  1. Ahhhh...that should have been the title of the thread.
  2. I wonder if he has LOADS of money. ''Could Germany be ruled by man named McAllister who got married in a kilt, supports Rangers... and drinks Irn-Bru? By Allan Hall Last updated at 9:16 AM on 06th February 2009 Comments (0) Add to My Stories A Scotsman who married in a kilt, supports Rangers, likes white pudding and drinks Irn-Bru is now being tipped as the possible ruler of...Germany. After climbing high and fast through the ranks of Germany’s CDU conservative party, pundits speculate great things lie in store for 38-year-old David McAllister. The son of a German mother and a Scottish father from the tough Gorbals area of Glasgow, he is recognised as one of the leading figures in Germany's ruling Christian Democratic Union party'' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1135559/Could-Germany-ruled-man-named-McAllister-got-married-kilt-supports-Rangers--drinks-Irn-Bru.html
  3. I must admit it's nice to see young lads coming through, but I always worry when too much praise is heaped on them. Saying that if the lad is going to be that good, then he won't reach the top staying in Scotland, it will be a matter of how long, and how much.
  4. If it's on the internet and from fans, no chance. Get the report signed by NEIL LENNON, it's a winner.
  5. I think Lee McC. will also start.......4-1-4-1
  6. Cammy thanks have really enjoyed them, especially since the memory is not the same as it used to be.
  7. Good post mate, I totally agree about the patience shown to the young players, even when CA is leaving he is still abused, uncalled for IMO. I remember Bobby Russell, was it Shettleston Juniors?
  8. I agree about Klos, never sure of him against the tims, couldn't come out for a ball. Sutton, Hartson and Balde must have thought it was Christmas.
  9. Look forward to it Frankie. BTW you got a job?
  10. I can't argue with HD and SE, in fact when you see who are already there, it beggars belief it has taken till 2009. My incredulity is stretched when someone who made the early sixties team tick, is still not included....Ian McMillan. It makes it even more of a travesty when John Greig [a hero of mine btw] someone who played with Ian, and knew his worth, does not put his name forward.
  11. I agree there seems to be an age gap that we will have to bridge, although having players like Naismith, Aaron, Fleck and the likes of Thomson and Davis help. I wonder if Furman, Shinnie, McMillan etc. might have had more chance if they had been introduced earlier. I have noticed celtc are trying to buy in young players, looks like we are producing more than they are at this time.
  12. Could be the one good thing to come out of all this.
  13. I noticed this on another Rangers Site, very interesting, so I hope it is ok to post on GersNet. ''Jamie Ness and Danny Wilson are the obvious ones, anyone that watches the youths would know that. They have not got the same profile as John Fleck, partly due to the fact they are not attacking players. Jamie Ness is a midfielder, good passer and wins a lot of ball in midfield, possibly similar to Nigel Spackman in style. Danny Wilson is footballing, left side centre half, and is actually younger than Fleck, he only turned 17 at the end of December. I think he may make his first appearance in the top team at left back as he has still got to develop a bit physically. Gregg Wylde is the most improved this season, plays either left -back or left midfield, hopefully he will keep improving, needs to work on his right foot. Of the younger players Darren Cole has played regularly for 19's this season, right back and reminds me of a young Alan Hutton. Kane Hemming the lad we signed from Tamworth has also impressed, a big powerful striker. We have a lot of good young players, unfortunately its not an exact science. Some progress steadily, some take big leaps forward, other take steps back. the site gives a brief profile on each player http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/ If you want anymore info on any of them you can e-mail me from that site''.
  14. Murray says we need the money....we don't get the money.....Smith says he's happy. :box: But we know to take everything that comes out of Ibrox with a large pinch of Salt.......shame.
  15. I'd be surprised if Stevie Smith was able to pass a medical.
  16. ON BBC. Norwich ready to take Gow on loan Gow's proposed transfer to Wolves fell through last month Rangers forward Alan Gow is set for a loan move to Norwich City for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Blackpool and saw a transfer to Wolves collapse last month due to a failed medical. Gow rejected overtures from Norwich and Burnley in the summer, having failed to make an impact at Ibrox. He joined Rangers from Falkirk in July 2007 but has only made two appearances for Walter Smith's side. Rangers had hoped to recoup £250,000 for a player they got under freedom of contract. However, Wolves would not take a risk on Gow after a medical revealed a "bio-mechanical" problem. He enjoyed a fruitful spell with Blackpool, scoring five goals in 17 appearances. And now Gow is in line to team up with Celtic striker Chris Killen, who agreed a temporary move to Carrow Road at the weekend.
  17. Winning the League is the most important thing this season, anything that undermines this is not on for me.
  18. Youths Grab Late Winner
  19. Sorry not to put the link up, we were going out and the wife was :box:
  20. Google 101 great goals.
  21. Gus MacPherson has been left raging with The SPL over rules that have prevented him taking Rangers defender Steven Smith on loan. SPL clubs are only allowed one loan signing over the age of 21 a season, and, with 21-year-old Scott Cuthbert on board from Celtic, a deal looks dead. But MacPherson has been left confused by the rule over three players under 21 being in the matchday squad, by which Cuthbert qualifies as one of the representatives. The conflict between the different rules has left the St Mirren manager unhappy and he wants it cleared up by the league. ââ?¬Å?The deal is dead and it is frustrating,ââ?¬Â he said. ââ?¬Å?We agreed a deal with Rangers, we spoke to the player and he was delighted to come. ââ?¬Å?We were double-checking the rules on loan deals when we found out. ââ?¬Å?There must be a reason for the rule being put in place but it seems strange. ââ?¬Å?You can't have conflicting rules regarding under-21 players. ââ?¬Å?Scott Cuthbert was 21 when he came to us yet he qualifies to play as an under-21 week-in, week-out in The SPL. ââ?¬Å?But according to the rule for loan deals, he is over 21 and we are only allowed one per season from this country. ââ?¬Å?We have highlighted an error in the rules, which hopefully will be looked at with common sense. ââ?¬Å?The SPL have explained to the club but it is a conflicting rule and I think it will be changed. ââ?¬Å?We have one or two players that we have enquired about but we are running out of time.ââ?¬Â It would have helped Stevie, shame.
  22. Just saw this on FF, for those who don't frequent the site....enjoy. http://blogs.myspace.com/glasgowrangers1873
  23. Would like us to sign/loan a Marvin Andrews type centre half, sorely needed in my opinion.
  24. No problem, once a hero of mine.
  25. Alfie Conn, never ever forgave him.
