  1. Wtf .... "outstanding job" in Europe last year. Really
  2. Tut tut ".... has gone into liquidation" Damned weegie speak.
  3. I agree with you, he did have limited ability and his particular limit was definitely a bit short of what we need. Personally I think it was the right decision to trim the squad and let him go. Hopefully, others will follow. That said, he did have in abundance some other qualities that supporters crave from their team. Whatever else he lacked, he did have endless enthusiasm and he had genuine endeavour. He had real character and once in a while he would do something beautiful.
  4. I hate it. There are some I wish had stayed but once they're gone, they're long gone. Some not far enough.
  5. Credit where it's due ..... McInnes played us like a fiddle on Sunday.
  6. Opinion of players often ebbs and flows as the games go by. Sometimes it's only when they leave that you realise what you thought of them overall. I think memories will be kind to Fashion Sakala Junior.
  7. Tillman has gone, get over it. He was good in a poor team when he could be interested. He was brutally anonymous when he couldn't be bothered, which was too often. If he does return to Ibrox with PSV I hope we kick lumps off him.
  8. With the uninspiring start we've had, I can see the crowd being fairly subdued tomorrow evening and if the team doesn't give them something to believe in early on it could be just a tetchy Ibrox and just what Servette need. A repeat of what was served up against Kilmarnock and there will be some very unhappy bears.
  9. I just think Dessers clearly isn't fit yet and Jack has to be a more flexible midfield option than Lammers. I could even see three at the back, with Yilmaz moved into a midfield five with Jack sitting deeper. As you say, anything but the current situation.
  10. Maybe you're right. Could you forgive a couple of changes Butland Sterling Souttar Balogun Ridvan Hagi Raskin Cifu Jack Lammers Danilo
  11. Better give Borna the day off then.
  12. I can't see Tav being dropped either but I'm convinced he should be. Perhaps someone else in that team can be coached to take throw ins? Or even (whisper it) penalties.
  13. Team for home tie against Servette? It was clear from the outset that Beale had called it wrong against Kilmarnock, so how would you change it against Servette? Butland Sterling Goldson Souttar Yilmaz Cifuentes Raskin Cantwell Lammers Danilo Dessers It's a bold move to drop Tavernier but, frankly, he's anchoring us to too many old behaviours and needs to take a back seat. I also wonder about the sense in playing Souttar at left centre back when he's actually better that Goldson when played on the right but beggar can't be choosers.
  14. Rangers 4 Servette 1 FGS Danilo
  15. You've had one game, that's all. You can't call for wholesale changes to the squad and then, when you get them, pretend nothing has changed for 9 months. That was then, this is now and the future may be an entirely different place. Equilibrium is what we need right now, not crazy reactions. That's me airing an opinion btw.
  16. You do have a tendency to run amok with a complete over-simplification of the situation and seem determined to twist the comments of others until it becomes about you being denied the right to express a negative opinion about Beale ... when no one has said any such thing. The point that's actually being made is about the intemperate way you and some others have been going about it, which comes across as a wild and adolescent knee jerk reaction. I've seen too many seasons when we started badly to believe the rest of the season hangs on one bad performance. Not one word of your rants will make a difference to what happens next. Try calming down a little because you already must know that Beale will be going nowhere.
  17. Maybe it's a psychosis brought on by what we've been through in the last 12 years but there's something deeply insecure about wanting to sack our manager in August.
  18. I don't think there can be many who looked at that team selection today and their heart didn't sink a little. The last time I felt like that was the League Cup final. But it is what it is and any thought of changing the manager is pie in the sky.
  19. It's very unusual, verging on unlikely, that a Rangers team gets beaten when playing well. So the fact we lost today tell you everything you need to know about our performance. The weeping and chest-beating on this forum since the final whistle is a bit embarrassing and amounts to little more than the undignified indulgence of folks who don't know how to lose. That's not to say we should ever welcome a defeat but when it happens, as it will from time to time, the way to deal with it isn't to lose composure and call for heads to roll, certainly not after the first game of the season. Are there really people here who genuinely thought you could load so many new players into our 1st team squad and immediately produce a team that gels on the park. I'm sure that's what we all wanted but, seriously, it was always unlikely. We're all gutted after today, let's see where we are after a month or so. A little calm equilibrium will achieve a lot more right now than unseemly alarm.
  20. Here’s an idea …. revert to the team that should have started.
  21. It's a team picked for a plastic pitch. That's the only reason I can see for Barisic and Lundstram starting and no cover on the bench for our much-criticised fullbacks.
