  1. One pre-season game against meaningful opposition, no basis for sweeping praise or condemnation. The European qualifiers will tell us something. Christmas will tell us everything.
  2. I can’t say I’ll miss them. Whoever they are.
  3. I don't think we've come close to seeing the best of Ridvan Yilmaz but it's already clear he has far more mobility than Barisic. Considering how few crosses ever lead to goals, there's far too much made of crossing abilities.
  4. I thought they did OK in a difficult situation where our organisation left both of them chasing shadows for long periods in the first half.
  5. If Matondo, Sakala and Barisic don't show more against Hamburg I think they're going to spend a lot of time on the bench this season if they don't leave.
  6. I thought Wright did OK and much better than some
  7. Agreed. Raskin looked like an absolute boss and I was hugely impressed with Hagi, who I worried might be lost to us but seems to have put his injuries behind him. I also wondered about Wright and assumed his Turkish trip was off. Tamundo seems to have no progress.
  8. That’s what will drive the changes right enough
  9. Here's hoping. There's a sense of relief that we've finally dismantled Gerrard's fairly worn out squad. I think we can start moving forwards again now.
  10. Likewise BSRT but with some caution that a squad of new players doesn't automatically turn into an effective team overnight. We may need to show some patience for a few weeks.
  11. The current football elite is reaching their limits of growth and is unsustainable without massive injections of new money. For that reason and no other, the current product/market interface will have to change dramatically. When it does they would be as well calling it a different sport, for all the connection it will have with the game played at Ibrox.
  12. I'd keep that covered up if I were you
  13. He'll be as welcome as rotting fish but I expect he'll be a bigger thorn in their side that his predecessor.
  14. It's hard to believe this but who knows? Unless the only impediment to the original deal was the player himself refusing to sign for Rangers and play in Scotland?
  15. Makes you wonder if £500,000 is entirely appropriate.
  16. As with all others who move on, our thanks for all he did while he was at Rangers and our best wishes for his future. He will carry the memory of that Scottish Cup final goal for the rest of his life. Very few can do that.
  17. I think Michael Stewart should henceforth be known as the Bonus Hole.
  18. They haven't asked me. Perhaps they know my answer in advance.
  19. How does THAT get to be Compliance Officer? What skills and experience does that adolescent dweeb bring to the table?
  20. Time is a-passin. Make a time-limited offer. If it isn't accepted by the deadline, turn your back and go to the next striker on the list. We can't afford to be played like a fiddle by Feyenoord.
  21. I think we need to be careful not to think we can or must solve all our problems in one transfer window. While it was absolutely necessary to make a large number of signings this summer, there may even be some advantages in spreading any further signings.
  22. There's no mix up at all. If should is different from actual then that alone tells you it isn't working.
