  1. If it's any consolation, what's posted on a football forum has absolutely no bearing on what happens out there in the real world.
  2. It's a disaster for Scottish football but makes diddly financial difference to Rangers
  3. I could sort of understand Hearts or Hibs doing this but Aberdeen has such a shit home support. They will reduce the away support seats while still failing to come close to selling out the home sections. God I despise that pig pen of a club.
  4. Has there been any indication how sales to date for the three shirts has compared with previous years?
  5. Yup, two more friendlies to get things ready .... one to shape up, one to polish.
  6. Before anyone gets carried away, it's worth considering we have two weeks to get from what we've seen so far from an experimental team of newbies that hasn't won a single competitive game, to a team capable of beating the teams that finished second in the Belgian league and second in the Swiss league. We should be able to go through, it's whether (as always) the challenge comes too soon for a rebuilt squad with no experience playing together. On Wednesday against Olympiacos, we need to start fielding something like our presumed best team and kick into touch the "minutes for everyone" approach.
  7. It looks like a difficult draw to me, especially with the second leg away from home.
  8. I thought he was completely out of his depth. Maybe if was a lack of clear instruction but he looked disoriented and when someone is competing with Matondo for Flop Of The Match you know something is amiss. Like many before him, he looked like the shirt was a tad heavy for him. I look forward to seeing him deliver a vast improvement on Wednesday. I'll be the first to praise him if he does.
  9. I also seem to remember we won precious little while we were waiting for McCoist to come good. Do we really want to repeat that?
  10. It worth reminding ourselves the calibre of player we had when we first returned to the premier league. We'd be horrified to see most of them in the current squad and in due course I hope we'll look back on last season's squad and think the same thing. This long road to full recovery inevitably means progressing from what used to be acceptable to the higher quality that's needed for the next step.
  11. McCoist always knew a good soundbite when he heard one but that doesn't mean it's some sort of profound truth. I'd also gently point out that every player who ever missed a scrabble chance was there to miss them - it's not an alternative virtue, it's a failure. If all you're going to do is miss an opportunity to score, you'd be as well doing it from a seat in the stands. We can't win games or titles by being "there to miss them". What we need are strikers who are "there to score them". I was disappointed when McCoist didn't score. I'm enthused when Sakala does score.
  12. Sakala isn’t in the same league as McCoist. Maybe one day but I very much doubt it.
  13. Design, manufacture and distribution will consume the lion’s share but £7 seems a bit low to me - although I suppose it’s possible we separately receive one-off bonus payments for meeting agreed sales targets???
  14. I guess this has been covered before but can anyone tell me ...... if we sell a replica shirt for £115, how much of that comes to Rangers?
  15. Sima may end up being POTY but today he was woeful.
  16. That’s the problem I’m referring to
  17. I wish we could lose this habit of conceding goals at the end of games.
  18. It’s going to be a long season. They’ll all be needed. The only protected position right now seems to be right fullback - I’d like to have seen some else give time there today.
  19. Albeit this is a pre-season loosener, it's been fairly disjointed but I think there have been some glimmers of positivity. Dowell, Hagi, Raskin, Yilmaz, Davies, Balogun and Butland all look comfortable and keen. And of course Fashion Jr is ..... well, Fashion Jr. Sima looks like a man lost overboard, trying to remember whether or not he can swim. And the question keeps coming up - are we wasting our time with Matondo? If I were Beale I'd be particularly happy with the commitment of Hagi, Yilmaz, Raskin and Dowell. New team for the second half.
  20. Jack not in the squad - injured again?
  21. Back in the 1980s I lived in Egypt for a couple of years. Our favourite escape from Cairo was a Club Med resort on the Red Sea, where Saudis in overcoats used to sit in rows of deck chairs to oggle at topless white women. The Egyptians despised the Saudis as garbage with money.
  22. I've been to Saudi Arabia. Granted it wasn't to any fancy tourist spots but I thought it was generally a dirty and quite oppressive place. There are many places I might be happy to live and work but Saudi Arabia certainly wouldn't be one of them.
  23. If they play in their bare arses there's every possibility of bollocks being on display.
  24. My favourite Rangers strip is the one the team is wearing when they walk off the park having won another three points. What it looks like is irrelevant to me.
  25. Absurd leniency
