Plan For Two-Tier Premier League [Rangers]

A bit like the team for the Olympics, SFA or The Scottish League would not want anything to do with a British Competition. -
Plan For Two-Tier Premier League [Rangers]
chilledbear replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
The reporting of Wednesday nights trouble, will not help either. -
The proposal by Bolton Wanderers' chairman, Phil Gartside, for an expanded two-division Premier League which would include Celtic and Rangers has been revived and is on the agenda for next Thursday's Premier League clubs' meeting. His idea is prompted by what Gartside has described as a "fear factor" among the smaller clubs, who are desperately worried about the financial cost of relegation to the Championship and are overspending to avoid it. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/nov/06/premier-league-two-division-gartside

These sequence of events are the ones that the media should be reporting, and I have no doubt, if it were another British team, they would be.

Anything but a defeat, at least third would keep us in Europe. I think that is the way WS will look at tonight.

We seem to put players in the first team out of necessity, instead of choosing the time and place. Little in the Tim game, Wilson when there was no one else to play in the position. Both were on the bench v QOS, yet when we were up 2-0, Smith brought McCulloch on as Sub. Hopefully the last week will not only have given the young players confidence, also WS the confidence to play them.

Someone who has a VERY GOOD track record on FF, posted this earlier in the week. It's the only time he has posted this week. ''Go back and check who the first person was to interview King when he put £20m in the last time. And then you will all start to see how this entire thing has happened. And remember, Darrell King runs the Herald and the ET sportdesks It's not difficult to see who has orchestrated the whole thing. Believe me, he knows the lot - and it's getting dripped out day by day''. I take from this that one King is feeding the other King.

If it's a PR disaster now for Lloyds, then it should be made clear it will be worse, if there are any sales before new owners are installed.

Taken from FF Hello everyone, As you know, I donââ?¬â?¢t normally do such things, but given the circumstances, we feel itââ?¬â?¢s important and fair that the support should know this. Obviously I wonââ?¬â?¢t name sources, but let me assure you, I wouldnââ?¬â?¢t be posting this if a) I didnââ?¬â?¢t trust the source implicitly b) they didnââ?¬â?¢t have a 100% track record c) they werenââ?¬â?¢t as close to the situation or d) it didnââ?¬â?¢t check out when we investigated it. Allegedly; ââ?¬Â¢ The bank are panicking ââ?¬Â¢ Senior management are calling it ââ?¬Ë?a PR disasterââ?¬â?¢ ââ?¬Â¢ They want out soonest ââ?¬Â¢ Bain is not involved in the day-to-day running of the club ââ?¬Â¢ Muir is effectively running the club ââ?¬Â¢ Muir is hawking players to clubs ââ?¬Â¢ If the club is not sold at least three first team players will be sold in January in an attempt to raise Ã?£10m. This will allow the bank to drop the price for the club to Ã?£20m. They believe this might encourage further investors. The pressure that is being brought to bear on Lloyds IS having an effect. Keep up the good work Bears. Dangerous times, but potential sunshine ahead.

The fans groups are hoping for influence, a Supporter on the Board for instance. That would be enough for them to back anyone who stated as much.

''No one seems to be bothered about the kind of person we could have as owner of the Club. It seems like, Murrays out, anyone will be better''. I posted this on Monday, so yes I do care. But if King is the only one interested, the Bank will decide, no matter how much we' deserve to know'.
-
We do not have a vote, it will be decided behind closed doors. We can try and influence decisions, but at the end of the day, do the vast majority of the Support give a monkeys who Dave King is.
-
I can understand wanting to know more Frankie, but at the end of the day it will be money that counts.

Good to see a united front, perhaps the start of something.

Why is it we have to read about this meeting in a newspaper, why did the Assembly not announce this themselves? Or is this their way of doing so?

Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston will jet into Glasgow early next month for summit talks with Ibrox fans. The financially-troubled SPL champs have pencilled in a meeting with the influential Rangers Supporters Assembly on December 9. Johnston has failed to engage with the Light Blues legions since Walter Smith admitted at the weekend the Lloyds Banking Group are effectively running the club. However, the sports management boss, who is based in the USA, will address their fears as Assembly president Andy Kerr admitted the situation at the club has never been more critical. Kerr said: "The chairman had agreed to meet with us before the announcement at the weekend. We're keen to establish a relationship, even more so in light of the issues that have arisen and which are causing anxiety to all fans. "This needs to get sorted as soon as possible and supporters are keen to play an active role in helping to turn around the club at this pivotal point. "In line with most Rangers fans, I was stunned whenWalter made his announcement about the influence of the bank but we're glad he brought the issue to the table. "It's incumbent on all parties involved in any takeover talks to strike a deal, even if there must be compromise and ground conceded to get it done. "We're not finger pointing, but the ownership of the club must change. The Murray Group can no longer take us anywhere but down. If there's a genuine bid on the table we hope a deal can be done to the benefit of the club http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/rangers/2009/10/29/new-rangers-chief-alastair-johnston-to-hold-fans-summit-over-crisis-club-s-future-86908-21781507/

Support the online petition to Lloyds Banking Group
chilledbear replied to boss's topic in Rangers Chat
If you don't throw mud at a bank, they would think there was something wrong. Signed. -
In the long run, what the bank is doing could be the best for Rangers. Letting Murray out, something he said he wanted, getting rid of our debt, which has been a millstone round our necks. Also, probably the most important, living within our means. I just hope Dave King is the right person, we will see.

Getting rid of Branches in Scotland. ''Lloyds is set to be told to sell hundreds of branches along with their customers. Lloyds, which bought rival HBOS last year, has the largest branch network in the UK, with 3,000 outlets, and almost 30 per cent of the current account market. The Commission warned Lloyds it may be forced to divest its flagship Halifax brand, but the bank is thought to have negotiated a less drastic penalty. Among the assets it is expected to sell is its Lloyds TSB franchise in Scotland, which has 200 branches'' http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/banking_and_finance/article6893554.ece

There is a post on FF this morning from sccgers, not sure of his sources, but he says Murray values his shares at £6m. Anyone know how accurate the information in the post might be?
