop creating a scapegoat.
  4. They did but it's not BT's role to mitigate poor refereeing. Nor should we feel less aggrieved when something as glaringly incompetent as this affects our team, just because someone else sees it too. I thought I saw some truly awful referees when we were in the lower leagues but what we've seen so far this season wouldn't be out of place on comic relief.
  5. Shows how much I know. I was actually pleased with Pena's performance last night. Apart from the obvious contribution of his goals, his ability to find space in a crowded midfield is very impressive. His aerial ability is excellent and his general work rate was much improved. I'm beginning to think we might have found a diamond.
  6. Everything you say is true but perhaps it's worth reflecting that if we were all neutrals, we'd all watch very little football. Football is essentially a tribal experience, without that much of it would be fairly tedious
  7. Despite the struggle at times tonight, there’s something very satisfying about this victory. Slowly, it’s coming
  8. Windass booking proves either the idiocy or bias of Scottish referees
  9. The same happened to Rangers a few years ago so don't hold your breath expecting anyone to be found responsible.
  10. I've sat and watched the ball disappear at the far side of that camber on many a match day and I'd be surprised if it was as much as 3 feet ... but these things have a habit of being deceptive. I only know I was relieved when I finally changed my seat and could see an entire game where players didn't appear to run around on their knees.
  11. Whatever else Dave King is, I don't think he's a Craig Whyte. However, while things have obviously stabilised under his tenure, I doubt if King has the nouse to take us where we'd all like to be. By far the biggest concern to me is the continued fragmentation of the clubs share ownership and the difficulty this poses to any meaningful future share issue. It's one thing getting rid of the Greens, Ashleys, etc (and that was much needed) but it's another thing taking the club on to a genuinely secure financial footing.
  12. We wasted an opportunity to change our mentality under Paul Le Guen. We wasted another opportunity to rebuild our football ethos under McCoist. The former because the fans and players couldn't cope with the process of change, the latter because ... well because that particular manager was an idiot who didn't know what 'plan' meant. If we also reject this chance, it might be a very long time before we get another.
  13. I'd be willing to feel hopeful if only the choice of head coach was to be made by someone other than the fucking SFA.
  14. Pedro is spot on about the dire state of football in Scotland, where hammer throwing is valued more than being able to pass the ball. Meanwhile we have the Scotland manager wittering on about how we're not big enough and how we're physically disadvantaged.
  15. I can think of no one better for Scotland right now than Sam Allardyce. It might even curb some of the bigotry from the so-called tartan army. It would be an honour to have him in charge.
  16. I think Lee Wallace is going to have to be very patient if he wants his place back, which rather suggests to me his role as captain should at least be reconsidered. The days when he was an automatic first choice against lower league teams have gone.
  17. Good to see something positive in the press from an ex-player but it's no more than I'd expect from a truly genuine guy like Colin Stein. I wish we had more like him in the dressing room today.
  18. I'm not a member of Club1872 but I can't help wondering why a 10% shareholder is asking for a seat on the board, instead of demanding it and instigating a vigorous publicity campaign to ensure it gets that seat. However, if you place more value on maintaining a cosy relationship ....
  19. Looks like another contrived and pointless DR article. Not worth a second thought.
