  1. Elfideldo Has Aird been showing good form in the reserves/youths? Ally said this in the Press Conference...... ''We watched the reserves against East Fife & thought Fraser Aird was outstanding. He earned a place.'' Surely he gets reports after every game.
  2. Good point on the one to one with Ally. Only, who does the editing?
  3. I could see the point of the opening sequence if it was a Documentary or Investigative programme. But for a Football Match at 7pm, with families and kids watching, it was just crass.
  4. Defender who was not sold on Rangers has bought into move Martin McMillan The defender's imperfect command of English compels him to digest the question fully before offering a response. The same reaction was evident when Rangers pushed a contract under his nose and asked him to sign. A move to British football appealed to the Lyon defender, just not one like that. Not at first, anyway. The Frenchman was not entirely at ease with the change of scenery; a trial at the club forced into the Scottish third division following another at Leeds United after his time at Lyon was brought to an end. A former France youth internationalist, a few seasons traipsing around the lower leagues would take Faure a little too far from home comforts. Merci, mais non merci. What changed his mind was stepping foot in Ibrox. The idea of playing front of a packed house appealed to the ambitious footballer in Faure, regardless of who he would be sharing the pitch with. Once that appetite was sated the defender developed a hunger for helping Rangers back into the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. "When my agent told me Rangers were interested, I wasn't that keen, especially with the club being in that position," says the former Lyon defender. "I went over and trained with Rangers, then watched them play a game with over 30,000 fans at the stadium. Ally McCoist told me they liked me and negotiations were easy. I signed for three years. "I was getting bored of football in France and I wanted to move to the UK. I had a trial with Leeds United. It's a great opportunity for me and I get to learn the language too. "The plan is to move up rung by rung until we get to the Scottish Premier League. That is something that really interests me. I'm at a big club and I have the opportunity to build a great adventure. "The lure of playing for Rangers is stronger than anything. You must understand, Rangers are a religion. It took me a month to discover that, but it's amazing." As his appreciation for the club grows so will his understanding of the demands he is playing under. A win over Premier League leaders Motherwell in the Scottish Communities League Cup on Wednesday night felt defiant to those in the stands, while it offered the players a respite from the reality of where they are. They will be offered the chance to prove themselves against another top-flight team in the next round and perhaps even Celtic – "Everyone at the club expects this is what will happen. We would still have to win, even against Celtic. It's in the DNA of the club," says Faure – and the fervent atmosphere that would bring would serve to vindicate Faure's decision to move to Scotland in the summer. He left behind the comfort of training with Lyon but has since discovered some perks of being at Rangers do not translate so well into French football. "The crowds here are what convinced me to sign. Our first league game, there was 49,000 people. The second had 46,000 and the third 45,000," says the 21-year-old. "Somehow, I don't think Lyon would get that amount of fans if they were in the French Fourth Division. This is another world from Lyon. "My parents were at a match and what surprised them was that 20 minutes before kick off the ground is empty. Then just before the game starts, the crowds appear in the stands. It seems to me there is this massive blue tide that suddenly appears. "I love this environment and we take thousands of fans away as well. The country lives for football, everyone is interested. Of course, this creates enormous pressure for us – we aren't allowed to lose. In fact, even if we draw, it's a disaster." The contentment he felt on Wednesday will have been foreign to him whenever Rangers went on the road, then; his side seemingly unable to rouse themselves when trotting out into more modest arenas. Rangers will face Forres Mechanics in the second round of the Scottish Cup tomorrow. Yet Faure preferred to praise the standard of sides he has been faced with. "I played in the lower leagues in France and it's high balls all game. Here the defenders build from the back," he says. "It's their intensity that is huge. For them, it's a game of their lives to play Rangers. This current difficulty in the league makes the story even more beautiful."
  5. Editing a press conference to make a Manager look like he is laughing and smirking at questions of security, might not appeal to everyone. Headlining a programme by calling a Manager 'Fat Sally', might not appeal to everyone. Showing a Manager falling from a window, might not appeal to everyone. When it is always the Manager, and it is always the same people who are not happy, then there is clearly something wrong. Though it is the BBC, who are right even when they are wrong.
  6. Don't forget the editing of Allys Press Conference. There is definitely an agenda, and should be brought to their attention.
  7. I think we should realise there is a difference between BBC Scotland and the rest of the BBC. This is just a snippet, taken from FF this morning. ''Wow what a contrast I heard this morning on my daily commute to work. Top billing in the sports section on Radio Five Live given to Liverpool and Rangers jointly with the bulletins switching between mentioning each first but both really as lead story. Menwhile over on BBC Radio Scotland our score doesn't even make numerous news bulletins and when they finally do have a sports update we are second story behind Aberdeens last minute winner''
  8. You have to ask yourself, would they do the same to any other Manager? Both Saturdays Show and last nights montage, the answer of course is, NEVER. So Rangers are entitled to ask the question, why?
  9. Do you think celtc might be behind it then?
  10. Nothing would surprise me.
  11. Statement from Clyde FC confirming they voted for Rangers to be admitted to the SFL. Despite the Record claiming otherwise. The Daily Record has today (24th)published an apology to the club, following an inaccurate article that appeared in the edition of Saturday 14th July. It reads as follows:- "Clyde Football Club have asked us to correct an error in an article on July 14. They say they did not ask Rangers to be excluded from the SFL during the voting process which resulted in them being admitted to the Third Division. "At the Daily Record, we pride ourselves in journalism that is fair, honest and accurate. We do our best to correct errors or publish clarifications as soon as possible." A club statement on the morning of 13th July the day of the SFL Special General Meeting, confirmed that Clyde FC would vote YES to resolution 1 which proposed to admit Sevco Scotland Ltd to the SFL. The club was also contacted by Allan Rennie, Editor in Chief of Media Scotland who said:- "Regarding the article, the error was inserted during the production process. That was down to a miscommunication and pure human error."
  12. Good summing up. Welcome to the Forum.
  13. Anyone know who is advising Green?
  14. Taking a chance there !!
  15. Have the SFA issued their Statement ?
  16. Mid week Cup games have had falling attendances for a few years now. I would say 20k-30k is the norm. Especially when it is on TV.
  17. How many members are there at this time?
  18. Very difficult on twitter I would think.
  19. I see where you are coming from, and agree with you about the younger players, it doesn't look bright. It will depend on who is conducting the review of 'Murray Park', and whether they wait to see how the younger ones progress or not, as they get older. Of course they will have their own views, whether they will be any better is in the future.
  20. People who use modern social networks should realise anybody can read what they say, and there are idiots, and worse out there.
  21. Anybody can set up a twitter account and threaten anyone. If he is so precious he should stay out of the public eye, or be more careful what he says.
  22. You don't need to be in the RST to buy shares.
  23. The longer this goes on, the SPL and SFA just look more and more vindictive. We seriously need to bring this to a wider audience, there are no reporting of the facts down south. The only time we hear anything, it is people like Forsyth, Spiers and McGarry who give soundbites.
  24. Apart from the 'look at me' syndrome, I can never understand why these people feel the need to join things such as twitter. Probably an age thing.
