The Summer 2023 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
Bill replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I think you might well be right. In any case, I'm not sure our defensive frailties haven't been as much to do with our fullbacks and a malfunctioning midfield. -
How about leaving it as it is. It works well, with a range of opportunities to score points. The only problem with it is my inability to get anything right.

Everyone is grateful for a fullback scoring so many goals when the rest of the team is scoring too few. However, it's perverse to go out and recruit strikers and still persevere with a defender who is so clearly poor at defending. If anything, Tav has covered up a glaring inadequacy that should have been addressed long ago - now it has and it's time to stop compromising our defensive standards. I dare say we can find another penalty taker. Maybe even someone to take throw-ins! This has nothing to do with loyalty to a player and everything to do with the good of the team as a whole. -

You sign forwards who can score those goals. -

I have a growing suspicion that Tav has become a luxury we can no longer afford ... but I think we're probably stuck with him for another season. -
IF we address the horrendous hole in our defence ..... I think we'll start slowly and then things will go well. I expect us to come from behind to win number 56 this season. Otherwise I think it will be another season dropping needless points and the runner up spot.

Is there a bionic store where we can get whatever spare parts are required to keep Ryan Jack fit and available. Because we're twice the team when he plays. -

I admit my heart sank a little when I heard some of the more idiotic stuff. What is wrong with these people? They behave like this is their first time out of the scheme. -

We haven't kicked a ball in anger yet and it might well take a few weeks to get this new squad playing sweetly but, whatever happens, I think we should show our appreciation to John Bennett and the board for their commitment to the club and the support this summer. Having had such a protracted and often disappointing journey, it feels at last we may be approaching the end of this long recovery. I'm hoping so anyway. -

Has Beale said why Ryan Jack wasn't in the squad for the last two games? -
It must be almost impossible to fathom a meaningful value of a football club.

I'm disgusted by talk of a new manager. Yes, we face challenges but to suggest crap like this before a competitive ball is kicked is deranged. By all means criticise what we saw last night but show some composure ffs.

I left Ibrox last night feeling the same deflation. I think it was the excitement of perceived progress at last that came from recent recruitment, followed by the stark realisation that I had just watched all the same old flaws all over the park. I don't know why but it was true. -

If that's true, why have we brought in news players if all we needed was better shape, formation, organisation, etc? -

It’s not the result or the performance of individual players but the absence of any discernible organisation or style of play that is of most concern. It’s one thing to perform poorly, it’s another thing altogether when it’s apparent they didn’t seem to understand what was required of them. If the manager has been clear with them, there’s been ample time for professional players to absorb what’s expected. We seem to be in the same place as last season but with different faces. -

I drove 5 hours to watch that absolute shambles tonight. I couldn't believe what I was watching, woeful doesn't begin to describe it. It was utterly disjointed, embarrassing. We were given a football lesson by Olympiacos and if we play like that in a couple of weeks we'll get another one. We should be past the stage of giving everyone a run out. We need to be playing our primary choices and assessing any changes needed. Someone please introduce Dessers to the ball because I don't think they've met yet. -

In 6 months we've added, Raskin, Cantwell, Butland, Sterling, Lammers, Sima, Dessers, Butland, Dowell and Balogun - Cifuentes and Danilo to come. Add to that the return of Hagi and Lawrence and we approach the new season with no fewer than 14 new players. It's bold work by Beale and the Board and it's long overdue. For good or ill I think we can finally say we've moved on. -

Slightly surprised at the five years but probably necessary to get his signature. Unleash the samba drums -

If you fail to earn a bonus, are you effectively in a bonus hole?
